Indirectly "sMerit" is given to the person who plays a role behind an account. If it is sold then the account changes character because of owner change. And it will be different sMerit to get, the new owner can get faster sMerit because more qualified or otherwise never again get sMerit.
but i've seen that there is someone who gives merit to those who make bad posts, they give so much "merit" just by they have a higher rank, i see that i'm envious, why do other people give merit so easily .

Merit system is a two edge sword. It has done both good and bad to the forum. The best thing about this system is that we can the post is coming from ab experienced user and is valid one.
The bad thing is that people are selling high merits account to people of low calibre. One more thing is if you are experience btc user, still you won't have much say on the forum.

You are saying right brother. Some peoples just come on forum to join bounty campaigns. They post only weekly report posts. But there are many bounty campaigns that include signature campaigns to help peoples to increase their posts and they earn coins through signature campaign. But merit system differentiate between the users that who is working with devotion on forum. Because a person give us merit which post is excellent

Thats why merit created because of the other forum member abusing the ability of this forum to make money by selling higher rank dummy account to other lower account member and now some of member get the idea of merit trading to maintain their activity by creating higher account here in bitcointalk and still they can sell it with other member. But its not totally easy to get merited because we all know that this forum have moderator to check all the post all the reply that really worthy to be merited by other member. Even me I struggle to gain merit in this forum because I have lack of knowledge when it comes to crypto currency for me to share knowledge to others.

Introduction of merits award actually helps in the improvement of quality of posts in the forum. But sometimes, people make quality posts which are unfortunately not merited, most especially when it comes as a reply to a post.

If you find unmerited good quality posts, you can report it to the merit sources. Go to this [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source. You can report/submit posts made by other users or report your own post on that thread. Once you report it, let the merit sources decide if the posts deserved to be merited or not.

The best way to enhance individual activities and post quality, so many bounty hunters who just post weekly report then easily got promoted without good contribution to the forum. it's quite not normal seeing everyone just increasing in rank without being qualified in that same position. but now i really love the merit system where one would be creative before getting some merit to get to the next level.

I didn't got it, so sad.
what you are here for is the one to ask.... Huh
if you just want to be a bounty hunter then you must know how to get merit because it has been explained in this forum
and if you are looking for job opportunities then you can offer various types of your abilities in the service section forum and this does not really need merit maybe hard work, honesty and your services is the main capital and for those who are satisfied with your results, not only pay but will give merit for you

Those who  want merits aims to join signature campaigns and going to that option is  really a bad choice since once people find out about those activities for sure all their efforts will be wasted so better they should seek first the  opportunity where they don't need a merit since if we actually do an effort to search some jobs here we can find one and merit is just a bonus after that if we established ourselves here.

Now you get it  Cheesy, also don't be sad if you didn't get any merits yet maybe try again although getting this is really hard but don't pressure yourself just enjoy here and post some useful contents and for sure you will get a merit. For now focus to learn more about crypto and this forum so that you will became more relevant and merit worthy.

Why they're in hurry to get ranked?

1. Join in signature campaigns ( The higher the rank the higher earning you would get)

2. Making yourself a high rank looked a bit trustable which means scammers do make use of it

Things that i do saw on why people are really on a hurry on ranking up.

Maybe these are the reasons or maybe it's just few of the many reasons (only those who do that knows). But i think the merit system should really be controlled like introducing a new rule which will only allow higher members to merit maybe onece or twice in a week or month. That way, merits won't be given anyhow

Very interesting to see the reactions to the newly introduced concept of merit as an additional indicator of account maturity and quality beyond just pure number of posts / activity. While this was introduced to increase post quality it has of course created a counter movement and a market place for "trading" merit - for money.
So this is just a reminder for everyone that the introduction of merit is a GOOD thing because it will help improve the quality of this forum for everybody.

"Trading" merit will undermine this and render it eventually useless.

Keep contributing!

I don't even know such thing exist on the forum but if it truly exist as you've claimed. I must say it's really a bad thing to do (both buyers and sellers). Probably the seller got to that stage using illegitimate way too. I still don't know why most people are always in hurry to get ranked.

This is very interesting, I'm relatively new here but i've always been accustomed to merit being achieved, and not purchased. That has honestly been something that i've asked for advice from trusted members on here on how I can achieve it, the answer has always been the same: by posting. Buying merit is horse crap. You should only be able to EARN merit by your honest contributions, in my opinion. I'd also like to add.

Feeling is so good when yoh receive a merit from the other person in honest situation since if you buy those merits and your post quality is not good still those who buy merit are just wasting their money because they cannot still participate on the camp they wish to join.

Much really better to give good contribution since you will learn more from researching on what you want to contribute and you might rank up by doing honest deeds here.

Buying and selling of bitcointalk merit is not good because this presents lots of spammers which post has not any quality and recived membership. Merit should be given to those members who really give some great thoughts to this forum. So many members going through this forum with their hard and honest work they should get merits. Quality posts can earn merit. Merit trading is not going to be supported on this advance forum where every sentence matter.
I understand that you are newbie which isnt really that aware with forum rules but you should refrain on bumping up threads like these where it has been inactive for a month now where bumping
is really against with the forum rules so better be aware so that you wont really be having any problems soon.
As per merit buying and selling then it cant really be avoided because there are people whom do sell out their smerits in exchange for some bucks and it is something a bit valuable because you
cant really rank up once you didnt get the requirement merit count. It is totally prohibited into this forum and once caught then expect for some negative trust.
