I'm thinking what if Verstappen is taking a mental break right now and he's just cruising out there.  Lol.  If there's a time when Leclerc has a huge opportunity to win a race, it's this one...  What do you guys think?

Congratulations to Jorge Martin who got pole position for tomorrow's grid and he managed to score his best time of 1:57.790 seconds which is also an (All Time Laps Record). Completing the second and third positions are Enea Bastianini and Marc Marquez who will start the race on the front row tomorrow. It is a pity for Bagnaia and Aleix Espargaro who fell while doing a time attack to get the best time in Q2. Likewise with Fabio Quartararo who almost fell when he started to lose control while doing his best lap in the final minutes of Q2.

It's really very unfortunate for Francesco Bagnaia to have to start tomorrow in 9th position due to a fall in Q2, even though during the Q1 race, Bagnaia's Ducati mount had put out full power to get the best record.

However, Bagnaia's toughest rival Fabio Quartararo also did not have good luck in the Malaysian MotoGP because he had to start in 12th position. It will be interesting to see whether Bagnaia can get his title at the Malaysian MotoGP or must end it in the last series at the Valencia MotoGP.

So many 3rd drivers for the teams, the next hour will we have the official drivers.

It is nice when we have these drivers taking part in practice and see what are their capabilities. The second practice showed Leclerc clearly ahead of others and I am happy to see Sainz topping this list now, probably Verstappen is there too and maybe in the official qualifying he will win the Pole Position.

I wonder which of us in Europe is going to see the qualifying since it is in 12 AM of the night with our time,I don't remember the qualifying of any US GP to be this late, max they were in 22 or 23 PM which is more normal for us to wait and see the qualifying but at least the race is in 21 PM so we are going to watch it.

Verstappen has already said that he is not concerned with the world championship at all and that he wants to continue what he is doing: winning races. He could still win them all. He is a favorite every reaction. He also makes almost no mistakes and he has only been driving in F1 for a few years. It reminds me of Senna how he used to drive. Too bad legends can't measure up to Max anymore. How would Max do if he could drive against Schumacher and Senna in F1? It's speculation, but I think they're about the same level in terms of talent. Verstappen started karting at a very young age and has already developed a great feeling there and learned a lot of tactics.

We see many familiar faces from F2 in FP1 session now. Stroll is one of the impressive drivers of this session but most of the drivers don't push much in practice sessions though. Even if Leclerc had a chance to win this Grand Prix he doesn't have anymore after getting this huge grid penalty.  Grin

It seems like Ferrari don't care about Leclerc's race for the second place in the driver standings. They just want to make the car ready for next season by continuing to implement their tests on the car with new changes. If I'm not wrong the reason why the 5-grid penalty turned to starting from back of the grid is that Ferrari changed more than 3 elements in the engine. This would be another race dominated by Red Bull as usual.

Leclerc will take penalties again, and will start in the back of the grid, at least he will have a fun race.

He is also skipping practices due the rule of "teams must do practices with the 3rd driver during the season".

Ferrari at this point are trying to improve the car for next year by gathering essential information on the track and this is good as this season is over for them , no need to push the engine further and car as well.

Now , for Max , he can still achieve the number of victories hold by Schumi and Vettel so for me , I have a reason to watch this GP and maybe Hamilton will come out of nowhere and steal the show for himself by taking the W.

Yes, I also think that Ferrari should not be pushing their car for this season and should only take steps if they need that for gathering the Intel. They should now be focusing on next season and I'm really hoping that they will make enough changes to give head-to-head competition to Merc and others. On the other hand, Max has still got it and I will be really glad if he is able to bag some more titles. But I don't think that Hamilton will be able to disrupt him this season as he has aged and this is the time for the younger drivers to shine in my opinion. I'm really excited about what the future holds for Max.

The United States GP is nearly upon us.

The last winner was Verstappen here. He is again the favourite by far even though he has announced his second title in his career already. I don't think that his ambition will drop down much in the rest of the races. I'm just thinking of picking Leclerc win for making bets in the remaining races. Because maybe he might find a chance to win under existing circumstances. He still has a target I assume like fighting for the second spot in the standings against Perez. He would do his best to stay ahead of Perez.

Start by not doing so in this race where Leclerc is a sure thing to have a 5 places penalty grid because of some changes that Ferrari is making to the engine.Even if Leclerc had not a penalty his motivation would be near 0 to fight with all he can to get a win,he cannot win anything this year and is most probably already looking for the next year which is not that far away.Fighting for the second place does not get you motivated at all as there is a saying from F1 former drivers which I forgot which was that said "first place is for the winner and the second place is for dogs" meaning there is no real value to it.Better save your money in this race and try betting on a race where Leclerc has no penalties.

14 points difference and only 2 races left, it's about mentality. Bagnaia cannot make any mistakes and of course I think now the pressure is on Bagnaia especially as he is a young inexperienced rider.
while Fabio is the reigning champion, he just needs to give his best and use Bagnaia to make mistakes.
in a situation like this I think anything is still possible and in the race a lot of unexpected things can happen, it will be very interesting.
Obviously it will be very interesting because in Sepang there are always fierce races and the circuit was raining during the FP for Moto2, but now the FP2 for MotoGP can be continued again and I'm watching it. I would prefer if the race for the MotoGP and Moto2 world championships this season could take place at the close of the race later, namely at the Valencia circuit.

Maybe, if Bagnaia only focuses to lock the title, he will be flustered and make a slip. On the side, if Quartararo relaxes in handling the shift he will get the podium. The problem is still on emotion on both, I hope Quartararo wins and doesn't overdo it again as he did in Australia. I see Bagnaia is capable to handle it, but Quartararo must have a friend and team to warm it up on the track.
In essence, they both have to be smart to take advantage of the opportunities that exist and also have to be able to control their emotions so that unwanted things don't happen such as crashes or other things. And to determine the world champion this season, MotoGp itself has also released a little data which can be used as a guide for everyone (especially for this race).

Right now I'm watching FP1 for MotoGp and the weather is pretty good even though it's not that hot

It would be a great step forward for Ricciardo to take Hamilton's place at Mercedes later on. While we are talking about how much his performance has dropped down, this would be a golden opportunity for Ricciardo. He is normally a very talented driver but he hasn't performed as he expected to do at McLaren so far. His days with Red Bull and Renault were quite good and it might be the same at Mercedes as well.

I wonder how much competitive he would be against Russell. I wouldn't expect the same level as Ricciardo - Verstappen rivalry for sure.  Grin

If I were Ricciardo I would join Haas despite them not being that good of a car that would offer possibility for wins but it is better with them then staying out of F1 for one year.

Riccardo for me is aiming for Hamilton seat.
He may join Mercedes as 3rd driver for the next year and takes the Hamilton spot as the second driver in 2 years.

Just IMHO.

Steiner has spoken about next year for Hulkenberg.
The rumor is to remove Schumacher and he admitted they talk with Nico.

Will this be the end for the young MSCHU in F1?

Steiner also spoke about Ricciardo and said I am not putting pressure on him,we have a great relation and if he wants he can call me at any time to discuss his future. For me he is a race winner, has been so and he has won not that far away last year in Monza, right now though he is without a job Steiner ended his interview in F1 official Instagram page.

I honestly believe that Max and Perez wouldn't be caring about the end of the result, third in the drivers is good enough, don't need to be second, they have first and third in drivers and first in constructors, that’s more than good enough.

Perez is a little bit older than Max as we all know, and he will be replaced eventually by someone else who could be as good on defending and helping, sort of Bottas to Hamilton type of situation, and right now there are none available like that, so Perez is fine right now and don't need to be vice champion to prove anything to anyone, he already lost that chance by helping Max and that matters a lot more.
