F1 is expanding once more.

They are now talking about adding 1 more GP.

The GP will be in Colombia in the city of Barranquilla

It doesn't seem like an attention getting track to me at least for now. Seeing it in real life might change my mind of course.

It looks like the straights are too long on this track which might cause it to be a little boring for spectators. Of course this would help us see more overtakes but the track would just be uniform because of lacking many sharp turns. But I'm always open for new tracks in F1 as this might help increase the curiosity level of people in this sport. Having always the same tracks might start to be boring for some people at some point. I wonder if we will see Caribbean GP being added later into 2023 calendar.

I guess the more important question is who gets his seat?  If it were up to me, I'd like to see De Vries or Ricciardo.

It will probably be De Vries.

Riccardo at the moment has no seat.

Latifi will be not on William the next year.

Will the goat be able to find a new seat?

Nope.  Not unless another team needs a pay driver...  He will be missed.  Lots of good memes were made because of him.  Thanks for the laughs Latifi.  You make even the most boring races in F1 worth it to watch.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Will Vettel be able to snatch some points in his final race in Singapore ? I mean , we all know that his nickname here is The Lion of Singapore but can he do it again ? Podium seems far away for Aston Martin but some points can be achieved by Vettel next weekend. Wink

The Lion of Singapore is a name he has not held from the distant year of 2019,I know but 3 years are a lot in F1 based on intensity so most probably he will not do it again. The last race at Monza clearly showed the problems of Aston Martin not having that great of a power unit that was much needed there.

The Singapore GP is a beautiful and  fast one, where also here the power unit plays an important role and I would be surprised to see any Aston Martin finish in the points here taking for granted that all the other cars will not have any problem of any sort.

Pole position of Marc Marquez very surprising but once something to cheer for Honda. For tomorrow, however, I assume that Aprilia will be very very strong, as Vinales and Aleix has a very good starting position for the victory, for Bagnaia and Fabio it will be very difficult tomorrow but just wait and see how the weather is tomorrow.

Looks like I need to get up pretty early tomorrow since I am in Europe to watch the Motegi race and I will make sure I will.Seeing Marquez on pole with a Honda in front of the home crowd for Honda is a great achievement and I think he will do great even in the race.I don't think Aprilia is going to win this but most likely they can give a fight to Marquez, looks like spectacle is back again on MotoGP with the return of a great late times rider like Marquez is.

I hope many more riders with his capabilities are added to MotoGp for next year so we can see even better races.

Thanks, corrected, I meant quartararo but why did I write Lorenzo.  Huh Maybe I'm out of focus.
Yeah, you're welcome. And it's true you seem to be less focused in writing.

I've been watching Moto GP since Rossi's fight with Gibernau. Then there is Stoner and Marquez. But I see Marquez's racing style is aggressive, it seems he hasn't changed much since I saw it from the start. But indeed every racer has his own style. It's hard to change that. I hope the race remains interesting and there are not many accidents that harm other drivers.
I also don't need to know someone when and in whose era he watched MotoGp. Because I'm not discussing it in the discussion. I even watched MotoGp since I was still in the 2-stroke era, at that time Valentino Rossi was still a debutant rider in the Nastro Azzurro Honda satellite team.

Now forget about that little mistake and focus on the race at Motegi Japan tomorrow where Marquez gets the Pole position in today's qualifying even though the circuit conditions are wet after the rain stopped. Because at the time of qualifying for Moto2, we also experienced a Red Flag because it was raining too hard, hopefully the weather for tomorrow's race can be more comfortable and dry.

Mick should find himself a place one way or another. I know that he hasn't been good on his first year, and that constant being last is a big deal, but he never really got a car that was half decent and that was his problem. Ferrari may not give him a chance, but removing him from Haas means that dude probably won't be in F1 and getting back into it is very tough, so he should be getting a place.

If Ferrari gave up on him, then he could move to Williams to race with Albon and I am sure he will be great there. Haas also hired back Giovanazzi, the Italian Jesus back. Which contradicts my point of coming back but dude didn't deserve it and this rarely happens for sure.

In fact, Haas boss Guenther Steiner has neither ruled out nor guaranteed Mick Schumacher's stay for 2023. And he expects the German to show more performance in the remaining races of this end of the F1 season.
Mick had a lot of lows in the 2022 season and the worst I think was in Jeddah when he destroyed the Haas chassis in qualifying for the Saudi GP and was out of the race.
After that he was challenged to improve his performance if he wanted to stay on the team.... and in my opinion that happened, after all, Mick got ahead of his teammate eleven times in 16 races so far. In addition, he scored twelve points with an eighth place at Silverstone and a sixth in Austria, his best career result so far.
Is this still that bad?

I'm afraid I can't say that I'm sad about him. He has been one of the worst drivers in F1 history for sure. He has cost his team too much so far also after all those incidents. It was already time for Williams to find a new replacement for him and maybe Nyck de Vries might be one of the candidates for the seat.

As for the "GOAT" to find a seat, I don't think that he has much chance about that. I'm pretty sure that none of the more powerful teams would like to sign an agreement with him. Even Haas wouldn't like to bring him into Mick Schumacher's seat. It would be like a downgrade for the team.  Grin

I wonder how long Mercedes will be able to keep up the good work in the rest of the season.

After some changes in the regulation (which has made Ferrari weaker) and some increase in power, Mercedes are in a serious fight with Ferrari for the second spot in the standings. There are two different competitions between Ferrari and Mercedes drivers at the same time (Leclerc-Russell, Sainz-Hamilton). I think that Russell won't be able to leave Leclerc behind. But I'm not sure about Sainz. Him and Hamilton both have had many problematic races so far. If Hamilton uses his current power advantage well he might leave Sainz behind until the end of the season.

There was some improvement in Ferrari's performance also in Monza GP though. But it is still early to say anything about the next race in Singapore. Ferrari must have started to focus on developing their next season car just as Mercedes I assume. Hence we might not see big updates in the remaining races from both sides.

This season in F1 is well already over and Redbull made it boring especially after the new regulations in the middle of the season for the first time in F1 history gave them even more power.Ferrari started the season really good but both their drivers and team, especially team errors in many different occasions left them behind a lot of points which are now shown in the standings of the drivers.Without nothing removing to a stellar performance from Verstappen as his team mate despite having the same car is far from such performances I think that if Ferrari didn't made that many errors they would still be in a fight for the title, the chances would be less but still the season would have not ended so early.

Many regret Quartararo lost the points in the Aragon race and make the different point too closed with Bagnaia, but it is grateful, only slightly injured and able to continue next race. So, will there be a surprise in japan? will Bagnaia beat Quartararo position? If lost and can't get the podium, the position will change to Bagnaia with exception if get the podium. And, I am still not sure the event will cancel again like in 2021 if the tornado still spinning there.
Surprises will probably be in Japan and one of them was the fire in the garage of the Marc VDS team yesterday which took everyone by surprise Smiley and for the race results it looks like they will also be surprised because Motegi always gives a very interesting spectacle there (before the pandemic). The MotoGP event there will not be canceled because all the riders are already in Japan and will also start FP1 on Friday.
Of course, a fierce race will be inevitable in the Motegi Race this season, especially since Quartararo and Bagnaia's competition is very tight after Quartararo lost points in the previous race and thus the distance between Fabio and Bagnaia is only 10 points apart.
and for the race at Motegi this season I will still favor Ducati, I think the number of straights will be very beneficial for those who have an above average bike speed.

Who did the meme don't know how the logistic of the f1 works.
The f1 teams for the races outside Europe, Asia, and America send containers months before the race.

After the 1st of these 2 races, they will send only cars and components of the car from point A to point B by plane (less than 1-day travel), the big of the stuff will be sent back to Europe while the containers are going or are already in America by ship low-cost travel planned months ago.

I didn't know this information about the logistics honestly. Thank you for sharing it with us.  Smiley

I think the owner of this meme wanted to point out the condition of people rather than the travel costs etc.. Because people are going to get very tired after a very long trip like this. It lasts nearly a day despite flying from one place to another. Of course people in this sector are already accustomed to this kind of long trips but it would still be quite tiresome. To tell the truth, I wouldn't like to watch any race in the Middle East. For example I find the Saudi Arabia GP quite meaningless but money talks. The last race there was even dangerous after the scary incident but they still wanted drivers to race. Some drivers even tried to protest it but it didn't help of course.

I really liked this meme.  Grin  I wonder whose idea it was to put two races into the calendar whose places are too far away from each other. It's like going to the far end of the world after having a race in Las Vegas.

I'm confused. What makes you mention the presence of LORENZO in the accident Huh
I never even saw Lorenzo in the race again after he retired from MotoGP racing and also been named one of the MotoGP Legends through a ceremony at the Jerez circuit in Spain. So I think in this case you are seeing people wrong because the ones in the accident were Fabio Quartararo and Takaki Nakagami.

^  It's not just about how tired the team is.  It's also about the logistics of moving all their stuff from one side of the planet to the other.  That's a looong trip.  Prolly more than 18 hours.  I guess from a betting perspective, it could be a good bet to put some money on the under in 'how many cars will be classified?'.  Wink  That's gonna be some possible crash galore of a race with all the drivers jet lagged.  Lol.
