I really liked this meme.  Grin  I wonder whose idea it was to put two races into the calendar whose places are too far away from each other. It's like going to the far end of the world after having a race in Las Vegas.

I'd prefer to see only one race in each one of these countries and they shouldn't be back-to-back at the same time. They should think about how tired team workers will be after this kind of journeys also. Maybe it is easier for the drivers but workers have no choice other than travelling to next location right after the end of the most recent race. It is the only way they can be fully ready for next race. It is still early of course so maybe we can see some changes in the calendar even after new season begins.

Wups..  Yup you're right.  No wonder the market is mostly blank except for race winner.  Lol.  I got the dates wrong as I saw Sept 30 for FP1 and I just thought it's gonna be this weekend.  :/  So that's gonna be a no UFC, no EPL and no F1 weekend.  Meh...  Time to go out and touch the grass I guess.

Anyway, does anybody have any suggestions for some good sporting events to watch and make small bets on for fun?

yeah, I was right then Cheesy, it is the 1st week of October, in 10 days.

Meanwhile, Mazepin wants to come back to F1 and he asked to come back without the Russian flag, as a neutral driver.

That's not happening imho.  Liberty Media won't allow it.  Isn't he the son of a Russian oligarch who's rumored to be close to Putin?  I mean I have nothing against Mazepin but it would be the right decision not to have him back.  The sport needs to avoid doing anything controversial politically.  These have become very sensitive matters as of late.

But if it were up to me, I'd def like him to go back.  It's gonna be good for the memes at Formula Dank.  Lol.

Yeah it is in the first weekend of October on 2 October in Singapore.Another boring weekend await us regarding F1 but at least we should have MotoGP race which has spiced up a lot after the last race.

For Mazespin I think he should not be accepted for two reasons, the first and foremost is that because he is a Russian citizen and after the atrocities the Russian army is committing in Ukraine no single Russian person should be allowed to take part in such a respected sport as F1.

Second reason is that he mostly only crashes other people out rather than racing a good race,he had his chances before the war and showed nothing,so bringing him back would bring back nothing to F1 in general, well except maybe a sponsor or two.

Wait this weekend? Are you sure?

I'm almost sure this weekend was Russian GP canceled for War and now we have a break for 1 extra week.

That's right, the Russian GP has been cancelled and the next Formula 1 GP will be in Singapore on 2 October.

But this weekend is MotoGP in Japan again, a very tight calendar in MotoGP, last weekend in Italy this weekend in Japan.

There hasn't been a race on this track for a while now, so I'm curious to see whether Ducati will dominate there again and whether Bangnai will be able to win?

If Bagnaian won in yesterday's Aragon race, then it would not be a one-time win, but a fifth win in a row or his seventh win this season because so far Bagnaia has got six wins with four in a row. But he (Bagnaia) was not so determined to get a win at Aragon when he was overtaken by Bastianini because it was still better to take a very wise move by securing his second place to bring home the points to stay competitive for the world title this season.

And as for Fabio Quartararo and Nakagami, actually they both suffered minor injuries from the incident, it's just that they weren't injured or injured more seriously.
Many regret Quartararo lost the points in the Aragon race and make the different point too closed with Bagnaia, but it is grateful, only slightly injured and able to continue next race. So, will there be a surprise in japan? will Bagnaia beat Quartararo position? If lost and can't get the podium, the position will change to Bagnaia with exception if get the podium. And, I am still not sure the event will cancel again like in 2021 if the tornado still spinning there.

I think that there are more than enough races in the USA next season. We don't need 3 races there. They could have made an effort to bring back some loved tracks to the calendar. For example adding the Turkish GP would be really great. It has one of the greatest tracks in F1 and drivers enjoy racing there also. But I assume that Turkish officials are having problems with the agreement now. Actually they have also seemed very eager to bring Formula 1 back there again. Maybe we would see it back in case a race is cancelled.
Completely agree. Austin track is good, but I don't have good impression about Miami GP and I'm sceptical about Las Vegas track. Also, I'm not big fan most of tracks in Middle East like Bahrain, Abu Dhabi or Qatar. Old school tracks with some special charm is way better for me. I really miss Istanbul, Hockenheimring or Nurburgring. But offcourse, USA is Middle East tracks have much more attractive commercial offers for Liberty Media.
BTW, remember before Covid pandemic they had listed Vietnam GP in calendar, but later it got cancelled few times. As I understand, F1 aren't planning to race there anymore.

Yeah, I also was sure that Singapore GP this weekend. Pretty empty weekend. Maybe Laver Cup tennis might be interesting to watch and bet if you're looking for alternative other than Nations League.

Nick de Vries will also get a place in F1 from next season. He was champion of F2 or F3, but made a good impression last race. The question is actually more for next season whether certain regulations will be adjusted, and how the engines are doing. If it all stays roughly the way it is now, then Verstappen will easily become champion again next season. Mercedes does not seem to be able to play any significant role. Ferrari has potential with their team, but mechanically there are still some problems here and there. I am curious if they will get that resolved next season, I would like to see a battle between Verstappen and Leclerc.

The next season might not be all about a Verstappen - Leclerc battle even if Ferrari make a huge improvement and finally start to compete with Red Bull for real.

Because Mercedes have already got much better than the beginning of the season now. They have started to work on their next season car as they won't be able to achieve anything this season. Therefore we should be ready to see Hamilton entering the title race again and maybe even Russell too. Russell is already better this season and who knows what will happen in the next one. I wonder how he would react if the team focus on Hamilton's 8th world title and ask him to be helpful about it. If Russell becomes a Rosberg-like driver then the title race would be even more interesting.  Grin

So Ducati winning the manufacturers' championship is by no means surprising, they have the most bikes in the field and with Gresini they are at the state of the art in terms of models, supposedly even the same engine as the factory team.

For the constructors' title it will be a close race between Aprilia and Ducati, but Ducati will probably have the edge there. Next year it will be very difficult to catch up with the Ducati factory team with Bagnaia and Bastianini in one team, which will be very difficult for the other teams. I still give Aprilia a chance next year, Vinales has consolidated himself and Aleix is in TOP form at the moment and hopefully next year.
That's right, Having a lot of bikes on the MotoGP grid is one of the advantages for Ducati at the moment besides being a very aggressive and experienced rider. Next year, Ducati will still be very dangerous and strong because the combination of Bagnaia and Bastianini on the factory team is a very extraordinary duo and is difficult to beat by other teams.

What you just described is beautiful for MotoGP but very sad for me which I am used at least some years ago when I was a loyal follower of MotoGP when legends were riding these bikes,at that time only Honda and Yamaha dominated the sport. It looks like a lot has changed here and from a fan point of view this is good,we don't need to see always the same teams winning.I would love to see Marquez back for next year at Honda and winning races again,he is the rider with the most bad luck from the ones alive as I am not talking about Simoncelli which died on the track and is the unluckiest from all other riders in history.
Many teams and manufacturers have developed very well now, where there is Aprilia who has started to appear in front with its flagship rider, as well as Ducati which every year experiences developments in motorbikes and motorcycle engines used by factory riders and other independent team riders such as at Pramac. Racing, Gresini Racing and Mooney VR46 Racing at the moment. So it is natural that now there is a better difference than the past with the dominance of Honda and Yamaha.

There isn't much to see at MotoGP races. I only had time to see the footage of Lorenzo and Nakagami's accident. Was it Marquez's first race after the injury? If he returns, he will make the competition even harder. But if you look at the piece, it looks like Marquez did close, so he wouldn't be passed. But indeed, Marquez has such a style of racing. In some of the races he has gone through, he has also often harmed other drivers. I'm just worried about Nakagami and Lorenzo getting seriously injured. But that doesn't seem to be the case.
I'm confused. What makes you mention the presence of LORENZO in the accident Huh
I never even saw Lorenzo in the race again after he retired from MotoGP racing and also been named one of the MotoGP Legends through a ceremony at the Jerez circuit in Spain. So I think in this case you are seeing people wrong because the ones in the accident were Fabio Quartararo and Takaki Nakagami.

The Singapore GP is at the next weekend not this one.

Formula just announced the dates for next seasons races, and it looks like 24 races will happen if all goes well, I still think that there is a fine line between having too much, but also leaving money on the table.

If you have too little amount of races, then you would lose money for formula 1 and causing it to make even less money, most teams barely go by, on the other hand if you race too much, it is going to be a logistical hell for teams to run around and have so many races and have it all delivered on time, we already have trouble sometimes. So all in all, I am guessing that 24 could be pushing the limits, we will see how it will happen, but if it works perfectly, they can try to increase it each year until they face a limit.

Congratulations to Factory Ducati for winning constructors in MotoGP this season again. And this is not surprising or surprising at all because besides Ducati motorcycles are the bikes that are most in demand by independent teams on the MotoGP grid. Ducati is also a bike with a lot of power so it can always get more points through some of their flagship riders who are experienced and also proven to be very good.

It's the Singapore GP this weekend guys...  With no EPL football and no UFC, all focus by the degens will be on F1.  Too bad there's usually aren't any spots to bet on in F1.  Lines are so sharp and outcomes are a tad unpredictable and not worth it given the odds.

Anyway, here's the schedule of the event.

2022 F1 Singapore GP Schedule

Track:  Marina Bay Street Circuit, Marina Bay, Singapore

Practice 1:  Friday September 30, 2022, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Practice 2:  Friday September 30, 2022, 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Practice 3:  Saturday October 1, 2022, 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Qualifying:  Saturday October 1, 2022, 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Race:  Sunday October 2, 2022, 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM

^  That's Vettel's favorite track btw..  He's at 1000 to win.  Cheesy

Actually this is great news for Gasly if he is really likely to start racing for Alpine as of next season. Because Alpine are in a much better condition than AlphaTauri now. Of course I also agree that the condition of the teams changes very sharply from now on. We are in a new era in F1 from now on and we started seeing even unexpected teams having much a better season. It is hard to predict how strong Alpine and AlphaTauri will be next time. But for now there is a huge gap between their cars.

Gasly and Ocon both are very ambitious drivers. I wonder how fierce they would compete with each other. Ocon is a driver who doesn't back down easily even against his teammates. He has made difficulties for Alonso many times so far. I don't even know which one of them would be the main driver of the team. Both of them are skilled young drivers. Maybe they would like to leave them alone to show their skills for some time and then make a decision about it.
I feel like Ocon and Gasly will end up not really fighting each other but fight together. Normally we know there has been a lot of number one driver and number two driver on teams, but in this case it could be equal drivers, and nobody would be given a better car part, or at least looks like it could happen. They do not have a clear better driver, so the best thing to do would be making sure that they are doing fine with each other, if they have that type of chemistry then it should be fine.

I feel like the best thing to do would be waiting for the car to improve, because they do not have a good car yet, if they can get that, these two could bring them a lot of points.
