^  I don't think there's gonna be another 'Verstappen' tbh.  Verstappen is one in a million imho and he came in F1 without the media pressure.  Toto Wolff should be careful in handling the new kid as he could fold under pressure.  And could even cause an accident on the track.  Must let him be and develop as a racer.

Yeah, maybe I got carried away too much.  Tongue  Verstappen has really unique set of skills. It would still be great if Antonelli just focuses on his development completely. He can still be one of the best drivers in the future. He has long years ahead of him to work on it. I think Toto Wolff would know what kind of actions he should take. He wouldn't like to pressure him excessively.

If Mercedes makes big progress for 2026 season then I would be very keen on watching Russell - Antonelli duo closely.  Grin



When it comes to Le Mans... Truthfully I don't have much knowledge about the sport. But it must be really difficult to drive these cars for many hours under any kind of weather conditions.  Sad

I would say Kimi Antonelli would not really make "that" much of a change for Mercedes, don't get me wrong he is a great kid and all ,but I do not think that there is any need for a hype yet. Russell on the other hand is looking like he doesn't have that "finishing" ability, he drives very well but when he is at a situation where he has a chance to overtake and get a win, he fails to take that last chance.

In the end, Mercedes is getting a better and better car with the current design but we are nearing the end of the current design, I believe that until 2026 they are going to get nothing. After that, it will definitely be anyone's game, cars will be sooooo much different, lets see how it is going to impact the teams and which one will be better or worse.

Oh, really? This is wonderful news for Antonelli surely.  Smiley  Mercedes is also starting a "Verstappen project" with Antonelli seemingly.  Grin  I thought they would consider bringing a more experienced driver such as Sainz, Vettel or Alonso. But technically Russell has also gained a lot of experience until the age of 26. So I understand their choice.

By the way the regulation says that FIA will apply this change of rule to only the drivers of whom they admire the talent. So this means it isn't going to be an objective call. I hope this wouldn't be abused in the future.  Sad

I am quite optimistic that the upgrades that Ferrari will bring to their floors and some minor updates will hopefully be able to boost Ferrari's performance in the Spanish race later, because to be honest, Ferrari's performance in yesterday's race was very bad and embarrassing. Hopefully this upgrade will not be a downgrade for their performance.
And for McLaren, I still see that they are competitors besides RB, for Ferrari, they are a consistent team and the upgrades they have made are quite good at boosting their performance. They resigned with Perez because Ricciardo did not so well last season, and they are keeping Perez next season as well if Daniel does badly this season as well. What people do not understand about Perez's seat is that it is not just about Perez being good or bad, it's also about having an alternative, so that means if Perez is bad, but Daniel is even worse then how are they going to make that change?

Alternative to that would be Yuki Tsunoda, and I think he is too wild and uncontrollable, which means that we are talking about a situation that would not be simple for them to get him under control and help the team instead. It wouldn't be surprising at all to see RB sacking him. So far in the races, there has been a serious gap between him and Tsunoda. There are many races Ricciardo couldn't even complete. His mind is just somewhere else obviously. He isn't as competitive as in the past.  Sad  I really miss that Ricciardo driving for Red Bull...

The contract renewal with Perez is just nonsense as I already said. Even a 1+1 deal is meaningless while he is this horrible. Red Bull might even lose constructors championship this season because of Perez.

I hope we have next race as enjoyable as this one too.  Grin  Rain was the biggest factor though. If it weren't for that I assume it wouldn't be this chaotic.

I'm also sad for Ferrari. Leclerc was the victim of wrong tyre strategy. Sainz's DNF was because of his own mistake on slippery track. After this race indeed the gap between Verstappen and Leclerc has opened quite much. At least I'm trying to enjoy more exciting races this season. Catalunya track is also a track on which overtaking isn't too easy if I'm not mistaken. This makes me worried about watching a boring race but let's hope the opposite.

If only Ferrari strategists could do their job well, this could very well be achieved. Norris has made a huge improvement. He is really close to taking the 2nd place. McLaren is really getting better every year. This time big upgrades came much earlier and they are reaping the benefits now.  Smiley

Perez is doing really bad. If he hasn't signed the new contract officially yet then there is still an opportunity for Red Bull to reconsider.  Tongue
