I think I paid $180 for my "refurb through Newegg" 290s.

thanks for info..

At this point I am mining with 4x r9 nanos doing around 100mh at 750 watts

-65 mv 1000 clock  for gpu       500 clock  for memory   no mods

i'm consuming the same with my 5x970, 773w(system included) at 100MH, i think you can do 88MH at 320w(system excluded)

p.s. shouldn't nano be at 80w, with that mod?

I think his setting is not right. I use the mod BIOS with 6x nano. I can do 159 MH/s at 750 W. He should be much higher.

My 6xNano@[email protected]@133MHs using Heliox's -150mV rom mod

Did you use the -175mV or -200mV rom mod to get 159MHs?

I have similar setup with 6xNano. I run 900/260 MHz, with about 760W, 159 MH/s. I use the -200, -175 mod. I use the 93% platinum power supply.

so you use the DPM-175mv.rom file? What brand of Nano?
I am at -175 now, but I use 1060,300 getting 60MHs with 2 x Nanos.
How do you use the -200, reduce another 25 from -175?

I was lucky. So I use the -200 and -175 ROM. They are Sapphire cards.

4 cards work with -200, two cards work with -175.

There was a -200mV BIOS.

So I've finally consolidated my four 480s onto one platform, utilizing the Biostar Z170 board noted below.

However...  The stability of having all four cards hash consistently at/near 24-25 MH/s is just not there.  After a few hours, one of cards seems to drop down to about 8 MH/s and stays there.  Is this par for the course, or are other peoples' rigs "rock solid"?  I have a 750W gold-rated PSU pulling about 630W at the wall.  I do have a 850W I could swap around, if that would help. I've been contemplating a script that reboots the machine every 12 hours, or so, to get things to return back to normal.  Are other people rebooting often?

Could you please add your data here?

On the card dropping the hash - I had a similar problem with rig on 4 R9 R390 cards. It was one black sheep (PowerColor) which does not hold any settings except stock. At the moment I've stopped to over/under it - rig works perfectly

When you mine it, it is more profitable than the ETH, but when you sell, the price is lower.

It is not "profitable" - due to lower difficulty you getting more coins per MHs spent

And price is not volatile - it's going down as crazy

be careful  ETC is much lower in price then ETH  make sure you know what you are doing.

I sold mine yesterday at 0.004BTC - today it is 0.0023BTC

But who knows - maybe tomorrow it will 0.4BTC (I will be crying)

The ETC price is too volatile.  When you mine it, it is more profitable than the ETH, but when you sell, the price is lower.

Could someone sum up the ETC thing ? I'm not aware of it ... Sad

I know about the fork , but I thought it was not changing anything for us : as miner , we simply continue to mine Eth from our pools.
Could someone explain me what I did not understand??

some miners decided to continue mining on the fork that did NOT return the stolen DAO funds, and are calling that chain "ethereum classic"

Whether it develops into anything meaningful is yet to be seen - presumably the attacker will have te ability to flood the market with a large quantity of ETC from the hijacked DAO funds

It will be interesting to see how this plays out - presumably hashrate follows the money so the two competing currencies will only be as strong as their valuation, with an obvious winner probably emerging within a few weeks.

sense there maybe 6 month or more of life left mining eth i use eth to buy cards and buy some eth with light coins that i can mine with my Alchemist 256 and build a 12 card rig that way and  also mine eth with my two card rig i just build etc etc  and use my few sha256 miners and build my btc etc . ..  remember for me this is a hobby i have never ever really cared about RoI and kind of have free Electricity I pay for in other ways , so it's not free and  so far for me this strat seems to be working .

a used 290 sells for about what you sold your 390s for  but sense you cut the price to move your 390's id say about 178 to 190 ...or less     i was gonna offer but sense the 480 looks awesome I'm gonna holds off ...save the coins. if i do it right ill have just enough to get two 480 i hope then go from  there ....

House is getting hot. I made roi on the ones I sold.

I kept the nanos

My boys were telling me that a Nano or two in a mini ATX gaming rig is kinda popular nowadays.
With Nano's low power consumption and good cooling - I think no problems selling off these Nanos in the future.
Meanwhile, I configured 6xNano@[email protected]@133MHs using Heliox's -150mV rom mod - very stable.
