  This pipeline surveillance contract given to Tompolo will be fund by all the oil companies operating in the Niger Delta region,not the Federal Government. The rate of oil theft is high,as people refine crude oil locally in their camps after vandalizing the pipe. The oil companies decided to pay the Niger Delta youths this money in other for them to stop oil theft which they know Tompolo can secure the pipelines. It is the same pipeline surveillance contract that David Lyon is using to assist people.

 I accept this,it is an opportunity for the Niger Delta youths to benefit from their oil blocks. I don't think it is politics,If you are are part of the pipeline surveillance team,you can make good use of the money to add value to your life when you know what you are doing.
  For example,the Federal Government amnesty 2009 helped a lot of youths that were not militant but claimed to be one. A friend of my that was been paid 65000 maria monthly till date,used his money to train himself to the university and now he is a graduate. So I believe this pipeline surveillane work can also be a stepping stone for someone too.

It doesn't make it any better just because someone told you, and the contract has nothing to do with elections; Tompolo, with his 200 members from each state, can't even influence a governorship election, let alone a presidential election. As I previously stated, the entire contract began during the Goodluck Jonathan administration and was paused when production output was stable until last month, when it dropped below 1.5 million barrels per day due to a high level of oil theft in the region. I'm not a partisan, and the Nigeria election has nothing to do with me. With the high rate of inflation, unemployment, and poverty, I don't think any reasonable Nigerian will vote for a party rather than a candidate.

It would be very shameful seeing that our youths today can not learn from their past instead given a surveillance work to work with a notorious criminal to guide pipelines, buying the heart of youths with peanuts. Now lemme call your attention, how much do you think would be paid to youths who are being employed.

My own point on the meeting be say except na coincidence make them meet there but if to say na persin pay for the trip say make dem go dere go do meeting or say na tax payers money, me no see any sense for their journey dere.

If we are being honest, everything in Nigeria should not be seen as politics because it is dragging the country backwards. Tompolo has been on this contract since the GEJ administration, and the sole purpose was to protect oil facilities and combat illegal bunkering in the Niger Delta. When the Buhari-led administration came into power, they canceled the contract because they felt it was unnecessary, and declared him wanted. Today, the country is struggling to produce 1.2 million barrels per day, compared to the 2 million barrels per day the country was producing under GEJ when Tompolo was on the job. This is for the good of the country, not for political purposes.

APC Government which is led by Buhari has be given Tompolo the Niger Delta war lord a surveillance contract of billions nairas to guide the oil blocks in the terrain. Now why this contract is given? This contract is given because of the 2023 general election. APC Government is trying to buy the youths minds to join them. And the contract is to mobilize all the youths from the cross root. Each community in the Niger Delta will provide 200 youths for surveillance employment work. Niger Delta youths have been asking for this work since 1954 when Azik also disagreed with them from the ports.

It is only those youths that doesn't understand Politics will fall for these traps, and also the greedy ones. This is called Political calculation. I want to encourage my fellow youth. Please no matter what. Obi is the one. Collect the money and vote for Obi. Whether they look you or not.

Thank you @Coyster for echoing my points. While I understand where Adbitco is coming from, I do beg to differ. Just to buttress my point once again, I do not think these men actually left the shores of Nigeria just to have a meeting. What I think is that the meeting plans coincided with their abroad engagements and they just added it to their schedule. For me I am all in for whatever will bring peace, progress and unity to our beloved nation. 

Don't you think you are blowing things out of proportion here bro, to betray the country will take way more than just holding meetings outside Nigeria, take for example, APC have betrayed Nigeria because when they were voted in to lead the country a couple of years back, quite a lot of people had high hopes and aspirations that they were going to be the "change" we so wanted, but it has been the complete opposite since then till now, they have taken the country many miles backward, and the state in which we are in now is prolly the worst in our history. Now that is what you call a betrayal.

Having said that, i respect your opinion that they prolly should hold their meetings within our shores, and whilst i don't think it matters too much where they discuss issues of national interest, i also do not think you are wrong with your own opinion. Prolly that location was the best place all parties could convene at, maybe if it were held at a specific location in Nigeria, some of them might have turned down the meeting for security and personal reasons, thus if they can get a venue that will be convenient for all parties and ensure attendance is complete, then there is no problem with that for now. Don't worry, let us just work together and get our country back, then we prolly might not have to go anywhere to hold meetings of our national interest.
