Ok. Im at my wits end with this board. Im trying to install smos and I keep getting:

usbb 1-2: device decriptor read/64 error -110
usbb 1-2: device decriptor read/64 error -110
usbb 1-2: device decriptor read/64 error -71
usbb 1-2: device decriptor read/64 error -71
usbb 1-2: device not accepting address 5 error -71
usbb 1-2: device not accepting address 6 error -71
usb usb1-port2: unable to enumerate USB device.

I have tried it with a USB3 stick and the msata with diff mouse and keyboard combos. Tried 2 versions of smos. using etcher.

I have the new server PSU and new board.

Its driving me nuts and shouldnt be this hard.

Getting ready to switch to hive and see if that makes any diff (but i dont want to)

Mine works great with Hive out of the box. I also tested this with Ethos and no problem. Sorry I don't use SMOS so can't comment on that one

Are you running the new server psu on 110v?

Starting to get a bit frustrated w our friends at Octominer.  My shipment, according to your shipping partner, has received our shipping info (for over a week) but apparently in all that time it has yet to ship.  I use the chat feature on the Octominer website and they have zero information to assist me.  What is the delay?  When will orders ship?

Hey Chris!

I received your email and already replied to it. The shipment status has now updated on DHL and your order should arrive to you within the next week.  Smiley
Here is a short summary:

We are sorry to hear that your shipment status has not been updated on DHL.
We are currently shipping hundreds of packages daily and sometimes it can happen that a shipments label gets damaged or comes off when they packages are picked up from our warehouse by our shipping agent (4PX) and delivered to their warehouse. If that happens then it will get stuck in our shipping agents warehouse and the status wont be updated in the DHL system.

I have a question.  I have the newest octominer server PSU. Can I split one of the 6+2 pin to 2 x PCIe 8 (6+2) to run a 1080 ti? or would that be too much load on one connection? I will only be running 4 cards on the board but would like to add more via risers (to be cooler) later and leave some connections free for it if possible.

It will be fine to split the 6+2 into 2x 8PIN.

Try to ask about another carrier like EMS or regular post. They also provide tracking number. Delivery time could be longer, but you definitely will receive your order.

I Ordered 5 Onda D1800 motherboards recently from Letine/Alibaba and got them shipped via DHL using the same address, so I'm wondering why they can't ship?
Anyway will try to ask for another shipment method.

Hi!

We understand your frustration and we are sorry for not being able to ship to your country at the moment.
As we stated the reason for not being able to ship out was because there are more regulations and paperwork to fill out to ship to your country and we did not meet the shipping deadline because of the Chinese New Year Holiday that just started in China. If it were not for the Holidays then we could have shipped out your order. Again, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience we caused you. After the Holidays end at the end of February we can still ship out your order if you are interested.

Thanks for your replay, guess I have no other choice, I will wait then.
I will send you an email to confirm, thank you.

Well, I'm pretty disappointed, I got no single answer for all the emails I sent to [email protected] about my shipment, I'm still waiting for my motherboard since 24 Jan.
I was supposed to get my motherboard in March batch...

We have other GPUs also and all of our prices for GPUs are lower than the competitors and we have stock in hand.  Smiley

https://octominer.com/product-category/gpu/ only shows the P104 at the moment, have you sold out of others?

The 1060 is listed too.

You guys definitely have the best price that I’ve seen for these with availability, unfortunately it’s the best of a price that is still too high for what your getting. Between market conditions, dropping gpu prices and possible Eth asic on he horizon there’s just no reason to spend $640 on a gpu that is only good at mining Eth and nothing else.

im not ripping your price, just the price of those cards in general. they dont perform well enough to warrant that price IMO when you can buy 1060's that are more cost efficient.

buying P104's, $650 gets you 40MH
buying 1060's, $650 gets you ~50+ MH

but you still didnt answer my questions.

does your price include shipping?
what is the power draw from the P104 card @ 40MH?

Yeah, the 1060s hashrate per dollar is better but you will have more cost for the rig per GPU for the hashrate and it pretty much evens out. Also the 1060 is 3GB so ETH mining is limited til April 2019.
Power draw is 120W at 40.5MH/S.
Shipping per GPU is 10USD extra if buying more than 5pcs.

Price is still too high in my opinion considering you only get decent hashrate on ethereum, most other algo's are equal or less than other equivalent gpu's with a much smaller resale market, less warranty etc. Especially if claims of etherum asic/modified gpu miner end up being true, then this card loses its claim on the only algo that its decent at. Just my opinion. If it was around the $500 range then I'd consider it, but paying $650 for basically 1 algo just isn't worth it to me; may be for some others building large farms etc and only farming Eth.

We have Nvidia P104 Mining GPUs In Stock! 40-41MH/S at 120W only.

BRAND NEW!

ETHEREUM HASHRATE 40-41MH/S

PRICE FOR 1-5 UNITS – 645 USD

PRICE FOR 5-20 UNITS – 640 USD

PRICE FOR 20-50 UNITS – 630 USD

https://octominer.com/shop/inno3d-nvidia-p104-mining-gpu-40-41mh-s-eth/

wow. congrats on being the first legitimate seller to offer these in low quantities. does your price include shipping? what is the power draw of this card running at 40MH?

still a bit high on $/MH though @ $16.13/MH. with any mining card you're paying for hashrate. lower is better.

i mean, worst case 1060s can get you 20MH (hynix mem cards), for $250 (3gb model). thats 12.50$/MH
if you get a good performing card at a good price, you can do say 24-25MH for about $300. thats $12.00/MH
my best card (asus 3gb, samsung) does 25MH, that i paid $265 for ($10.60/MH)
my median cards (evga 6gb, micron) do 24MH, that i paid $287/ea for ($11.97/MH)
my worst card (asus 6gb, micron) does 23MH, that i paid $266 for ($11.56/MH)

then on the AMD side, if you can get deals on cards (still possible, just have to be vigilant, lurk craigslist and ebay/ r/hardwareswap). 570s and 580s are even better.

i bought 6x RX570 4GB cards before the new year for $240 each. and each one does 28-29MH after some tweaking. thats $8.42/MH
and the 2 RX 580 4GB i bought are around the $10/MH price (for what i paid)
the only downside is that the AMD cards in my experience require a lot more tweaking to get them optimized and stable.

side note, it's hilarious that these cards have SLI connectors.

The way its worked for me so far is that if I turn the psu off, the system will power on automatically when you apply power. if you do a shutdown say from windows, then the motherboard will power off but the psu does not since the 24pin is just jumpered it is always on. I noticed this since I use the octominer case and the case funs stay on even if the system is shut down. one of the reasons i installed a fan controller. If i shut the UPS down from windows I can turn it back on with the power button, I can also do a system reset with the reset button np as well as do a hard shut down by holding down the power button.

@octominer  can you provide the technical specs for how the power on/off circuitry is designed?  Apparently it was designed differently than 99% of motherboards out there to where an optoisolated gate is not able to power the board on and off.  Thanks

fwiw my onda b250 d8p v1 has the same bug, power button will turn it on but not off. cant see anything in the bios either.

sorry for the non helpful reply, just another datapoint.

Hey!
Our motherboard does actually support turning off from the power switch.
Please have a look here to see exactly how to connect the button switches and LEDs to the motherboard.
https://youtu.be/49YBnjIHMDc?t=538
Odd, how the rig turns on when the PSU is turned on.  What type of switch is used on your case i.e. normally open momentary switch, etc.?

That's a BIOS setting, you can disable it.
Turn on when power is enabled.

So you're saying that by default, the power button is ignored and the motherboard will turn on, and stay on, when power is supplied?  In other words, with the default BIOS setting, the power button is ignored?

I'll play around with the BIOS to see if I can change it so that the power button becomes functional.  Most motherboard work somewhat different in that they have a BIOS setting that allows the motherboard to turn back on by default after a power loss.
