Gangully recoverd already, as far as ICC seat goes i think he's going to stick with the BCCI for next 4-5 years, their might be some chance after that. Sangakkara is excellent choice but i believe he doesn't have that kind of backing even his own cricket board doesn't support him much.

If I am not wrong, the supreme court of India has already enforced term limits on the post of BCCI president. So Sourav won't be able to continue for 4-5 years as the BCCI president. I guess after his term as the BCCI president is over, then he will target the post of ICC chairman. But again, that won't be something that the parasitic businessmen gang would be happy about.

It will be very difficult for Sangakkara to compete for the presidency of the ICC. But it is very easy for Sourav Ganguly. I hope I will see Sourav as the president of ICC. If he wants to run for the presidency of the ICC, the BCCI will give him full support.
I heard that Sourav Ganguly recently suffered a cardiac attack and with his health not looking good, do you think that he will be running for these positions. I hope he is recovering from that and i was surprised when i heard the news as he was looking healthy and was a sportsman and he is relatively still young.  Not too keen on the politics but Sangakkara is a good choice.

Its not easy for Sangakkara to next president of ICC and its also too early talk about this all he need some good time and good favour of big 3 which is not easy because here most of boards are fighting for their own sack and they will never allow person like this to be in line of this place but if he will able then surely its could be great for game of cricket.

That's true. The businessmen/politician gang (including people like  Giles Clarke, N Srinivasan and Wally Edwards) have held power for so long and they will not give up their control that easily. If they do that, then their relevance will end completely. Even recently, BCCI was controlled by Srinivasan, before Ganguly became the president with the support from the ruling party. But ECB and CA are still controlled by the businessmen, along with NZC.

I did not mean that Sachin or Ponting should be given the responsibility of the president of ICC. I have shown them as an example. If a respected former cricketer like them takes charge of the ICC, the overall development of the ICC will be achieved, I wanted to means this. It could be Sourav Ganguly or Kumar Sangakara. But that person must be a former and respected player. Who has received the love of many people. I also think that Saurav or Sangakkara is the right person to serve as the president of the ICC.

I have checked the list of former presidents and chairmen of the ICC. From Narayanaswami Srinivasan to Greg Barclay, all of the chairmen were businessmen, with no relation with cricket. And talking about the ICC presidents, only three out of the 12 presidents were actually cricketers - Clyde Walcott from West Indies, Colin Cowdrey of England and Zaheer Abbas from Pakistan.
Businesses will definitely focus on profitability rather than the development of cricket. And I think that's what's happening. The presidents of the ICC are not taking proper steps for developing any small teams. They are mainly monitoring the financial aspects of ICC.

Before the elections for the chairman post was conducted, there were rumors that Kumar Sangakara would be one of the candidates. I was literally praying for that to happen, because I knew that he would do a lot of good to the sport. But just a few weeks before the election, he got in to some spat with the SLCB and the local politicians, and eventually he dropped the idea of contesting the elections. That was a big loss to cricket.
I would be happy to see Kumar Sangakkara or Sourav Ganguly in charge of the ICC. I hope Kumar Sangakkara will contest for the presidency in the next elections. We can see the improvement of small parties if he becomes the president of ICC

The economic side must be monitored. This is one of his responsibilities as the ICC president. But at the same time, it is their responsibility to improve all the cricket playing nations. But the current president of the ICC is not doing anything to improve the small party. They should keep these parties alive. This is good for cricket

You are right, more development of cricket is not possible if greedy people like Greg Barclay are at the top position of the ICC. If any of the former players like Rickey Ponting or Sachin Tendulkar were given the responsibility of ICC, they might have dedicated themselves to the development of cricket. Greg Barclay doesn’t seem to be working for the development of any small team.

I don't know much about the capabilities of Ponting, but I don't think that Sachin Tendulkar is suitable for the job. For sometime, he was a member of parliament in India, but his contribution was near zero. He has stayed away from BCCI and the state cricket associations. On the other hand, I believe that someone like Saurav Ganguly or even Kumar Sangakkara would be suitable for the job. Ponting would be a good choice as well. But we all know that they will never get the chairman post, as the "businessmen cabal" will prevent the ex-players from becoming administrators.

The ICC should take necessary steps to spread cricket to other countries. And to co-operate with countries that are already playing cricket but not in a good position. Cooperating with countries like Ireland, Kenya, Zimbabwe UAE. But I think ICC is not fulfilling their responsibilities properly. Teams like Kenya are losing. The ICC should bring them back to cricket. I think organizing more and more series between these teams. For now, this is the solution I think.

When Shashank Manohar became the ICC chairman, he tried to help the associate nations and was able to slow down the slide for sometime. But with Greg Barclay as the new chairman, this support has ended. IMO, the biggest issue with ICC is that it is being managed by greedy people like Barclay who doesn't have any connection to cricket. On the other hand, sports bodies such as FIFA are being managed by the former international players and they always prioritize the popularity of the sport over money.

I think the ICC should take the necessary steps so that the smaller teams don’t get lost. Because the more countries participate in the game of cricket, the more interesting cricket will become. The ICC should organize more series between smaller teams so that they can at least survive. Maybe one day a smaller team will come out on top. As has come to Afghanistan. Afghanistan now has the ability to beat teams like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan.

The ICC is primarily a money-minded organization and unlike the other sports bodies such as FIFA or FIH, they don't care much about the well being of the sport or that of the players. There was a golden opportunity to increase the popularity of cricket, by including it within the Olympic games. When Jagmohan Dalmiya was the ICC president, talks with the International Olympic Committee was proceeding well and everyone were hopeful that cricket would have been included in the Olympic games from 2012 onwards.

But then the combination of Sharad Pawar/N Srinivasan took over the ICC and they along with their sidekicks from the CA and the ECB spent most of their time in cancelling all the Dalmiya-era policies. The big-3 grouping held power for less than a decade, but during this time they managed to push cricket backward by at least 3 decades. The damage they did to the game is still there and it will take ages to make a complete recovery.
Even ICC is not doing good but after introduction of twenty/20 and Ten League we have some good chance of spreading cricket in many countries because these two formats can bring some good attraction for many peoples instead of test and ODI but still need some good effort from this organization which is not doing their own duty as its need for popularity of this gentlemen game.

I agree with you. Many of their talented and skilled players are now on the brink of retirement. They will retire in a few years. And now they fail to find young talented players. we will not get any good performance from them in the next few years. Maybe Ireland will lose like Kenya

Well.. I have no doubt about it. Ireland is a dying team. Even test nations such as Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka are going down the drain, and it will be difficult for smaller teams such as Ireland to survive. What happened to Kenya will repeat, perhaps for the last time (after this there won't be any teams like Kenya and Ireland). Two factors have led to the demise of cricket in the smaller nations. The ICC financial model now heavily favors the top 3-4 sides, with associate nations only getting the crumbs. And secondly, the representation law was changed to allow foreigners to represent national sides. Now richer teams like UAE and Oman are importing players directly from India and Pakistan and smaller teams such as Ireland are unable to compete against them.

There are many talented players in the Irish team. If they work hard and practice more then maybe in the next few years we will see the Irish team in a better position. The Afghan team is now in a very good position in just a few years. I hope Ireland will at least be able to defeat Afghanistan very soon

Talented players are there in the Irish team, but most of them are nearing retirement. Kevin O'Brien is almost 37, while William Porterfield is 36 years. Tim Murtagh retired last year, while Boyd Rankin may be having at most one year of international cricket left in him. Even Paul Stirling is in his 30s. They have been simply unable to find younger replacements to these players.

I have never seen women's cricket before. But since the Women’s World Cup I’ve been trying to keep track of the different series of women’s teams. And sometimes I bet on my favorite team. Women's cricket and boys under 19 are very under-rated
Even i started watching Woman's cricket just to place a bet on the match especially when England and Australia are playing and even though the odds are not that big but it is a sure shot win and it is easier to identity the winner. T20 matches are more competitive than ODI for Women's and the sports book needs to provide much better betting options for these matches.

It difficult to choose the winner between England and Australia women team as both of them are strong teams. Its easy to bet on matches like between England and Pakistan women cricket team. Although the odds for England will not be attractive but the risk of losing will be very less too.
In women's cricket, all teams except England and Australia are still in average level. If any other team plays against England and Australia, we can definitely bet in the favor of Australia or England. In the England vs Pakistan series, I think Pakistan will whitewash. They will not be able to win a single match.
You are predicting very quickly about this all because there are many cases we have big teams lost badly against very lower ranks teams and in cricket its very common Pakistan women cricket team is very new but still able to fight I watch few matches so my feeling this can one sided series but still we will watch intreseting cricket.

Mate, women's cricket is not in the previous state. Women play a lot of good cricket these days. Of course we can't compare them with men's cricket but women have improved a lot in cricket in the last few years. You can see the highlights of the previous Women's World Cup. Then you will have a better idea about women's cricket

If that is the case, then credit should be given to Cricket Australia. Without bothering much about the financials, they set up the WBBL, which gave a platform for the women cricketers from all around the world. They did more to women's cricket than the ICC plus all the other boards combined. On the other hand, the richest cricket board in the world (BCCI) has resorted to delaying tactics to avoid setting up the WIPL.

Women cricket matches are not so popular among the men. Women may watch them who like cricket but i don't think any men are interested in these matches. Even i did not know any single women player's name of any country.

England women cricketers share excitement over Pakistan tour and so do the pakistani women team. England women team is world champions while Pakistani women team have no match with them. It will be a good exposure for the pakistani women team to play two T20 and 3 ODI with them.

Schedule of the Series:-

14 October :: 1st T20I

15 October :: 2nd T20I

18 October :: 1st ODI

20 October :: 2nd ODI

22 October :: 3rd ODI
I look forward to watching this series. Although the series will be one-sided. I don't think Pakistan will be able to win a single match. But playing against the world champions will increase the experience of the Pakistan women's team.
