It was a flat track and the Indian bowling lineup was composed of inexperienced players. Putting up a total of 262 is nothing out of ordinary. Both the Sri Lankan bowlers (Isuru Udana and Dushmantha Chameera) look completely clueless on how to handle these two. And once again, it shows how good the surface is for batting. It will be interesting to know Arjuna Ranatunga's opinion at this point. He called the Indian squad "second string" a few days back. BTW.. Prithvi seems to be in some trouble after getting hit in his helmet.

Sri Lanka managed to score only 262 runs. We have to remember that Sri Lanka is playing against the second-tier team of India. India's top star players will not play in this series. Top 3 batted okay i guess, there was no seam movement. All of them faced 20 -30+ balls and got their start 20s-30s runs, sadly they failed to convert their inning into 50s and lost control against Kulcha (Kuldeep+Chahal). I had my doubt about Kuldeep's spot in the team but its good to see they that both are playing.

Not sure about 280 ish score as they lost 4 wickets and score is 141/4 with 18 overs left in the Bank. Another partnership is building up for the 5th wicket and there is no demon on the wickets, if they bat sensibly here then they should touch 250 mark, after all they have 5 all rounders in the team, at least on paper, let's see.

Sri lanka would rely on surprise factor as most of them are unknown in international arena and its hard to make any full proof strategy against new opponent. The best India could do is focus on their strong area.

There have been incidents in the past when an underrated team defeated a top notch team.

Yes, there are incident of wins from underrated teams against top teams. Most of the wins have taken place when the underrated teams are in a progressive form. Now we can't state any team to be in such a form and the support from the boards were big factor for the progress of teams. This can be experienced good with teams like India, New Zealand, Australia and England which is a reason for the continuity in performance.

Zimbabwe should not be even ranked. Because I don't think that they are any better than the teams that are not included in the ranking (such as Scotland). I could count only four Zimbabwe players who have the quality to play ODIs - Blessing Muzarabani, Brendan Taylor, Sean Williams and Sikandar Raza. And the last two were not part of the team yesterday. Others are just to make up the numbers. Every year they get the opportunity to play against the top sides on a regular basis (a luxury that teams such as Ireland and Afghanistan) doesn't have, and despite that there is zero improvement in their performance.

If Bangladesh team can put a decent total on board then they have the bowlers to trouble the Zimbabwe batsman and that is what we saw today. Even though Bangladesh struggled in the middle overs they were able to put a good target on the board then they can easily foil the plan of Zimbabwe to win the match and Bangladesh will win the series.

Another match that i was anticipating was South Africa and Ireland, to everyone's surprise they won a match against South Africa and if they could somehow manage to hold them or weather intervention they could win a historic series against them but South Africa won the match easily.

You forgot to take the name of Sri Lanka. It is difficult to predict when and how this team will perform. Betting on cricket matches is still becoming very difficult.
