@pakhittheboss I can’t believe it that these legendary player’s were interrogated by the police, and I’m hoping that they will file a defamation case against the minister for trying to tarnish their image.

Sri Lanka police call-off 2011 World Cup final match-fixing probe over lack of evidenceThe Sri Lankan police on Friday (July 3) dropped the match-fixing investigation regarding the 2011 World Cup final after they failed to find any concrete evidence of Sri Lankan players letting India win as per latest reports.
Former skipper Kumar Sangakkara, ex-chief selector Aravinda de Silva and a couple of others were interrogated this week over suspicions that have dogged the match for years.
"We are satisfied with their explanation," a top police official told AFP.
"The inquiry is now closed." "They had reasonable explanations about the changes that were made to the final squad," the officer added.
"We found no evidence of any wrongdoing."
@JSRAW this is not surprising because there was no evidence in the first place, and the police should not have interrogated these player’s as this was a baseless accusation.

I would disagree with the second sentence. It is not the investigation, but unsubstantiated rumors which are going to tarnish the reputation of the players. An investigation, if conducted properly can undo any damage which was brought as a result of these rumors. And this is what happened now. The police department has clarified that there is no evidence to substantiate any of the wild allegations.
That said, I am afraid that the damage is already done. Kumar Sangakkara was being talked about as one of the potential candidates to replace Shashank Manohar. But now, I don't think that he'll jump in to the fray.
@vishnu.reang it was termed as an investigation but I don’t think it has damaged Sangakkara credentials, and if he qualifies to succeed Mr. Shashank Manohar, then he should file his nomination without bothering about this investigation, as every one knows that it was a false accusation and further the police too has given him the clean chit.
