Hello everyone! Been reading closely, bought myself a sizeable chunk of silk and am happily staking away.
I used the download files from the forum and was actually a quick and snappy install. Just have a little glitch with the tiny camels when I stake - their heads are cutoff.
Will the new release fix the slight graphics details? And can anybody teach me how to use the messenger feature on the wallet? I cant seem to figure it out.
Or will the upgrade make messaging you guys from the wallet easier? 24 hours to release? Did I read that correct?
Hello! Silkcoin will be swapped to Silk at some point in the near future, see the infographic in the op for the feature-list. The new release will have a new UI. If you've seen the blackcoin wallet it's basically that with a revamped colour scheme and a new logo. The old one may look snazzy with the starry backdrop and camels and whatnot, but run it for a while and you'll find it's a monster of a resource hog. I can't leave it open for too long as I don't like to see my laptop suffer. Running a wallet shouldn't max out cpu cores. Doubly so for a PoS coin. This won't be an issue with the new wallet and chain. The new version won't have instant messaging, but no one uses it after the novelty wares of so I wouldn't worry about it.
Silk will form a symbiotic relationship with DarkSilk and Weaver by way of mechanisms that at the moment are known only to the devs and Orestes, but presumably will be revealed to us at least in part in tomorrow's announcement.
You should really have done enough research to know most of this already before buying a sizeable chunk. Keep investing that way in projects on this forum and you'll quickly find yourself relieved of your satoshis hombre. Happily this time you're ok as the team seem dedicated and have been very diligent. I still don't know exactly what they're up to but I'm looking forward to at least some of the remaining blanks being filled in tomorrow.
