Bonus amount has not been confirmed but the related party ensures that there will be a bonus usually around $100-300k USD for gold medal based on 2016 olympics
Especially if this is the only gold medal it will certainly be very appreciated. Still hoping for another gold medal.

Yep, it is a motivate, appreciate and prosper for athletes. So for the time being it absolutely must exist. Apart from that, from the state there is also a bonus waiting for the medalists. If in Indonesia 1 billion for 3rd place, 2nd place 3 billion and first place 5 billion in Indonesian currency. Besides that, I think there are prizes from the athlete sponsors.

the day is here. Football semifinals,  Mexico - Brazil,  Japan - Spain. First match will be my main ticket:

this betbuilder @3.1 looked really good on paper, but now i have a feeling both teams will cancel each other out, game will finish 0-0 and they'll go to extra time  Roll Eyes

Speaking of medals. It looks like China is making good progress in the Gold medals.
Could it be that for the first time in many years, the US will not be able to win more gold medals compared to other countries?

They are not always at the top, it's actually the USA who are always at the top and China is just at the top 3.

last 2016 the Rio Olympics, we can see the medal tally.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016_Summer_Olympics_medal_table

Quote
Rank   NOC   Gold   Silver   Bronze   Total
1    United States (USA)   46   37   38   121
2    Great Britain (GBR)   27   23   17   67
3    China (CHN)   26   18   26   70

Great Britain was the surprise package last time, and they narrowly managed to defeat China. But this time, both the US and UK are doing poorly. It may be due to the COVID pandemic, or may be due to the different weather conditions. Overall, the European and American teams have performed badly this time. And this includes a few other teams, such as Russia, France, Germany and Canada. On the other hand, Asian teams have performed better than what was expected from them (China, Japan, Australia, South Korea.etc).

Yes, they were surprised and now they are down again, so this country is not consistent. However, for China, they have been consistent though they have not topped the medal tally yet, in 2008, they are the next USA though they hosted the event, and until now they are still next to the USA but we are seeing a close race, so they have a chance to end up as the number 1.

US is catching up fast, but I'm here not for making any judgement. However, Summing up the current medal count which is unfair to host Japan as their positioning low in table. The greatness of sports isn't on winning yet in participating in it. Let’s believe in the spirit of the Olympic.

Definitely now the competition is also getting tougher but China is leading well with 29 gold medals and US with 22 at 2nd rank. It would be interesting to see if this position till the ends remains same or will there be any changed in the rankings. Its always the best matches I feel to watch during the Olympics as across world best players we get to watch.

At least, Ginting got a bronze medal, he won without much fighting, congrats.

Finally a gold medal for Indonesian women's doubles. This is new history, they were able to reach the final and win. CHEN Qing Chen and JIA Yi Fan lost in straight sets. Chinese doubles pair lost 21-19, 21-15. They are the fourth seed and representatives of Indonesia are not seeded.

Nurul Akmal. she growing up in 5th position on qualification Adi Tashkent, Uzbekistan 2020. if she can pass the target 263 possible bronze medal. but I won't much expect because his best score is 261.

For Nurul Akmal it seems he is only in rank 5 he managed to lift 115 kilograms. He has a difference of 25 kilograms from Li Wenwen in first place

The journey of the Indonesian women's doubles was not in vain by being able to provide the opportunity for the national anthem to be played.  Even though if you look at the US, the conditions are very much different, but it is a pride for a country that does not support athletes but there are still those who can excel.  Their hard work paid off.  They came home not only with trophies and pride but a bonus from the president also waiting for them.

USA finally won their first Golden medal in athletics event. Valarie Allman won wpmen discus throw competition. Surprisingly, S. Perkovic ended without medal. Maybe it's because of complicated weather conditions she didn't managed to make good attempt. There was raining heavily and competition was interrupted, later it was very wet everywhere.
Man 3000 metres steeplechase for the first time since 1980 (!!!) has been won not by athlete from Kenya - they dominated there for so long. Soufiane El Bakkali from Morocco won it.
Badminton singles final by Viktor Axelsen from Denmark. It's impressive how confident he won competition where mainly Asians dominate. And how emotionally he reacted after he won.

In the mens high jump we have a shared gold medal by Mutaz Essa Barshim og Qatar and Gianmarco Tamberi of Italy both refused to fight it out, history made here.
Not following really all events but catching that scene Live is something else. I didn't figure out what's going on first, the Italian dude almost died crying and the Qatari was happy too. Seeing it again in reddit and the comments there made my day. It was the best thing to watch. Fair play.

It's time for the Asian countries now, Philippines got their first gold already and it looks like there are two gold to come coming from women's boxing and men's boxing, I'm very optimistic with that and I like what is happening as this big sports even are not only dominated by the Americans and Europeans, Asians now are competing pretty well.

We also have final women's doubles  Rahayu/Polii (ID) vs Chen/Jia(CNA) or 6th rank vs 3rd rank, Chen/Jia have better record in last 9 matches with 6 wins
But it's not a guarantee that they will win because I see a lot of surprises in badminton, we hope to get one gold today from Rahayu/Poli
I'm surprised you from Indonesia either, I never seen you. at least, we got it. at the moment Indonesia growing up to 35th with 1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze. I hope Ginting gets a bronze medal today.

Yes congratulations on the first gold medal  Cheesy this is a tradition in every olympics one of the Indonesian contingents will definitely get a gold medal
In the other finals, Ginting should have no trouble against Cordon because based on the ranking Cordon is ranked 59th and Ginting 5th
At least, Ginting got a bronze medal, he won without much fighting, congrats. We have one more game which can possible get the medal, weight lifting, Nurul Akmal. she growing up in 5th position on qualification Adi Tashkent, Uzbekistan 2020. if she can pass the target 263 possible bronze medal. but I won't much expect because his best score is 261.

But I'm amazed that lots of countries has at least 1 medal, and not all medals are won by 20-30 countries, while others "just participate". Glad that a lot countries has their Olympic heroes this time.

Btw Australia is looking good that time. They were on top11 in Rio, now they are top4. They must be checked for doping. Just kidding Cheesy Happy for them.

That may be because the sports infrastructure is improving in other countries. One or two decades ago, a handful of developed countries used to dominate the medals table. That has changed now. Developing nations such as Brazil, Kosovo, Ecuador and Cuba are already in the medals table. It was China which first showed that Olympics is not a monopoly of the developed nations. And look where they are right now. Only the former-USSR group of nations have gone down during the last few years, in terms of medal winning capability.

The fact that China has always been at the top of the medal table during the last 3 Olympics is, in my view, clearly due to the fact that they themselves hosted the 2008 Olympic Games. At the latest when it was announced in July 2001 that the 2008 Olympic Games would take place in Beijing, huge efforts were made in China to build up or improve an infrastructure for every Olympic sport (also for the small, not so popular ones). Logically, China is still benefiting from these efforts today and will continue to do so in the future. China is first in the medal table because they are very successful especially in the "smaller" sports such as shooting.

Lots of changes in this Olympics compared to the past, China was really dominating and I think they'll win on the most number of medals won this event. They are so focused on this, and they want to prove to the world that they can be number 1 and they have their chance now and they are doing it, I'm also amazed that Asian countries are dominating, this is a good sign that Asian countries have improved their sports level.

It is amazing how the Chinese are dominating the medals table. They are now far ahead of the United States. Chinese athletes have won gold in gymnastics and shooting, where they were not being given much chances. For some unknown reason, the performance from the US and Russia have been quite ordinary so far. Russia have now dropped out of the top-4, and they are behind Australia now. The Great Britain is another country which have disappointed the sports fans. They were at the second place in Rio 2016.
