The government is just trying to limit people from gambling because they see it's easier for them to gamble online as evidence by what operators are making in terms of revenue.

What triggers about this banning is those incident where many gamblers(Sabongero name in Philippines) gone missing plus there are so many testament that their lives or other person they know has been totally wrecked that's why the government has found valid grounds to temporarily suspends its operation and settle first their issue to see if they can go back or not.

It will be there only the online betting will be prohibited. There are newcomers to this game who have misconceptions regarding to the ban, online sabong who gained a lot of interest during the lockdown gives gamblers easy access to this game. The sad thing that happened, many falls to addictions, we can't deny the fact that the facilitator gives a good lift for the economy but the on the other side,

lots of people suffered from losing a huge amount of money to the point that they've fallen into big debt are also part of considerations why the President decides to close or to prohibit the online existence of this kind of betting.

Afaik, PH is where you can find a lot of cockfighting events the same way you can find a lot of cockpits in every cities and provinces. One of the industries that another good contributor to our country was E-sabong or cockfighting especially as how it got it's limelight and hype from our people. Almost everyone was involve and has been joining e-sabong as content creators or youtubers are one of their main promoters and advertisers.
No wonder even teenagers who doesn't have any knowledge with cockfighting are applying as an e-sabong operator. One other thing, as to why it got so many players as joining or betting is too easy if you have a sim card.
Anyway, it's a good thing that this activity has been stopped as there are too many negative aspects it involves mainly is animal cruelty. It is an activity that is still practiced in many countries around the world but that is slowly losing some popularity as people are now more aware about animal rights and similar causes, the truth is that unlike other activities in which animals are also participants, like races, putting two animals to fight is simply wrong, so I am glad that something like this is is being banned as even if the money the government gets from this seems to be significant, sometimes we need to put our principles above any monetary gain.
