Well, it is a good news because there are reported cases that parents are even selling their own babies to feed their gambling addiction and people being gunned down because they cant pay their gambling debts. If this would continue on, I dont know what will happen maybe it would even prey on the younger generation.

Gcash is the only or the fastest way if withdrawal of your money if you win such game. Cause all you need is the one time passwords (OTP) from your g cash number then  withdrawal in a easy way. While you are using crypto their are many steps to withdraw like asking KYC or and then from crypto convert to fiat  in order  to withdraw which is it's take time  while in Gcash easy and no more hassle .

Crypto exchanges and GCASH both have KYC. You can't use them if you don't comply with KYC that's why I don't see why you are comparing that feature.

GCASH becomes more convenient in online cockfighting in PH not just because of easy deposit and withdrawal.

In the GCASPP app itself, you can access the online betting (Pitmasters) different from the only method before that you can only play thru an agent and send them the money. Since it was easily accessed on the GCASH app, the deposit is just one click making the whole gambling easily accessible by almost all GCASH users.

Do you think that if crypto is legalized in PH, and crypto is used in cockfighting gambling, the government should allow these sports?

Crypto use in gambling in the Philippines is a scenario far from reality as of the moment because it is only a few people who are aware that cryptocurrency exists and besides, internet connection in the PH is one of the slowest in the world.

The question of whether gambling should be allowed on cockfighting is a secondary thing, the point here is that government should ban the sport itself. When there will be no cockfighting, there can't be any gambling on it.

Gambling in cockfights has long been there in the Philippines for a long time, it was even said that it already exists during the Spain colonization.

The one that is banned is the online betting of cockfights because people in the PH can already bet anytime and anywhere they want, too easy to bet that it leads to the destruction of some of the families as some individuals lack the discipline/control that it goes out of hand.

Offline gambling of cockfights in the arena continues here for the info of everybody.

This is exactly my thoughts as well. Cockfighting promotes animal cruelty and I don't really get why people are so satisfied betting on it despite knowing that these creatures get hurt in the process. I don't see what's so enjoyable about it and how they manage to be thrilled with the idea of it given that there are many other things to bet upon without resorting to violence such as pitting animals for the sake of money. If they want to, they could watch wrestling or boxing which involves human with consent to fight each other. Not animals who can't say no and can only oblige with their owners.
Like what most said, if you are from this country, you will know why people are dying to for this kind of game. It isn't cruel as other animals because it was only chicken and we also kill the chicken to eat it plus each of us has their own satisfaction or happiness. You might find your happiness on a more common thing but some wants more than it.

Cockfighting is a long running game on this country, and people are used to this already. They don't feel bad anymore about the chicken or if they die in the fight. You compare sports which humans are involved but I think that is more unacceptable if someone will get injured or die during the match. Human lives are more important than the animals, I believe.

Was it only in PH? I was curious if there is an online cockfighting that accepted cryptocurrency, I think restriction of this kind of matches should be worldwide I think most of the rooster are dead after fighting. I mean this is way more bad than horse racing since people let the rooster fight to death.

Afaik, PH is where you can find a lot of cockfighting events the same way you can find a lot of cockpits in every cities and provinces. And NO, I don't know or see platforms that offers crypto betting with cockfighting (atleast here in PH). That's all because there's not enough client on crypto betting with cockfighting in the country. Most crypto users here are either traders, investors in all sort of NFT, or gambling in an online gambling websites.

Maybe the reason why online gambling here or traditional gambling here in Ph it's because crypto is not yet honored in here, many people will be glad if crypto can be used in that kind of gambling but I still don't support cockfighting even though my grandfather used to be addictive to cockfighting when we are still young way back 90's.

In our society there will always be layers more susceptible to various addictions whether it be gambling, alcohol or drugs. It is good that the state is paying attention to the existing problems, but it seems to me that the prohibition will not solve them. We need to develop a comprehensive program with treatment for addicts, encouraging athletes, and building new infrastructure, which would attract young people to do something useful, rather than seeking opportunities to brighten up their leisure time on the Internet or in bad company.

I think it is not banned yet and it is still in operation, if we look at the sites they still got their event going on here is the screenshot,

And the Pagcor appeal to what the President wanted, in banning the E-Sabong the president should have considered first before giving a decision, but the President has said that revenue collected from E-Sabong is not worth the social damage caused by the online gambling activity, instead of many taking profit it causes much damage to the society,

In my opinion, I am not against Banning E-Sabong here in the Philippines, I have known people whose 16 years old son has access to this kind of activity and because it is easy to access and they can fake identity, they can play this gambling app, and now their kid is addicted and always asking for money, to play E-Sabong, But I guess this is just one of the problem of the online app, that the E-Sabong needs to look on to, I think the problem is the application is very easily accessed by people 18 below, and we all know that the problem of gambling is an addiction just like drug addiction, but I am neutral to this issue because there are certain people that getting addicted to E-Sabong so not all are really affected by it, but it is still have problem with the society,

I don't think they'll choose crypto over Gcash. in Gcash, they just need to spend a little amount of cash in and cash out, while in crypto, they have to trade it to PHP value before they will be able to cash out in peso. So there's really the convenience, and personally, if there's a sportsbook in PH that does not require a KYC and would accept Gcash, I would prefer using it.

Gcash is the only or the fastest way if withdrawal of your money if you win such game. Cause all you need is the one time passwords (OTP) from your g cash number then  withdrawal in a easy way. You are also required to pass the KYC requirement before you can fully use the function of Gcash, that's why thee are agents because not everyone who likes to gamble have a gcash account, or could fully verify their gcash account. Any financial company in the Philippines are regulated by central bank, therefore KYC is always a requirement.
Yes you got it right mate when your Gcash will not fully verified then you can not do anything you want to do like transact a big amount of money. but when you are fully verified then you can used it easier than other wallet only thing you should have is your mobile number used in G cash so that you can transact anytime wherever you go. And also Gcash is now the top wallet used for many Filipinos.

Gcash Paymaya still needs KYC when withdrawing your money through banks or partner stores. Where as coins Ph still needs KYC if you want to increase your money limit in your account, but you can still withdraw a small amount if you are just a basic user but still you can easily reach the threshold and you will be forced to do a KYC. Most exchanges and wallets now require KYC, and I haven't found any that don't require it, unless you're just using Metamask or another type of wallet.

I feel that PH decision is very appropriate to stop online cockfighting even though it reduces state revenue. because actually what I know is that the state guarantees the welfare of the people, if you only care about state income but ignore the impact that is happening, his leadership deserves to be questioned.

I'm also looking for that kind of online game that accept crypto, but since cockfighting is not so popular in other countries, then maybe its hard to find the same. the cockfighting in the Philippines only accepts GCASH, no crypto before it was totally banned.

It's not a big market, it's only a big market in the Philippines but not in other countries, otherwise we would already see cockfighting added in the sportsbook we love to use. And also, it's illegal in some countries because it could fall to animal cruelty, Philippines adopt it because it's a traditional type of gambling.

An interesting debate but I think the point is a bit moot.

On one side, cockfighting is a disgusting gambling sport which has absolutely no reason for existing other than to satisfy primal urges of hurting small animals and deriving some sick pleasure from it.
If you are from the Philippines, you will definitely know how familiar is cockfighting in our country. This already exist many many years ago. It comes just to have online cockfighting due to the surge of Covid-19 but sadly, it was been noticed that it becomes addictive and it affects the lives of gamblers where many of them commit more debts just for the sake to have money to gamble which the President decides and urge to stop it.

Quote
On the other side, online cockfighting could be a digital, 3D metaverse thing. No animals hurt. Basically pokemon for gamblers. I don't know why real live animals fighting is so much more satisfying for some people. But I guess it attracts the scumbag crowd. The type that sells children, obviously.

It is not the issue, we play really cockfighting. What makes it stop is because it has already been the reason for the gambler's abduction, some got debts, and some got killed. The government never sees it good even they make a huge benefit from taxes.
