I dont believe that there's lacking about games offered online on why they are really into cockfight betting but rather they do really just looking it for it to be interesting
because if we do speak of the current online games into casinos and the easy access then i dont see for it to be that lacking.
So its not surprising that government would really be taking some action.
It's true, there are too many games that everyone can play, and not just with this online cockfight. But you know our culture, there has been a tradition and people got used to this gambling game. It doesn't matter if there are animals part of it and lives are being exchanged for it.
But it's the norm that has been formed for centuries and that's hard to remove, now, a ban has been said but this won't stop the culture and tradition. There will still be ways that these gamblers will look to bet in online cockfights especially if they're addicted to it.

No one can stop those addicted gamblers, even the ban already implemented. If there's still someone who will continue to the offer a same kind of gambling behind the government's back, those people will continue to play and lose their money. Sabong is a part of our tradition and with how the internet access more people easily, they penetrate deeper and now the government need to act to avoid more addicted and ruined families to suffer from losing more money.

I don't know how you can enjoy a cockfight when the roosters get hurt and sometimes die. I think that these kinds of fights should be banned in whatever country they take place. I don't think it's humane to make money off the blood of those who can't make a decision and take part in fights against their will. If a man wants to see a spectacular fight, he can bet on boxing or the UFC. Humans, unlike animals, are aware of their actions and are fully responsible for their decisions.
Seems like - we only care for our feelings and not about animals - enjoying animal fighting and bleeding and dying has been a favorite pastime in past.
But now the animal rights organizations are raising the voices and are protecting animals as well.

I completely agree with you that any sort of sports involving physical animal torture should be avoided but have we ever thought that there are millions of innocent humans who are fiercely killed in Palestine, Kashmir etc. No one raises any voices for them and here we are condemning violence against animals. It's a food for thought only.

Not the case in the Philippines or other countries which allows cockfighting. Animal cruelty may only be applied to our pets like dogs and cats, but not to the animals that we consume as food, like pigs or chickens IMO. The government sure has an agency to punish those who practice animal cruelty, but this one is exempted.

Overall they lose money, that's why they will never be successful if they are thinking that E-Sabong would solve their financial problem, instead, it only give them more problem as due to addiction it will result them to getting into loans or selling their precious things just to top up money for gambling, it's just alarming so the government just made the right decision.
That is the result that is most felt by those who play E-Sabong gambling and will bring them into great trouble in the future if they still decide to gamble. No matter what type of gambling game they play, they should immediately realize it so that they don't have to feel a big defeat. In this case, the government has tried to make them aware by making that decision but then it is up to them.

A cockfight is just basically introduced to the native people who enjoy farming their chicken and have some casual game of cockfight because of the basic gambling of having a choose with the chickens its more easier to make a bet and just a casual entertainment with small amount but time past by in the middle and the top class see the game to earn too its all about all or nothing game its all about the cock stamina and breeders care to win the figt.
Yes, cockfighting is a traditional gambling game but as technology develops, some providers try to introduce cockfighting games through the internet and it attracts more gambling players. And after some time, the game of cockfighting seems to be more popular in Asian countries.

There's certainly no need to look for this kind of factor called "luck" to help certain gamblers win when doing some gambling activities, as if they can realize it sooner what to do instead of letting themselves to be bury in debts in-exchange for that hopes that you get lucky is already enough and that is already a win on the gambler's side.

It's quite important to have a right mindset before entering these gambling houses so that you can always think ahead.
But many people still seek their luck by gambling even though they understand the risk of losing money can be greater. But they don't seem to care and just keep on playing and hope that one day their luck will come and give them a win. Self-control will be very much needed for gambling because whether we realize it or not, gambling can tempt us to forget when it is time to stop and that is what we must control.

....they are losing money while the operators are making a lot of profit on a daily basis.
the biggest operator of E-Sabong in the Philippines are making millions of money in a daily basis, so if we will try to analyze that, that's more than 100 millions pesos of bets going to that platform on a daily basis, and majority of that money are coming from the poor, so we really cannot blame the government of their action to ban it.

We cannot blame the government because at some point taxes from E-sabong really helps the economy of the country. And I agree that most of the bettors came from the Sector D and E, people will always find an entertainment for a very tiring day, some of them will grab their chance believing that winning in online sabong can help their finances, this scenario is not far from betting in Lotto continuously hoping to win one day.

It is the right action of the government if the poor people have been spending their money into gambling based on the stats. The government's action will help them allocate that money of theirs into other things instead of gambling.
This will also stop the government to provide help and aid through stimulus to these people on the said line of status if they're not wise in spending that money of theirs since there's still the risk of the covid-19 and now, another news that's scaring a lot about the pox.

Looking for luck, I guess? But most of the time, the luckier is the one who facilitates the gambling business. Later, those gamblers realize that they are already out of control and they already lose lots of money. Just how you describe it, poor people who lose their money in gambling do have more problem to face.

The money is not allocated for gambling, but due to un-control decisions, they just lose it and add it to their problem.
Looking for luck we can do but we don't have to bother looking for it because the more we look for it, the more difficult it will be. Just let the luck that will come to us in due time and we will not realize it. If gamblers can realize that they are out of control and have lost a lot of money, they can stop immediately and will not continue playing gambling because it can make them go bankrupt and lose even more money. If they can allocate the money well and not spend it on gambling, I guess they can survive.

That's what you called discipline, you'll always think of the risk so you'll be able to put a limit on what you are doing. If this type of gambling is only considered entertainment, then there should be no problem with the gamblers, unfortunately, they are making it a habit, and with that, they are losing money while the operators are making a lot of profit on a daily basis.

I'm not so sure if the same goes for Filipino cockfighters and breeders as far as I know cockfighting or "sabong" is not only introduced by chicken farmers but rather by our native people in the province. Due to lack of modernization and inability to find hobbies, they find joy and entertainment from sabong or cockfighting. Time goes by, cockfighting became normal to us and has been used to gamble.
After E-sabong or Online Cockfighting, has been introduced due to social distancing, people have been joining not only to elder people but also to teenagers, teens and even people who don't have any knowledge about it since it is too easy to join.
Thats the sad thing because due to this or easy access then this is where young people or youth could possibly really get involved which might result into even more possible addiction.

Yes, there are various option for our young people to play on such as online games but due to the fact that people who've earned tons because of E-sabong has been boasting or even used for advertisement. Also, one of the reason, why more people especially teenagers are joining is because it has been promoted by Vloggers and YouTubers which people has been idolising.
Yes, it sad to know that even youth which should not be gambling at all are already member of this association.

Yes, many poor people have gambled using traditional gambling games and have forgotten their basic needs that must be bought. If they won, they would certainly get a lot of money. But if they lost, then their loss could be big and it would be hard to get back. All they could do was stay away from gambling, all gambling before they had self-control in that corridor.

Those people is just trying their luck to earn money in E-sabong because the way social media influencer promote this like its easy to earn money and the only thing you need is to select a rooster then you can earn. While in reality all of this is in random form and many life has been destroyed so for implementing the law about banning this is good decision made by PH government because for this many families will be save from harsh addiction of E-sabong.

Unfortunately when we say about luck, it cannot be consistent, what only consistent there is the operators are making money because they have the edge or they'll get a certain percentage from your winning based on the odds they offered. It's okay to try your luck and enjoy e sabong, but you cannot do it in a consistent basis as you can never win.

I have read somewhere the newly elected president and its administration will still ban the online sabong just like what the outgoing administration did. Sure the Philippines need the revenue but they cannot afford the consequence.

Before there was no E-Sabong here in the Philippines that's why I think the revenue coming here will be easily covered by the government. Supposed to be one of the good sources of revenue for the government during the pandemic but ended up in a worst result to the lives of people.

I don't see a declined revenue here because like I said, the hype of e-sabong was just around 2 years in operation here.

People here already accept that there's no e-sabong right now because there are still lots of e-gambling here as an alternative.

Certainly the revenue of E-Sabong has been a big help in the Philippines and it will still be of help if its operation will continue but the effect is just too great to deal as it is the lives of people we are talking and the government couldn't afford that kind of result.

The government can still find another alternative on where to find some good clean revenues without destroying some lives along the way, there's still a lot of option though.

Though it's a big help but we cannot deny the fact that it's not good for the poor, why? Yes, that's indeed true! The majority of users are poor while there is only few rich people that are also indulging in E-Sabong, that being said, we quite know why poor people are still living poor despite having jobs because instead of buying basic necessities, they chose to gamble that money in hopes of doubling it at the end of the day. It's unfortunate but that is the reality in the Philippines, that's why the next administration have already said that they still won't allow any operation.
