It looks like there will always be rumours for Perez's seat. For example I have seen news such as Verstappen is leaning towards having Norris as his teammate. It doesn't make sense to me when I look at this situation from Red Bull's point of view. They want to have a dominant champion like Verstappen. They don't want a very competitive second driver who can make difficulties for Verstappen. Norris is exactly the definition of a competitive driver as you know.  Grin

Verstappen and Norris are really good friends now. But the team need to think of their main strategies first.

Actually, Ferrari is very fast in timers here.

Have they boosted their engine at the maximum in their home race with the risk of breaking it or taking a penalty or the next GPS?

probably.

That would not be smart at all but I agree since they have got nothing to lose anyway and in front of their home fans they want something to show them,a victory would be a huge achievement for them.I highly doubt it though as the Honda engine in a track like this full of straights, big straights will absolutely make a difference and I don't think the free practices show the true performances of the cars. For me only the official qualifying tomorrow will show it and in the race anyway we know that Redbull still have the best race pace especially in track like this one.

As far as I know Red Bull boss Christian Horner has already announced their next season drivers as Verstappen and Perez. But even if this is true we are talking about Formula 1 where everything can change anytime.  Smiley  As a result Perez needs to maintain a good work by being on podium as much as possible.

As long as he stays in second place of the driver standings there shouldn't be any issue. However if he loses his place at the end of the season Horner might change his mind about Perez.

In this case Ricciardo might be in the spotlight for Red Bull again.

They won't replace Perez anytime soon. Why ? well , the same story was with Bottas every year , and he still managed to stay for 6 years with Mercedes knowing well that he won't fight for championship as long as Lewis was there and now , same story is repeating itself on Redbull but this time with Perez. Maybe....if RedBull won't have a decent car next year , I'm sure they will replace Perez but as long as the car works and Max is winning races and championships , nothing will be changed. Cool

I think that should be exactly the opposite. As long as Max is winning races they can replace Perez with another driver,I am not saying a top driver as Redbull management would not want that but with a better performing driver than Perez. There are tons of them available now with most notorious at this point being ex Redbull driver Albon,he is doing wonders with Williams and he should be given another chance at Redbull, when he was there the first time he clearly lacked the experience and now I think he is much more mature able to maybe even put up a fight to Max.I am sure that Redbull knows well what to do with Perez,we are only assuming here.

For Perez it will be probably his last season at RBR.

It is not just a case they give to Riccardo a seat into Alpha Tauri...
Perez at RedBull is still a good deal for everyone. Perez is still second in terms of collected points, has done a good job to help Verstappen to become champion against Hamilton and Verstappen is happy to keep him as a teammate.

I also don't find Perez's performance good enough. However I don't understand why Red Bull are looking for a driver in his place. He is at the 2nd place in the championship now. I think a driver who can compete with Max would absolutely harm the team. Besides we need to accept that Red Bull don't act fairly to these two drivers. As a matter of fact I think the cars of these two drivers are seriously different.

I know it's easy for us all to judge Perez like we do in football but that is kinda the truth for him and I'm sure even he knows it, that he has underachieved but at the same time perfectly fulfilled the role of #2, with exception of points gained.

I guess RB feel they can do even better OR like me they believe Max is at peak performance that cannot sustain into next seasons and they want a teammate who can push Max even more. But there is no such guy Smiley

Remember when he won a race early in season and Verstappen just couldn't get over it. And then something happened there to just kick Max into gear great but it had the total opposite effect for his teammate it seems.

The way this season goes, Perez is a big gamble just for podium.

For Perez it will be probably his last season at RBR.

It is not just a case they give to Riccardo a seat into Alpha Tauri...
I believe Perez will stay for another season at RedBull.
He's not really that bad but he's just inconsistent. He's screwing up his qualification but he's always decent during race. Yes, Verstappen is much better but it's also Verstappen. Probably many teammates won't look competitive against Max.
And I'm not even sure if Riccardo will be much better. Against Lando Norris in McLaren, Riccardo was very weak and it's quite possible he'll be weak at RedBull as well. If so, RedBull would look like clowns.
Perez at RedBull is still a good deal for everyone. Perez is still second in terms of collected points, has done a good job to help Verstappen to become champion against Hamilton and Verstappen is happy to keep him as a teammate.

About Perez, I also put him in 2nd and got screwed, his last positions was 6, 3, then 2.

By the way in RB racing team global pool I am 514/10800 players. Top guy is 184 points!

I also couldn't understand how Perez fell behind this much. On top of that he managed to capture the leading position by pitting in the first lap. It is easy to put Verstappen to the first place. However it is really very difficult to make a choice for the places after that. Therefore I think this season is going on really amusingly in terms of the pool.

Very exciting Dutch grand prix, should happen more often to have mixed conditions, where strategy is very important. McLaren and Russell got screwed and couldn't recover during the race, very unfortunate for them. Norris had a good qualifying, so a strong appearance in Monza is likely.
And Ferrari once again a race to forget, especially for Leclerc. Maybe Monza, Ferrari's home race, will be better. No rain forecasted for now, where Ferrari might be happy about because Ferrari seems to be struggling in rain.

However it is really very difficult to make a choice for the places after that. Therefore I think this season is going on really amusingly in terms of the pool.
Normally, Perez should be clearly second but his performance in qualifying is extremely unreliable. Sometimes he's getting second place and (even more often) he's not making Q3...
Monza is a high speed track and if he's able to nail the few corners, he will have have a good qualifying hopefully.
After RedBull, it's really difficult to predict. McLaren is strong currently but Mercedes and Ferrari are in on a podium as well. I wouldn't underestimate Ferrari on their home race.
Aston Martin seems to have fallen behind a bit but Alonso showed a good position is still possible in an Aston Martin in Zandvoort.

Race won't be that entertaining like last week but hopefully, we are in for a few surprises. Verstappen can't win every time.  Cheesy

Even though Formula 1 stays quite weak in terms of competition this season there is a really big competition in our pool. There is a difference of only 2.5 points between first-placed slaman29 and 6th-placed swogerino.
Nice to have such a close race, will be exciting 9 rounds left.  Smiley
2.5 points are really not much, one bad / great round can be a decider.

We can understand when we look at the scoreboard that 1miau is following a different strategy about EBP points.
Luckily, I've not changed my picks for the last 4 or 5 races, where a lot of chaos was involved.
Changing picks on a track, where overtaking is easily possible or even in rainy conditions is always risky, because so many chaos can happen and grid positions will be shuffeled.

When we think that there is an enough time period like 9 races for the ones who want to make a surprise by coming from behind, every point will be much more valuable in last 9 races.

Securing the yellow jersey for this thrilling season-opening race is a decent start, considering that I am currently in 20 place with a 17-point deficit to the leader. Consistency and my tactical decisions in the following races are crucial if I want to catch up. The yellow jersey is proof that I'm moving in the right direction since I got it. It's difficult to keep up the momentum and make the most of the remaining races in order to close the points deficit, but maybe I can get up to where someone else shares the cake with me, hehehehe! Good fortune!

As I said before in this pool based on my experience of last year,I forgot 3 times to put the EBP or more than 3 times last year and yet I managed to come third out of 12 places as we were only few participants last year and the secret was to be consistent to get no more than 0.5 to 1.5 points less than the yellow cap winner.I have been doing really well and made also the record for a single race so far in the pool but last weekend Perez completely screw my race,I would be stupid to place him second again yet I have to because he is driving the best car of the grid.Him not coming second is something strange but he is doing this bad consistently.

Honestly from the Race 1 until now I didn't learn much about F1, I still don't really understand anything more than the final results, so guys like me must rely on the EBP to keep our positions high.

My "tactic" is simple. I don't really understand the news but I understand consistency. I truly just follow the Superbru pulldown, which shows the results of all previous race. If I see improvement in last 3-5 races, I put the guy on points Smiley

I dont really know man, i want also to see some real action for the winner of the race, but seems like impossible this year. For worst im gonna repeat what i said early, if you see anyone can battle against the Perez RedBull or at least be near him, but when we talk about the Max Verstappen Red Bull nobody has a chance, its like a F1 against a F2 car.

They have a secret for sure but nobody can discover it.

The other cars are very close to themself in lap time, only Red Bull has ad advantage.

Something is under the car, 9000 engineers of the other team can't figure it out. What it is?

I also don't believe that Perez and Verstappen have the same car from now on after the race on Sunday. Even though Ferrari called Leclerc to pit they couldn't prepare the tyres yet. This cost Leclerc a lot. This was the most interesting race I have watched in this season. I wish these weather conditions were in a place where overtaking on the track is easier. Smiley

In the Monza track overtaking is far more easy than in Zwandoort where we were this last weekend.I hope that rain is possible there and seeing in TV,I see that from Italian channels, really cold weather has already come to Italy right now and thus increasing the chances of seeing a wet Monza race.In fact as strange as it may sound we have not seen a Monza race yet in rain from many years,I have difficulties recalling when it was last time around that rained properly here and I am not talking about those races where we just had a shower.Hopefully this weekend our wishes will come true as in Netherlands we saw that when rain is in the track a lot of drama happens and it becomes a chaotic race making it more interesting for us fans.

^  Afaik, it wouldn't have mattered much if you made your picks after quali as we'd most likely change our picks after the grid is set and forfeit the points made on our pick for pole position right?  I think it's a necessary gambit to get more points post race.

But yeah, I made my picks after quali too.  So that's what I'm telling myself rn.  Cheesy

And judging from the gap between Verstappen and the rest at Q3, I think he'll win with a more than 15 second gap later.

Well it was a chaotic first stint for the race. The team at Redbull clearly favors Max Verstappen by undercutting Perez through the pit stop when this is not at all needed since Max Verstappen was at a certain lap with over 4 seconds difference in a single lap when they were using the intermediate tires.

Now the Safety Car has made the gaps go away and we have Redbull one two now which will be extremely difficult to change until the end of race unless the drivers make some errors as the rain is almost 40 minutes away which is plenty of time for Redbull cars to create the gap with the other teams.

It's the Dutch GP, Verstappen's home race.  And his dad is in their somewhere at the paddock looking over everyone's shoulders.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  Seriously tho, it's nothing new.  We've seen it happen before with Vettel and Webber.  All favors were for Vettel and to some extent Ricciardo and Verstappen when all favors were starting to go Verstappen's way...  Ricciardo prolly saw the writing on the wall and decided to leave.  Which in the end was a bad decision.  But what could he do.

Anyway nice to see Gasly on the podium.  I hope we get more dry races at the start then it rains in the middle of the first lap.  Cheesy  Lol.

And Leclerc said he's excited to drive the brand new 2024 car Ferrari promised.  Lolol.  I think we know how that's going to turn out.  Grin
