Tottenham are very bad at home- now what's stoping Slot from winning the league.. they're now clear favorite and it's only December.
And topping the table at Christmas and not winning the league... is something we're quite familiar with in the past 8 seasons =p Still, I like where we are now!

The only team that took the  league off your nose after topping in December are not longer in discussion this season. Arsenal might cause problems but I don't see us (Chelsea) posing any real threats.

Yeah we would need to be like 12-15 points clear before I start thinking we are definitely going to be champions

You guys are playing better than everyone else and conceding fewer goals, which is very essential in the title fight. No one is catching up unless you guys become incredibly ass

Yeah we would need to be like 12-15 points clear before I start thinking we are definitely going to be champions. I think we can stop worrying about Man City now for this season, they are finished, absolutely cooked. Arsenal and Chelsea are very much in the mix though and we just need to keep winning, taking it one game at a time.

I'm rooting for Arsenal, but it's going to be tough for them and Chelsea.  It's looking like the only club that can topple LFC is LFC themselves.  It's hard to imagine any other club overpowering them at this point.  If they continue to play mistake-free they'll cruise to the championship.

I wouldn't count out City just yet.  I can see them turning things around and making it into the top 4.  Also, it's worth keeping an eye on the sleeper... Forest!  Cheesy

Tomorrow brings up an opportunity to tick off another win. At Anfield under the lights, I am very confident we will win. Leicester are terrible and barring a massive upset, we should win convincingly.
No need to think about Manchester City team, this is no longer in the hunt and will not be able to compete again this season.
Arsenal and Chelsea are currently tight, it's just that Liverpool are ahead in points so it's a little comfortable and who need a win to add points.

Not sure Leicester will spring a big surprise at Anfield, but we believe Liverpool will win easily and this will keep the points gap with Chelsea and Arsenal.

Well, we dropped points against Fulham, and lost to Nottingham Forest, so we're not exactly steamrolling anyone. Spurs are the sort of guys that make it easy for us to win. Ange's Spurs anyway. Arsenal used to be that way until they toughened up and stop opening their legs for us.

I think boxing day matches are going to be even harder to predict, but biggest mystery for me is match Manchester City vs Everton.
Can Man City lose again?
Don't be surprised if Manchester City loses, this team cannot be counted on as a clear favorite, the problems still facing the club and have not been able to solve it.

I think this holiday season should enjoy the Boxing Day match, it's enough entertainment during this holiday season.

It is a risk. Like everything else in business.
It is a much more logical one than buying Mudryk and Caicedo for 200 million euros.

At least Caciedo is proving his worth the money we paid for him and he's already up in value, can't say the same fo Nunez.

Quote
Yes, there is a high chance you'd be able to get 50 mil for Salah in 2-3 years from Arabia. The guy plays his best football and is never injured, if we need the money just sell Nunez.

You can't force him out of his contract, and Salah prefers it in Europe because his wife and daughters love it there; he's the biggest Muslim footballer now, but he doesn't appear like someone who want to play outside Europe.

Signing Salah to a long term contract could affect Trent and VVD are you aware of that?

he'll post another Christmas picture in few hours to kill off another Saudi link.  Grin

Salah is aging fantastically and yeah - I'm with you here. Give him a 5-year contract, lock him in and then sell him to Arabia in 2 years and recoup his salary.

Liverpool is a business, not a charity. It makes no sense to give a 32-year-old a 5-year contract with a potential £400k/week in the hope of selling him to Saudi when he is 35, and it is even bold of you to believe that Saudi club would offer anything more than €30m for a 35-year-old player. These clubs are getting into more debts and soon will end up like the Chinese league.

Quote
I think it was closer to 150. Not sure he wanted to go though.
Without him this season there wouldn't be any title discussions, so in retrospective it's good that he's here.
But from a business perspective, for Liverpool's sustained challenge for the top of the table 100 mil and no title is a better option than 0 mil and 1 more title.

You haven't won the title yet and the 150 could have gotten the club a better squad depth than what you guys do currently have.

Well Salah is still in his Prime and i think he has 2 years at least more in him to play on top level and he also wants to secure more money by getting a bigger contract. Liverpool will risk it because they know they need him. Its better to keep him then search for a new player and pay 100+ million that might not be a hit.

By far, so why is he still without contract extension? I believe he will be able to talk with other clubs as free player in just few weeks, why are LFC waiting on this? I mean, they can always sell him to Arabia even when he is 40 years old if that is the concern.

Yep, insane. We're really lucky that he's into all that 'legacy' crap so the rumor is that he's pushing to stay.
Perhaps that's where the calmness from LFC is coming from, and the only thing that remains is how long the extension will be.

I managed to win 2 points from 10 games. I don't recall having such a bad round ever, anywhere.

Because Salah demands a big salary? It's hard to understand Salah's contract situation.
Arab clubs are always waiting, but the concern is that if Salah becomes a free agent next summer, maybe Real Madrid will be at the forefront.

When you're already one of the club with the highest wage bill in Europe and 3 of your highest paid player are out of contract at the same time it's really difficult to extend all of them except Salah and VVD agrees a pay cut this could be their last season at the club. Fans want to see both players remain at the club but financially it doesn't look good for them.

The only mistake was turning down €100m for Salah when they had the chance.

There are 4 people with 0, but I guess they aren't playing anymore. Stand up if you are, what we (you) did takes some skill.
This round only 3 points were earned, out of all the matches, it was a lot of surprises actually.

Mo Salah is the best player in the world this season, what a beast.
Everyone would not have expected 3-6 and all got 1 point in Superbru.
Arne Slot is a genius. I think he will win his first trophy.

There were a lot of freak results but still - you don't see something like this often.

I was following the results and Superbru over the weekend. Damn we both sucked this weekend. I had a feeling City would recover and beat Villa. I expected Chelsea to win, everything went wrong for me except the one team you can rely on Wink

Three of them (alexrossi2, paid2 and Dump3er) didn't submit their predictions, but Betwrong did submit his predictions.
alexrossi2 and paid2 haven't submitted any predictions since round 7 and round 8 respectively and they have probably left the competition. Dump3er may just have forgotten to submit his predictions.

We aren't in the title ran, we were never in one, all we wanted was our 3 points donations from all clubs we played but Everton just had to spoil the party. Drawing against Everton truly feels like a lost. Liverpool were lucky there game against Everton got postponed because they would had met the same fate that Arsenal and Chelsea have met. I have to give it to them, they fought a good fight. Stopping an inform goal scoring Chelsea from scoring, that I didn't see coming. Everton meeting city on boxing day (city misery continues).

I believe the early rain and storms made things even more difficult for our players, Everton have a shithole of a stadium. Well, we have no excuse now; we must focus on our hectic December schedules and ensure that we do not lose the second position before the new year.

We need a good backup striker, Nkunku is leaving January, not signing Duran when we had the chance is going to cost us alot this season.

I was disappointing that Tottenham allow Liverpool to score that much. Liverpool are definitely winning the premier league. Salah going for the Ballon d'or this season? Who's beating him if he wins the league and champions league?

PR PR PR he needs Liverpool fans to start running those PR now. Barcelona fans started pushing Raphinha and Lewa for Ballon D'or just 8 games into the season

Dropping important points against Everton feels like a loss; but, it shows how far we've come this season and the progress we've made. When you're in the title race and have a chance to go top,  these aren't the games to lose points in. Enzo Mascara was right; the team isn't ready and lacks the necessary experience to compete for the league.
