Don't ask about ball possession, even almost the entire field was controlled by Manchester City but the final result was not so beautiful for City.

Possession continued like this into the second half but they didn't even threaten this time. Everything is slow and obtuse with their play. I don't think it's even really just the age, it's just some kind of funk. Two goals down now. I picked City in the pool, picked City in BSFL, picked City in the Football Jackpot, but those were all hedges. I know they're too good to continue being in this shitty form, but I am enjoying it for as long as it lasts. And long may it last!

Haha we see Manchester City again troubling their bettors are now 1 goal behind increasingly skeptical that this team has experienced such a sharp decline, I say this is too dive.

P.S. Mudryk witchhunt?
He certainly does not pass as the type of player who puts in performances that require a drug test. But this things are done routinely, making it less likely to be a witch hunt. (he does not pass as the type of player to be witch hunted too). I hope there is a quick end to the situation, he has struggled a lot since moving to England and can do without any more.

I still find it crazy there are people who shoot up, but then I guess I don't understand the pressures. Definitely agree though I don't ever see him as the type of player who raises questions, nor the type that would be targeted. Must be just his herbal tea...

I guess on paper Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City should win this weekend but it never works like that. I am quite sure at least one of them will drop points.

I have a feeling two will. Would be hard to swallow if we did it bs Spurs, whom we'll meet another time this season at least. Counting on Salah to mark Jota's return with a brace of assists. He looked really sharp on his cameo (and actually, to a lesser extent, so did Chiesa!).

Away to Spurs, Villa or Palace is always a tricky fixture, both City and Liverpool lost away to Villa and Spurs last season and we barely made it past Crystal Palace. I will not be surprised if at least 2 of the 4 drop points this weekend.

Huge game for Liverpool Sunday, away at Spurs. They always seem to raise their game against Liverpool at their stadium. Will be a really tough game although they have no fit senior CBs. Romero and Van Den Ven are big losses. After draws against Newcastle and Fulham we have to win.

Yes they do but they aren't in form so Liverpool can take advantage of that. Liverpool are in a better form and has the momentum to get the win. I would had love you guys to lose but as a Chelsea fan , I don't think we're ready to be table toppers, don't forget we aren't in the title race and we won't want the pressure to get to us now. There'll be other games where Liverpool can drop point but not on Sunday. We defeated Tottenham, you guys can do that too.

Quote
Chelsea can actually go 1st if they beat Everton in the earlier game Sunday. A win would put them 1 point ahead of Liverpool but we would have 2 games in hand (the first game in hand vs Spurs immediately after).

Our away form is great so there shouldn't be any challenges in this game just that we'll be missing Cucurella and while he hasn't been himself lately, he would had still been a better starter than others. Wishing a win for both clubs.

In the Pep vs Klopp title races it seemed they both used to win every week. This season is different, the contenders are at a lower standard than those teams.

I'm afraid it will be us this time around. Spurs are 10th in the league but were extremely unlucky - if you look at their GD, it's 3rd in the league and they are scoring for fun.
They have Romero, van der Ven and Davies out, I hope we take advantage of that. Still not confident at all.

It will be an intresting match im expecting a large number of goals in this derby match. I think both teams will score a lot of goals. Im still deciding if i should go draw or liverpool. I think most of the pool will pick Liverpool to win but for anyone who wants to hunt points draw is a good option aswell. But with how Tottenham is playing hot and cold i dont know what to expect from them. While Chelsea is an easy option for me.

So the bigger guys in the tiny cup are through. Spurs and United are next to each other in the league so shouldn't be any favourites from that tie. Arsenal really want this cup... Chiesa, Tsimi, good to have them back.

Our only senior to pair with VVD is Gomez and he was never a natural. Slot experimented with Endo today, but why do we always play our poor anchors as CBs though? Surely we have fullbacks in Academy. Endo did brilliant tonight but the poor guy was roughed up haha.

Whoa, whoa, why are we talking about Chelsea and Liverpool spending? Oh, yes, because they're the top two teams now.

No, because Liverpool fans want Enzo from average Leicester City to win the league in his first season.

But Chelsea not needing debt is a case of Chelski anyway, when your club was an oligarch's plaything, there was no need to borrow money =P  That may change soon if your club's accountants can't crawl out though, you guys have been bleeding out from losses under Boehly.

No, our sugar Daddy Abramovich made sure our £1b in debt was paid in full before he left.

Most of the those £1.4m players are already x2 in transfer valuation and our book is balanced, what else can we ask for. Grin

Nah, I don't want Chelsea to win, I do want them in UCL! I enjoy good football so I'm actually really enjoying Arsenal and Chelsea. Last game I watched at Stamford Bridge wasn't bad at all. Easy to say and harder to swallow but I like winning when everyone around you is good. And Pep will agree, you only get better when pushed hard by your rivals.

But about the debt wipeout, hot damn, I didn't know that. What a nice guy haha. I want a sugardaddy too man. Anyway, yeah you're in a great position liquidity wise. Chelsea have the best accountants amortising all those costs too, it's a long game and Boehly's clearly thinking like a finance boss but he will definitely want UCL. Each win in league phase alone is 2m prize money, so we've already offset our last season's 9m loss. Chelsea will take home 4.4m since they'll win every game and finish top too... but that Conference money barely compares I guess since qualifying alone wins you 18m. If Liverpool win their next two and finish top, it's 16m plus roughly 10m from the performance shares, so 26. 44m, and still the KO rounds to go. Crazy.

Whoa, whoa, why are we talking about Chelsea and Liverpool spending? Oh, yes, because they're the top two teams now.

But seriously, I'm not going to look and pull out stats. All I know is that in terms of financial fair play and profit and sustainability rules, Liverpool are clear (for now). So looking at spending and revenue alone mean nothing. You need to know your club is spending within means, or that the spending leads to sustainable revenue. City are facing 115 charges on FFP, Everton's spending spree got them fined and points deducted, so did Nottingham Forest's cash splash.

Chelsea is doing all it can to avoid such charges, but the fact they're playing it close almost every month means something. The amortisation magic wand.

Igehbotz does bring something I also think is important though, debt. Now debt alone means nothing (if debt results in more revenue, as in Liverpool's case, everyone's happy, even I'm happy) but I'm economically conservative in that I just don't like debt. United fans will remember how Glazer took on hundreds of millions in debt, and Liverpool too as soon as we came under American ownership but we needed the new stadium expansions, it was horrible that Anfield max capacity was so small. But Chelsea not needing debt is a case of Chelski anyway, when your club was an oligarch's plaything, there was no need to borrow money =P  That may change soon if your club's accountants can't crawl out though, you guys have been bleeding out from losses under Boehly.

That said, I'm not comfortable Liverpool's 250m in debt. Apparently, we had a nett 9m loss last year (missing out on Champions League is expensive) but it's still salvageable. I just don't enjoy that we only make nett profit if we're in UCL.

That is crazy. Any fool could see that Chelsea had a good ship, it just needed half capable captain to steer it. I have to admit Liverpool really surprised me tho. Once they lost their key players and couldn't bring in the guys they wanted, and then losing Klopp, I thought they were gonna be struggling. Top 4 is amazing last season, this season Chelsea and Liverpool are completely exceeding expectations (despite 1 Billion squad). Only thing is a shame that Chelsea is not in CL, you don't spend money and sign 7/8/9 year contracts with your players to play in Conference Smiley Only Cole Palmer deserves the full 9 years.

I'm not sure where you're getting that quota from, but the current Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United senior teams are significantly more expensive than our first IX. In terms of wages, Chelsea's highest-paid player is James (250k/week). Have you seen Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, and City pay list? . We are not the most expensive team in the league; we are just the most valuable squad at the moment. Enzo Mascara has already exceeded expectations; our main goal is to play CL next season; we don't care about the league.

But they played great football as a neutral I enjoyed watching, several finals, I think 850 for 6/7 seasons is really actually amazing for EPL Tongue I think nobody getting hard on Enzo, but on Bohly, who is the one who spent 1.3B in 2 seasons!

Now go and check the netSpend and club's debts. Klopp left Liverpool in alot of debts, he was the first manager to sign the most expensive Goalkeeper( Allison), Defender( Van) and striker( Nunez), and was close to signing the most expensive midfielder ( Caciedo) last summer. He was supposed to do better than Pep.

No pundits predicted Chelsea finishing Top 4 from the start of the season even some Chelsea fans too.

Liverpool fans forgot so easily that Klopp spent £850m on 37 players and won only one EPL trophy but y'all are getting hard on Enzo.

I see Maresca, trying to take the pressure off the players by saying you are not in a title race. I see that brother playing mind games.

That squad cost 1.4 billion, you are absolutely in the title race Wink

Exactly.
Oops, we spent a shitload of money but ended up 12th and 6th the last 2 seasons. Don't mind us, we're just here for some fun.

That team is one of the most expensive ones in the history of the game and should be portrayed as such.
Not title contenders? Shitty results shouldn't mask the fact that you don't spend that money to play the Conference League.

Bros does it really matter? More than half of those supposed 1.1b players are under 18 spread in South America on loan, he's been here in less than 8 months, met an extremely unstable team that finished in the least European competition last season, is too early to talk about winning the league this season.

He's been honest with the current situation - We're not in the title race.

That Bournemouth equalizer just robbed me my yellowcap Cry

I was okay with Westham winning by a goal because player that had them for a win mearnt sharing the crown at the top, but for the hammers to allow that 1-1 scoreline meant getting beat by 1.5 points by hosseinimr93 Cry

Congrats hosseinimr93 the draw was a game changer 👏

It was really close in the end. Was certain that West Ham would take the win after the penalty and Bournemouth again scoring in the last minutes of the game. I had 2-1 for them so was hoping that they would turn it around in the end. But just my luck again short by a goal. I was 99% certain you would win the yellow cap but you didnt have luck in the end.
