Um, how do you guys pay for your pre-orders? By putting in new orders?

Just called KNC (seems like great support so far), he told me we have to place our orders (the same amount or less we preregistered) and the payment date (the date when it leaves my bank account) counts. The will match your order with your place in the queue.

It is possible to use different payment method if you split up in different orders. Means f.e. 1 order to pay with bitcoins and 1 with paypal is possible.

He said the will be absolutely able to deliver Jupiters in time (i said i hope we´ll get them this year, "delays measure in couple of days"), they have "10 years of experience" and "lot of global fundries" to manage even the 28nm challenge.

For me it sounded pretty well and confident, however, now its about to get the freakin money..

So now there's "new order #" (which you can either order a "1-500" miner or just regular miner for the same price?) and old order # (pre-order mars, anything, 1-500 or the 1/2 price for the delayed deliveries, or just a straight up pre-order # only) vs pay now or pay later (how many days we got to pay it?)?

So confused with this system they got going at the moment. These guys change their system/mind like the wind.

If you would have done your homework, you would have learned that you're dealing with a person--Sam--who has the same makeup as Tom Van Riper of eBasic. I tried to tell you guys, but you didn't listen. Sam is the Swedish version of TVR, and THIS IS A FACT. Andreas Kennemar is a only a tad better than TVR, with Sam being on par, if not less.

I find it extremely hard to cope with the current development. In Germany the cc chargeback is only valid for 2 months, not 120 days like in the UK. I had (and have again) orders pending for around 45k. And now I have to pay the full amount in 7 days? Are they insane? They have one video of the product, the open day was not yet and they expect me to pay them most of my savings 4 months in advance without securities? I would be willing to send them maybe 10k now and the rest upon delivery, but certainly not more...

FTR we just placed Jupiter order and was order #129. We have an email into them asking about pay period and delivery period. Looking forward to more info from Open Day attendees.

Edit: that wasn't our pre-order number.  That is our new number now that they are accepting payments.
Got an email from Andreas confirming that we have 7 days to make the payment.

Catching up on this thread, I find this. If this is true, then this is where I call foul. The purpose of the meeting(s) is to assure the buyers that all is on the up-and-up prior to accepting any moneys.

only method of getting the machine is stockholm pick up...no shipping options yet..
!!!!

Yes, UPS is on the list.
I don't have it on list.

I do. And it's a pretty expensive option, BTW.

I'm not sure what to make of Mars, all I do know was two days back the majority of people were bitching about it being there and an expensive waste, now it's not people are bitching about it being removed as too many people were complaining about it being an expensive waste!!

This is puzzling.

They say in the newsletter they wouldn't be taking money before showing a working prototype... But then they cancel the "Mars" product, which is the only existing working prototype (and it's a FPGA, not an ASIC!!!!!), while they open payments for the Jupiters and Saturn (ASICs), for which a prototype is yet to be seen, and we have to pay in the next 7 days or we lose your spot in the queue? Plus, they make a lottery in order to get as many customers paying in the next 48 hours, starting from now?

I'm the only one reading some contradictions in all this?

It's called "bait and switch".

UPS quoted me double the price earlier than it does now.

Also one day expedited shipping is the only option aside pick-up I saw.

To the UK was around $250 earlier, and is now half that.

Maybe they don't propose UPS for your country.
What is your country ?

I am not impressed by their decision to not sell the mars product.

We need more companies that actually will ship a product. Time and time again companies have taken money but been unable to ship a product on a reasonable timeframe. Shipping the mars product to customers NOW would have helped build customer trust, as they would have had a hashing product in hand while the ASIC development is underway.

Instead we have another classic pre-order scenario for ASICs.

I have an early (<200) "pre-order" registration but if this is their plan it's unclear I'll actually use it. Send them $7k and wait for 4 months is not a good business model for the customer.

Hi everyone, it’s time for another newsletter from us. Today we will cover:
Online video demo of Mars
The future of Mars
More specifications of Jupiter and Saturn
Our little lottery giveaway
Order book opening

Online video demo of Mars
We made a promise to you all not to take any payment of any device until we could show you a working prototype, well today it’s finally here. Our developers have been working almost round the clock to get this box hashing as fast as possible, we said Mars would hash at 6 GH/s and in the video you can see exactly how fast we managed to make it go.
The Mars prototype is as the name suggests, a prototype. As you can see it doesn’t even have a case yet. The performance of our device is, and always will be, more important to us than the look. We know it won’t win any design awards but we are engineering for speed first and foremost. Please have a look at the video which can be found here. http://youtu.be/foeBUcagT2s

The Future of Mars
Even with the new improvements of the Mars device it still has a few issues. It’s not anywhere near as efficient as Jupiter or Saturn in terms of $’s per Hash and it will really only mine Bitcoins. To sum up, we don’t think with the difficulty increasing at the current rate it’s good value for money and if it’s not good for you it’s not good for us. We will let our competitors sell devices with this kind of speed so we can concentrate on the ground breaking devices.
We know a lot of people have ordered the device simply to gain a queue placement for Jupiter and quite a few people have asked us not to send them the device but to charge them and just allow them to use the queue placement.
So given all of the above we have decided that we will remove Mars in its current form from sale.
That leaves a few questions I’m sure. So let me try to alleviate your worries, anyone who has a registration for the Mars device will be able to use that queue placement for either a Jupiter or a Saturn, simply order one of those in the our shop with the same email address you registered your Mars device against and we will do the rest.
Then there are the people who wanted the Mars device to mine other types of coins, what we will do is produce a new device based on the Mars type setup (with a case). It will be announced fully in the next few months but I can tell a few things today. We will target this new device against all the currencies we can. Not just litecoin, namecoin etc but also many others. The new FPGA based device will then have a much longer life expectancy and produce a much better ROI than Mars ever could. We will also be making updates available to the firmware if and when new types of coins come out.
Removing Mars from sale will also free up some of our internal resources enabling them to work on Jupiter and Saturn and hopefully bring the delivery of those devices forward.

Order books now open for payment

The order books are now open for the first time allowing full ordering and payment of the Jupiter and Saturn devices. Everyone already has their place in the queue so we are giving everyone 7 days to pay and maintain that place. If there are any technical issues with our website or payment portals over the next 7 days we will of course increase this period accordingly.  Once the 7 days are over we will provide everyone with their final shipping queue placement. We are able to ship hundreds of devices a week using the agreements we have in place with the factories so we still expect to be able to serve the vast majority of customers in September. Unlike others in this industry we will not be doing the assembly in house it will be done at the same professional assembly lines which ORSoC have been using for years.

Our little lottery giveaway

for those of you who are able to pay in the first 48 hours starting from now. we will enter your email address into a lottery. After 48 hours we will randomly select three queue numbers, the first name chosen will get a free Jupiter and Saturn, the second will get a free Jupiter and the third will get a free Saturn.
We will then contact you and ask if we can make your name and country/state public on our site. We will add the devices to your account and ship them free of charge to you along with your order.
