^^ It's because Tsitsipas was really playing very high tennis and Sinner has no answer.

Good match between Medvedev vs Felix AA, no break yet, score 5-5. And by the looks of the match, this could be another 5 setter. Unless either one really exploded. But I'm not seeing that, and just for fun, I have Felix-AA @4.30 ML.

@Yaunfitda yeah managed to tune in a little but work's a bit tough on Mondays so I'm going to have to wait till a bit later to see if I can catch it, but hopefully Tsitsi gets out of this intact before then.
Yep, it's a lot of work, but I still managed and won on the Tsitsipas match.

Got to see the match between Monfils and Berrettini because I put and roll the money on him from the Tsitsipas win, -2.5 at 1.87. He won comfortably the first set 6-4, but still a lot of work to do for him as Monfils is not an easy opponent.

Too bad with your Monfils vs Berrettini bet, it was very close and the handicapped is just -2.

On the women's side we might see some upset?

Kanepi winning the first set against Swiatek, just the start of the second set though, but Swiatek needs to play perfect from here to get back and win the match.

Madison Keys vs Barty on the first semis tomorrow.
Yeah, I know, it was really close up to the last set. Great chances for me to win my win, unfortunately, it was just 1 point.

Surprising results from the Tsitsipas vs Sinner game. I thought that this could be at least 4 to 5 setter, but Tsitsipas completely demolished Sinner in straight sets.

I'll pass on the match between Medvedev vs FAA for now. Be back tomorrow for Nadal vs Berrettini.

I'm afraid that if the match goes longer, Nadal's chance of winning will only go lower because he has aged and he will get exhausted more compared to Shapolov if the match gets longer and longer.
That was logical assumption but Nadal experience and calm proved to be enough in the 5th set. Shapovalov was a bit rash and gifted an easy break and later on Nadal did not even give him a chance after confirming that break. It was last game where Shapovalov had chance to turn it around once more.
Congrats to Nadal for getting the win as he proved me wrong. I thought that as the match goes longer, chances of him winning will only get steeper.
But he took good advantage of Shapolov's mistakes and that's what he expect from an experienced player.

Berrettini looks too good for Monfils at the moment. Basically both guys are holding serves until Monfils gets a bad game. Feel like there could be some drama in this one if only Monfils manages to get one break. I expected another 5 setter here.
The other match has ended and Berrettini has won it. It was an exciting match in my opinion as he won the last set against Monfils 6-2. I have to say after losing 2 sets in a row, he came back strong.

a bit off-topic
would not comment on tournament, but do you people work, have children or something, I was awake to follow from second set, since my toddler saw the day-light, and told me we have to read before kindergarten, or we will lose time
can't say that I would sleep longer in any case, since I get up early, but it is good to know that some people could afford more sleep Smiley
Well I have a child, but today was wife turn to take her to daycare on the way to her work Smiley No job at the moment but I have interview for one a couple of hours later, so morning just for myself. And still can't say that I got much sleep since I watched Collins until 3 in the morning, have to earn money somewhere.

Medvedev looks sharp from the get go.

I expected much more from Sinner in this match, I just got up and expected to find them 1:1 in sets or something like that and it was all finished. Tsitispas found his form at right time and he always was a player for big stage. Ah, well gonna have to watch Medvedev.

^Yeah I woke up even earlier than usual to try and see if I could watch this one a bit too but it was all wrapped up, even after almost half hour delay while they covered up. Read that Sinner actually improved after the break, but then so did Tsitsi.

I actually lost my bet thinking Sinner would take one set, but my outright pick is now in the Semis and I couldn't have asked for a better roundup. Medvedev was always going to be the fav here but I'm very pleased as this now allows me to begin my hedging and at least get some money back on 2022 betting!

WTA started to be much more interesting. We have a couple of heavy hitters now on the tour and it is much more fun to watch now. Watched Collins yesterday and he was hitting some great shots against Cornet.

Yea Sinner is already broken in the 3rd, its 1-3 there to Tsitsipas, I cannot see
this going past 3 sets either.

I definitely wouldnt write off Nadal for the final. He doesnt have 20 Grand Slams
for nothing and as they say great champions always find a way even with the odds
against them, he might not be 100% fit but skills and experience have to play
a big part still.

I don't really think that nadal is the clear favorite in his semifinal against berrettini. I mean he just came back from an injury, we should not forget that. I saw his match against shapovalov and i have to say that nadal Was pretty lucky that he won that match. He was complete exhausted in the last 2 Sets and i think he really can thank shapovalov that he made so many easy and totally unneccesary return errors in the last Set otherwise i am pretty sure that nadal would have lost that match.
If he is able to get a quick 2-0 lead in Sets against berrettini too then i think nadal will win. If not it will be very hard for him.
I have high hopes for Shapovalov to win that match especially when he can make the match to 5 sets, not thinking that Nadal still has enough energy for this match but unfortunately Shapovalov is too insistent with his service so it becomes a lot of mistakes, that's the weakness of young players often wrong strategy in dealing with experienced players like Nadal.

Sinner vs Tsitsipas, Tsitsipas 2 sets ahead I think it's only going to last 3 sets, his game was very solid this time and Sinner still looked nervous even after 2 sets.

@Cnut237 the absence of Djokovic has definitely boosted Nadal’s confidence, and it’ll be a disappointment if he now fails to win it. @aoluain while Berrettini looks good, but Nadal seems to hitting top form hence beating him now is very difficult hence I expect Nadal to win and proceed to the finals, and let’s hope we get some good odds for him for the finals.

I'm starting to think Nadal should be the favourite for the title. Obviously him and Medvedev are the big two, and Nadal had a 5-setter today, but...

Nadal plays Berrettini in the semis, and Berrettini had a 5-setter, too. This is arguably the easy draw for Nadal, given the other semi is likely to be a really tough one, Medvedev vs Tsitsipas. Whoever (probably Medvedev) comes out of that the winner will probably be more tired than Nadal come the final.

This next match between Nadal and Berrettini should be another good one.
I think I will back Berrettini, he seems to have found that fighting spirit while
Nadal is still not 100% fit.

There is another very interesting one coming up, Sinner v Tsitsipas with Sinner
being favourite 1.68 - 2.20. I would have thought Tsitsipas would be favourite,
does Sinner have it to go to the Semi's? I would love to see him do it.

Shapovalov will have a hard time sleeping tonight. He looked like a winner after the 4th set but feels like he gifted this one away. Nadal being Nadal taking his opportunities and that's worth a new semi for him.
Burned a lot of energy today so let's see how restituted he is on Thursday.

Looking forward to this semi, going to be a thriller. My money is on Berrettini but getting past Nadal is always a huge challenge

Berrettini looks too good for Monfils at the moment. Basically both guys are holding serves until Monfils gets a bad game. Feel like there could be some drama in this one if only Monfils manages to get one break. I expected another 5 setter here.

Nice prediction there Trofo.
Looked like Berrettini would take a "easy" 3-0 after the first two, but Monflis fought back and dominated the 3rd and 4th set before being completely outplayed in the 5th and losing 2-6.

Nadal won the mental game once again, Shapovalov should have been on top after getting back to 2-2. He probably got too tired, both mentally and physically.

Nadal has played a million of matches like these, he took advantage of his experience and calmly waited for his chance that came early on in the 5th set.
Whoever wins today will be an easy semifinal draw for him, the lower part and the battle for the 2nd finalist will be much more interesting.

^^ Nadal won the first 2 sets very easy, 6-3,  6-4, but Shapovalov turn on the heat on the last 2 and now leading the 4ths set 4-2 and serving.

So by the looks of it, we are going to see a final set, I have Nadal winning here by ML, super boost on Sportsbet and I put a decent money because I think Nadal will have a 3 set win. But now it's going to be a tough match for him and he will be extended in 5 sets for the first time in this tournament.

Nadal seemed very good in the first part of the game but Shapolov has recovered that and paying him back.

I'm afraid that if the match goes longer, Nadal's chance of winning will only go lower because he has aged and he will get exhausted more compared to Shapolov if the match gets longer and longer.
Let's hope that the best player wins.
