Did you guys see the point when Busta made a break today? Never seen something like this, his opponent hit smash with border of the racket and ball got wicked rotation and jumped back into his own half. Busta saw what will happen and run around the net to make the point. Everything by the rules but very rare to see.

No, but I watched it on YT and yea its a very strange one, Pablo did well to read that
play and win the point making sure not to touch the net himself.

Griekspoor's smash off the racket frame created massive backspin so as it bounced in
to make the point it headed back over the net, Carre o Busta had to hit that point to win,
it doesnt matter from where.

Wasn't able to really see some matches yet, only some highlights, but too bad that Goffin is already out in the first round with 3-0. He used to be a (very) good player, even reached the top 10, but the last couple of years he is only a shadow of himself...
He lost his touch after a long injury, this is often the case with big players after long injuries it takes a struggle to get back to the top, Murray and Cilic are one of them.
Yesterday Murray needed a long time to go to the next round, an interesting match but doubted he would be able to go further with his current condition needing extra energy to stay in this major tournament.

Although Murray made a return but I doubt that he will ever be able to get back to his top form.
Agree or not, I feel like he has left his golden past way in the past, and now all he should do is play for fun. As I don't think that he will be able to compete against A-tier players to win any tournament. Even last game he was struggling. His pace has declined a lot and so has his strength.

A lot of problems for Shapovalov against Soonwoo Kwon - they played 3 tie-brakes in the first 3 sets. Shapovalov eventually managed to break a few times when needed but he is probably very tired after a game like this.
He is playing Opelka next - won't be easy for him but it's a match I am looking forward to.
After easily beating Kokkinakis, Hanfmann was easy prey for Nadal. He did not have great opposition so far but has started really strong. Let's see him against Khackhanov.

It was quite an entertaining match, to be honest. 3 tiebreakers in the first 3 sets are quite a nail-biter  Shocked.
But you know, Shapolov eventually won the game by winning the last set 6-2 but it was quite a long match and he will be exhausted. Him vs Opelka match will also be a good one but Opelka might have an edge I would guess as he is quite fresh compared to Shapolov, am I right?

Yes Nadal had a good win and seems to have a nice route avoiding big players.

For todays games I'm being cautious and doing 2 bets, Medvedev and Muguruza,
conservative and safe enough I hope,

^^ Nadal has really recovered and it looks like he is healthy 100%.

So it was an easy route for him, but as you have said, in the next game, he will be facing a good player Khachanov so it will be a big test for him. Nevertheless, it might be close though, and if the odds are like -5.5 to -6.5 for him, I might take him, but if it a bit higher, then maybe I will look for other good odds in his match.

It was indeed a 5 setter win for Shapovalov, a comeback win for him. He was down a 2-1, but he had to rally and win the last 2 sets. And I think that's what separates him from the game. Kwon lacks experienced  and when Shapovalov win in the 4th 7-5, he just melted away in the 5th set.

After easily beating Kokkinakis, Hanfmann was easy prey for Nadal. He did not have great opposition so far but has started really strong. Let's see him against Khackhanov.

Nadal was really the favourite on that game, and if I'm not mistaken, the handicap opening was -10.5 for him to win against Hanfmann. It might be a tough one coming up next for him against Khachanov, but I think Nadal will win in straight sets again.

TBH it is looking a bit unpredictable bar Barty, Muguruza, Medvedev and Zverev,
thats how it feels to me so im holding off with betting tomorrow.
Not many value matches tonight but I have to play something so I went with:
Karatsev ML @1.55, I am a bit afraid of his tendency to make unforced errors but he is much better player
Bencic ML @1.6, odds are this high because her opponent has a nice win streak but Benici is 4 times better player so i expect her to get this easy
Ram/Salisbury to win 2:0, they are playing against guys who never played a professional doubles match so should be a slam dunk

Yes handy enough win by Ram/Salisbury. Vencic is playing at the moment and has
lost the first set, its on serve in the second so hopefully she can take it to 3 sets
and secure the win for you Trofo.

What Andy does have is immense skill, which is with his fitness level compensating for
his lower maneuverability and speed. In some tournaments last year he also
had a lot of 5 set wins but against say the top 5 he isnt going to keep with them.

Well, Raducanu won in the women's, which surprised me a bit as she is coming back from Covid. But it turns out Sloane Stephens was also coming back after a break, so was a bit rusty. Very difficult to gauge the level players are at so early in the year.

Nice win for Andy Murray, too, I'm very happy for him to win again at the tournament where a few years ago it looked like he would retire from tennis.
However it was a 5-setter, and last year showed that he struggles to maintain performance across a lot of matches in a short span of time, so he may suffer more than expected in the next round.

Yes great win for Andy and Emma, a lot of people wouldnt have predicted either.

A few casualties today IMO, Fernandez is out by Inglis from Australia and Kvitova
knocked out by Cirstea, and also Kerber knocked out early. Really dissapointed for Leyla,
I was expecting more from her.

Ouf, missed a really big special earlier with Medvedev. Needed him to win straight, but also the first set 6-0, as I suspected he'd go for a strong, strong start. Won the first set but 6-1, so missed out.

So far no surprises in either men's or women's to my untrained eye.

FYI there's a good Bitsler promo on 12 market. Lead by 4 games at any point and your bet refunded if your pick loses.

Harriet Dart came through on Friday, so I'm going to place another wager on her and a couple of others I missed:

Iga Swiatek - Harriet Dart       Match Winner    Harriet Dart @ 8.51    Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC    Possible Payout: 0.26 mBTC
Hailey Baptiste - Caroline Garcia    Match Winner    Caroline Garcia @ 1.41    Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC    Possible Payout: 0.04 mBTC
Stefanie Voegele - Daria Kasatkina    Match Winner   Stefanie Voegele @ 6.96   Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC    Possible Payout: 0.21 mBTC

Bit of a blood bath on those pics.

Some pics for tomorrow's matches.

Samantha Stosur usually tanks by the semis, but I'll give her another turn (it's only round two after all).  She's done fairly well with a doubles partner, Zhang who she was teamed with last year and they did fairly well, so I'm going to put a wager on them too.

Not sure how I forgot to place a wager on Madison Keys in the first round, so I've made up for it in the second round.

Women's Singles

Madison Keys - Jaqueline Cristian Match Winner Madison Keys @ 1.21 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.04 mBTC
Victoria Azarenka - Jil Teichmann Match Winner Jil Teichmann @ 3.36 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.10 mBTC

Women's Doubles

Belinda Bencic - Amanda Anisimova Match Winner Belinda Bencic @ 1.56 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.05 mBTC
Danilina/Haddad Maia - P. Badosa/E. Rybakina Match Winner P. Badosa/E. Rybakina @ 1.70 Taken Amount: 0.03 mBTC Possible Payout: 0.05 mBTC - CANCELLED

He is looking sharp, yes. And he did win the Melbourne Summer Set tournament the other week. A contender for the title, or is that going too far? It's is difficult to know where all these players are at, quite a few of them seem to have had Covid over December, some come back below par, some seemingly right at their best... the Norrie/Korda match is a good example of this, you'd expect it normally to be fairly close, but both players had their preparations disrupted by positive Covid tests, which seems to have affected Norrie more. Might make the betting a little more unpredictable this year.
In principle, Giron has not set unsolvable tasks for Nadal and Rafa should be pleased that the match was won in three sets and no extra effort was spent to achieve a positive result. As far as I know, Nadal did not give any of his serves in the match, but let's not forget that the opponent is only number 66 in the world. On the other hand, while it can be argued that the transferred COVID does not seem to have had a very negative effect on Nadal's game and fitness, but it will be possible to talk about this with confidence later. However, historically Nadal has only one title in Australia in 2009, which on the one hand indicates less chances, but on the other hand this fact may be the opposite to spur the player.

The fact that Djokovic is out now from Australia Open, means one less opponent for Rafa to worry about.

But in this match, he looked quite fit and sharp which I liked a lot. I didn't even think he would be this much fit. Even though it's against a number 66, a win like this is always appreciable as he is aging a lot, and I'm glad that the match didn't go longer as he needs to stay fresh for the next matches, right? Congrats to him for the great win.

I too felt that Rafa played with more confidence and ease in comparison to his performances seen in 2021, and maybe the fact that Djokovic is out of his way is kind of a motivation for him. Further it’s early to say if he can build on this form, and go on to win the tournament but I’m rooting for him despite knowing very well that his chances to win are slim.

What is happening with Goffin? A few years ago he looked destined to be a top 10 player, Evans blew him off the court.
Evans is a decent player, but Goffin took only 7 games - losing the last set 6-0.

I know he missed the end of last season due to constant knee problems and he forfeited recently against Murray, but I did not expect him to lose by such a margin.

I hope he recovers, he is a really talented player.

I'm doing both Tennis and Rugby bets via Nitrogen Sports - not sure if they have a ref link but I'll send you their URL.
