First test between OZ and Nz in Oz have begun and Australia won the toss and decided to bat first . This is the day night test match and Oz are now 18 for no loss . Ferguson from NZ who is fast bowler has made debut in this match .

There are actually a number of questions. Why 4 pacers and no good spinner on a wicket which is supposed to help the spinners? Why still no Fawad Alam after all the centuries he has scored in the domestic? Since Misbah came, there seems to be a hell lot of interference of politics as well as stupidity.
Sri Lanka is struggling at 202/5 and it will be difficult for them to get to a score in excess of 300. So I have to say that the Pakistani strategy worked, since in a sub-continent track they are restricting the opponents to less than 300. Yasir Shah is a promising bowler and in case the current bunch of bowlers are unable to do their job, then he'll get a chance to play during the second test.

Sri Lanka had a good start but then they started loosing wickets and Pakistan were able to have an upper hand right now and Mathews is the player they have to target as he is the only dangerous player Sri Lanka have right now and if they are able to pick his wicket then Pakistan will have a peace of mind that they will not score a huge target as they do not have the batsman to score big runs and their main player will be Babar Azam.
Everything is not lost for Srilanka and the match is still in a balanced position. If the srilanka tail enders can score 100 more runs which will give them a total around 320- 350 will be a challenging for Pakistan who are struggling a lot. I still see srilanka will dominate the match because Pakistan will make blunders in batting as usual.

If it rains, followed by draw. it raises another point as well, If you look at scorecard then you might notice that Pakistan only bowled 68 overs (Slow over rate), only 2 overs from two different part timers, in the end Stumps due to bad lights. It appears to me that many teams are not taking slow over rate seriously. India and SA both were doing same couple of months back.

First day and just 68 overs look like its very poor management by PCB as they now its very short day so they have to start some early but they are not able to do any thing first session belong to Sri Lanka and second session belong to Pakistan now if Pakistan able to have quick wickets then they can do some good otherwise I am feeling its a draw match because we have going to short nearly one day.

Its still Day 1 on this test match so we can't come into any conclusions with that 4 wickets down. 
One good partnership on any innings can change the game into their side,so Angelo Mathew and de Silva have to stay longer at the crease as much as they can then the runs will flow into their side.

.At one time Sri lanka was dominating the game but after first wicket of Karunaratne they lost 3 quick wickets against the seam (96/1 and now 129/4). Guess no big lead for them.
Actually my doubt is because of such a long format of the game. Moreover the rule of first innings lead gets the more point also sucks a little to me. That is why I think gambling might not be as popular in Ranji.
I am not saying Ranji trophy is popular among cricket fans but serious gamblers will take it as an opportunity to manipulate the matches are there are not much eyes following the matches, not sure whether spot fixing can be done in Ranji matches but the bookies with big money will always find opportunities considering the history of match fixing in India.Actually KPL is in T20 format which also attracts a lot of glamour with it which is why it's obvious such things happen in early stages. It even used to happen during initial few IPL when players like Sreesanth were found doing such things what can you expect from KPL.

So the last tour of Sri Lanka was for ODI and T20 and now the first Test after a long time, Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat and i see all their players in this tournament and hopefully the series will be a good one as both teams are not in great form but i am hoping Pakistan to do better in Test matches and Sri Lanka usually performs well once in a full moon as we saw against South Africa so we cannot under estimate the Sri Lankan team too and they won the last series in Pakistan, so it is a huge challenge for Pakistan.Well i think "Full moon" coming out for Srilanka today . they are doing good as of now, 23 overs and 75 runs for opening partnership. Dimuth Karunaratne getting big share of runs in this partnership, its seems to be a good wicket for batting and we can hope its 5 day match.

I am not sure, but Sreesanth had claimed that it was Dinesh Karthik who got him framed during the IPL scandal. I won't be surprised if it is true, because some of the TN players (Karthik, Vijay, Ashwin.etc) are known to be very close to the former ICC chief N Srinivasan. Anyway, his career is finished now as he is still serving a ban (for an offense for which he was acquitted many years ago).

Right now there is a lot of controversy surrounding a match fixing scandal involving the Karnataka Premier League (KPL). Some of the players have been arrested (Nishanth Singh Shekhawat, CM Gautam and Abrar Kazi) for match fixing and many more are being investigated. These players are very vulnerable, as their salaries are really low.
I was not aware about the match fixing scandal in KPL, the reason i said about small tournaments being vulnerable is because big time gamblers who are wagging millions of dollars could easily manipulate these small tournaments because the fixing issue was prominent in the international matches during the early 2000 and if they are able to do that why not manipulate the small tournaments.Tomorrow we have the first test between Pakistan and Srilanka, i have no idea how both these team will perform, any prediction for the match.
About Pakistan vs Sri Lanka I can say most chances this match will end in draw as weather is also not good enough and hardly they will be able to do 80 overs in a day and pitch is also helpful for batting side toss could be very cruicial for both teams as winner will try to take advantage with first bowling.
Does anyone bets on Ranji Trophy matches too? I think they are too boring and unpopular to bet on? But would love to know from anyone about how they place their bets in such matches and what are their strategies because I think most of the players are unknown and quite inconsistent too.
I am sure there are betting lines for Ranji trophy matches, you could see betting lines for private cricket tournament in major sports book and if you see those betting lines then it will be a surprise if Ranji matches does not have betting lines.
