Official announcement coming from the ICC - No use of Saliva-
They come up with 2 extra announcement as far as cricket is concern.
- Relaxation on neutral umpire rules as International flights are limited due to Covid-19.
- Extra DRS for every team in each innings.
I did not understand the logic behind banning the use of saliva when each and every player is tested, relaxation on neutral umpires can be justified but what is the option to shine the ball as it is important for the bowlers to get swing. Having extra DRS is a welcome change and you need to have the option when the technology offers, i am of the view that they limit the number of DRS allowed.

After all these press if still a player gets covid19 then the whole tournament will be at risk. That is why they have banned the use of saliva. Still, I feel it is very illogical as through sneeze and hugging still players can get this virus.

Saliva banned is the best thing. Another thing could that hugging or handshake with players might be not allowed or people themselves will refrain to do and from social distance only will try to celebrate and motivate each other. Things will definitely be not the same as it used to be past for some months later on it can be back to normal.

Handshake and hugging is already banned as now we have first round of German Bundesliga which was very good and hopefully with this we will able to have some more sports in action in next few weeks because now world is feeling some better with this all even we have no vaccine and its going to take time but some brave decisions can take good advantages for all players and peoples.

This should have been done at least three decades ago. In none of the other sports, we have such unhygienic practices. Imagine some Japanese or Korean watching cricket players applying saliva to the ball. In these countries, they give a lot of importance to personal hygiene, and such practices would attract instant consternation. Anyway, at least now ICC has reacted in a positive manner.
In baseball using saliva or Vaseline is illegal but they used to do that in the past and there is no other sport that use a ball like cricket and shining of the ball is necessary for a bowler, now all the rules favor the batsman and if they do not allow to shine the ball then it will be difficult for bowler to swing.
If cricket is included in the Olympics then people from Japan and Korea will use spit to shine the ball Tongue .

Couple of big names in cricketing world were raising the very same argument "LOGIC".

I would say that banning use of saliva is one of the precautionary step similar to quarantine, isolation, social distancing etc.

I am not just talking about the direct taxes that the BCCI pay to the government. There are indirect taxes as well. For example, when Star Sports or some other channel broadcast a particular match, they need to pay taxes. When some advertiser shows his ad during these matches, they need to pay the taxes. The indirect taxes related to IPL may be 10 times or 20 times larger than the direct tax total.
Earlier i told about the direct tax the government gets from alcohol alone and if you take a look at the indirect tax they get from hotel and other industry then it will be pale in comparison. I am not claiming that it is not generating any tax but if you claim that cricket is generating a fair share for the Indian economy then these are not the facts as BCCI is just a part of the larger picture.

For more clarity fiscal year 2019, ₹14.60 trillion was collect as tax while BCCI was supposed to pay ₹1303 crore while they only paid ₹462 crore.

Do you think BCCI needs compliment for that, everyone is bound to pay the tax and if they are getting money why do they need exemption, i want everyone to be treated equally Wink.

In countries such as India and Bangladesh, the sports sector is huge. And in most cases, the government taxes them very heavily. They have the option to suspend the sporting events until the situation gets better. But the economic loss is going to be huge. This is one of the aspects of the economy, which never gets its own fair share of compliment. Just check how much tax revenue goes to the Indian government after each edition of the IPL, and you'll get an idea of what I meant.
Looks like you are underestimating the amount of money the government is getting from other sectors as tax, the BCCI is not even paying the entire tax levied upon them and they are asking for exceptions and the income tax department asked them to pay 1303 crore and they are yet to pay everything.

Do you know that the government collect 1,75,501.42 crore as tax from alcohol alone and you are talking about a small percentage BCCI is paying as tax as a huge revenue for the government and that too they are asking for tax exceptions Roll Eyes.

If you are not one of those football hooligans, I don't see a valid reason for not staying at home and watching the match on TV. With 5 million people infected across the globe, this pandemic is not a joke. It is the responsibility of the government to push economy back on track. But that doesn't mean that they are going to allow tens of thousands of fans to crowd around in the cricket stadiums, where the average distance between two fans will be somewhere in the vicinity of 2cm.
Not sure when the cricket will be back, even if they plan to resume there is no way we are going to see audience participation especially in Asian countries where you get a huge crowd for every match. The government is responsible to push the economy back on tract especially the manufacturing sector but they have nothing to do with sporting events.

This is really big question how and when we will be able to have live matches in grounds because its not easy for any country to set this all hopefully we will able to have matches without crowd in next few weeks as England is talking with West Indies and Pakistan I am feeling these countries will go ahead and give this a try for Spirit of Cricket like Soccer.
In soccer, Manchester City players are back training and so does many teams started the training and if soccer can resume the tournaments then why not cricket and England and West Indies will resume their series and hopefully the other nations will follow in the coming months. I have no idea about the situation in Pakistan but if the cricket board is able to regroup then it would be great.

All kinds of sports events are about to re-start again, What is the future of Test-cricket in the current situation?
Is it at all possible to protect the players and audience for such a long time if the corona vaccine cannot be discovered in near future? It seems Test-cricket board doesn't care much about Gallery supporters.
If the cricket board is able to test all the players and not allow audience in the stadium then they can resume the matches, i am not expecting a vaccine in the near future as it might take years to develop as it needs intensive testing before using it to humans. If the players are not having outside contact then there is nothing much to worry.

In my opinion Test cricket will also be resume but stadiums will remain empty. I think from now on all kinds of sports events will be conducted without the crowd. German football league has started and they are playing in empty stadium. This system will prevail untill a cure is out, which might take more than a year from now on.

This is a really good sign for sports enthusiasts like us we can now again watch our favourite players playing our favourite sports on our TV's.

Meanwhile, according to the new decision, the T20 World Cup is going to be held in October, but it is Short-term game, hope there will be nothing problems and The ICC is taking this decision after ensuring security, maybe the ODI game will start soon.

Guys what's your perspective? what do you think about Test match?

I'll be overjoyed if international cricket starts within the next few weeks. It was really depressing for the last two months, with no live action to watch. But that said, I am really concerned about the safety of the players. Obviously one of the teams need to travel by flight, and under current circumstances it doesn't look like a good option. Even now, large number of air travelers are testing positive for the virus.

For increasing quality in domestic cricket BCCI should do some reform like every player from the national test team should play at least 2 test match every year for their state teams. Make this rule mandatory for premier player as well (Kohli, Bumrah,Shami) , manage their workload smartly by giving them break during any unnecessary T-20 or ODI series.

You can imagine the quality of cricket and viewership when likes of Kohli and Bumrah playing for their home team Delhi and Gujarat respectively. It might help young talents too.

I disagree. BCCI should not force anyone. If they player want to play for his Ranji Trophy side, the he can and in case he don't want to do that then the authorities should respect that decision. The major players are complaining about increasing work load with the international calendar. At this point, how can we ask them to play more matches? But still, I have seen players such as KL Rahul and Ashwin playing for domestic sides.

Authorities do respect their decision regarding playing in Domestic arena and some players exploiting the system repeatedly. Dhawan, Dhoni bluntly refused to play in Ranji and we all know what happened to Ambati Raydu when he retired from Domestic games after getting selected in the national team.

KL Rahul recently started playing when he got kicked out from the test team. Ashwin, Ishant, Umesh Yadav, Pritvi, Vihari, Mayank aggrawal already play for their respective team whenever they get the chance.

About complaining part, BCCI can manage their work load if they don't focus on dead series every now and then.

@JSRAW while your suggestions are noble but it’ll never be implemented by BCCI because their sponsors won’t allow top player’s to skip international cricket, and participate in domestic cricket matches as it’ll effect their channel’s viewership.

This might be a valid reason.
