Man city won't be able to win back to back, let's no deceive ourselves.
You are the only one deceiving yourself with the believe that they will not be able to win it again. This season before they succeeded in winning the treble, there was also a lot of doubts about if the club will be able to go all through and when everything but they did. Next season it would not matter what we think or if you believe that they will not be able to defend the title again. Manchester City will come all out again to try to win the premiership, the Champions League and any other competition that they find themselves in. As far as Pep Guardiola is still the coach, the team standard will not drop.

One of the words that define Pep Guardiola is continuity. This year, he will do his best to continue his success. At the same time, both Real Madrid and PSG will come back strong and try to make up for their disappointment this year. The upcoming champions league could be the most competitive champions league ever. Because this year, Manchester City eliminated their opponents with a big game advantage. Now the goal will be not only to break the trophy, but also to break Manchester City's good game.

The Champions League is one of the most elite competitions on European soil, Manchester City have just won the trophy for the first time in their history. Next season it is still unknown what surprises will happen next, whether Manchester City will successfully defend the title or PSG will follow in the footsteps of Manchester City. One of the surprises that will be present in the Champions League will come from Newcastle, the club owner will not remain silent after his team has qualified for the UCL. The power of money that Newcastle has can bring in quality players to boost the quality of the team.

Real Madrid as the team that has collected the most UCL trophies will do anything to make up for its failure after being humiliated by Manchester City at the Etihad stadium. Perez, who is known to be ambitious, will bring in quality players to win the most prestigious trophy in European competition. Mbappe is still his prey until now, it is very realistic if he really wants Mbappe because Real Madrid just lost Benzema who moved to the Arab League.
The UEFA Champions League is not just in the league of most elite competitions in the world, they're specifically the second most prestigious trophy in the world and the most important club competition in the world as well.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are the current champions and deservedly they are but one thing about Pep Guardiola is always loved to dominate football which is why other European clubs should be on the lookout for Manchester City come next season because he would definitely want to replicate winning the title again.

To be honest, even though we already know the teams that will be playing in the Champions League next season but still, because even at this moment it is still in the moment of rest for all the leagues. So of course, we will not be able to predict the ability and or performance of each team. Because after all, each team will also get new players and players who leave, so to predict their current performance for the Champions League match later I think it's still too early.
Indeed, it seems that we cannot discuss further about the performance of the teams participating in next season's Champions League because everyone is still on a break and I quite agree with your opinion, but at least we can discuss about the teams that have managed to qualify for next season's Champions League. We know there will be many unexpected newcomers and maybe friends here will start discussing them later. We can also discuss head to head between teams that haven't met for a long time and can finally meet face to face through a Champions League match next season. I think this kind of discussion will never end because everyone has different views and I see this as a positive form of interest in football.

But does anyone of you still think Manchester City can defend the Champions League title next season?

Why not? The players of Manchester City have finally won the Champions League and finally freed themselves from the huge pressure of winning this trophy.
On the example of Real, you can see that the first champions league is the most difficult to win, but after that it is much easier to win new champions leagues because the pressure is much less, the experience of winning the Champions League is already there and players play decisive games with much more confidence and self-belief.
Without any doubt, Manchester City will remain the main favorite to win the Champions League in the coming years and will surely win this trophy several more times.
With Mbappe and other new players, Real will probably remain Manchester City's main competitor in the Champions League.

I already have a list of favorite teams
- Manchester City
- Real Madrid
-Bayern
Among these three teams, I would list Manchester City and Real Madrid as the most favorite teams. Next season Real Madrid will undoubtedly be far ahead of the other teams for the Champions League. Real Madrid have already signed Jobe Bellingham to bolster their midfield. And Real Madrid are planning to sign another main striker. Just think how much stronger Real Madrid could be if they could bring in Harry Kane or Mbappe. Real Madrid have lost one season, but they are certainly favorites for the next season.

I had also included Napoli in the past, but if they sell their best striker, I'll remove him from the list of possible teams
After I add a poll, how about writing the possible teams?
I think we already have the list of teams competing

I join my voice with those saying it's too early to also say that it's rather too early to start discussing about the eufa champions league for the 2023/2024 season, there are no information of any kind about the game formation available yet, and neither is there any Information on when exactly the tournament will begin, so what exactly are we to be discussing about?

In the end, peeps are still going to continue discussing the happenings In the just concluded season, rather than topics relating to the coming season..

For some people, it will be too soon to start talking about the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League of the upcoming season, but I don't think it's a bad idea to do so because we all know which teams have qualified for the Champions League of the upcoming season in each league. We may not know very much, but at least we can predict some of the teams because we are hearing some details and some new player signs by each team.
I'm trying to convey that talking about the upcoming season isn't all that horrible because the league will start very soon and it will be excellent if we start talking about it as fans of every team.

Our highest expectation in the Champions League is from Real Madrid this season is no exception. We considered Real Madrid as one of the favorites for the Champions League this season but in the end Real Madrid failed to reach the final. First they lost the league title and then they lost the Champions League meaning that this season has been as good for Manchester City as it has been for Real Madrid. Of course, Real Madrid has identified their weak points. Karim Benzema has already been released by Real Madrid and is trying to bring in Mbappe as his replacement. Real Madrid will have the best eleven in Europe if Mbappe can be included in the Real Madrid team.

Since Real Madrid is the most successful team in the champions league that's pretty much normal to see people expecting to see Real Madrid win the next champions league and they have more chance there especially when you know they are hiring players like Mbappe and Bellingham.

Yes Real Madrid have won 14 Champions League titles until now. They are far away from their closest competitor which is Milan - 7 titles. This is a huge domination as a result and they would like to keep it that way of course. But this season showed us how much weakness they had in fact while they were on their way to the finale.

Manchester City stopped them halfway by a really hard hit. Real Madrid need to invest into their defense area as well. I understand how they care about their midfield and attacking line. They will need to bring a new player for the centre-forward position as well now. But in the same way we need to see a better centre-back transfer in my opinion. Gvardiol can be an option to go for but Manchester City might join the race too.

Aside from that Bellingham is about to join the team soon but Mbappe will have to wait for one more season. But when he also comes here Real Madrid can activate the unstoppable mode.  Grin

I also think it's a bit too early to start talking about it, also because the transfer market has to take place and some nations could place additional teams on the list.
For sure the winner take always the spot for the next year... let's see how it proceed but anyway it's always "a long battle" up to the finale...
Why is OP in a rush when we still have the fresh memory of this season finals and we are still discussing on it. Moreover, there is already a thread on UCL which we have been discussing on that the OP,do edit whenever a new season starts. Personally,I don't have anything to say because I can't look into the future, transfers hasn't be made and we don't know how strong this clubs will be. It is when next season starts that one can have a proper insight of the league. Man city won't be able to win back to back, let's no deceive ourselves.
Why do you think that Manchester City cannot win the Champions League back to back, it could be you that is deceiving yourself here. Just look at last season and season ago Manchester city is the Champions league team of the year for upto 3 consecutive times if I am not mistakakikg. This shows how good the Guardiola team has turned out to be. They dominated the CL team of the year and not many of them will leave the club this season. So it is expected that Manchester City will get to the finals and win the Champions League consecutive.

I do not underestimate them, but I really doubt if they can win that Champions League back to back, has anyone done that asides Real Madrid?
Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester United though, they're yet to make quality additions to the squad. Even Inter Milan can come back next season to win, they did great just that they didn't have that killer player to open Manchester Citys defense. But anyways, we still have two months until the next Champions League kick's off.

Exacly, several teams will try to strengthen their team by bringing in several new players. All leagues have sent their best teams to qualify for the group stage, but some of them still have to qualify from the qualifying round. La Liga is the league that has sent the most representatives after Sevilla won the Europa League title, so apart from Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletcio Madrid and Real Sociedad, Sevilla is one more.

But does anyone of you still think Manchester City can defend the Champions League title next season?

every season has its own challenges for the teams that are fighting in the champions league, and i'm sure in the next UCL season we will see again how man city fights hard to be able to win the UCL trophy, to be honest in the final match when facing inter, i saw man city play sangta is not good, they are quite lucky because inter failed to score. what I will pay attention to in the next season is man utd and real madrid, these two teams will definitely not give up again and we will see how they fight tooth and nail to win the UCL trophy from man city.

I think you are right on that plus the fact that international games will be going on like the African nation cup and Europe nation league will also leave a lot of ups and downs in the performance of the players when they resume back for club performance. But notwithstanding following up with the stats of team and signing after this international games can give an insight to how clubs will be ready to face off during champions league.

I agree with your point that Manchester city can win UCL back to back because they won this season which was their first time in history and they have being appearing more than three consecutive years before they finally won it,therefore it is possible.

On the other hand let us not think that other clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona will be sleeping and allow City to win them if they come in clash with each other. Luck also count in winning, from the way I saw the finals,it was luck that gave City the victory and not by their effort because they have really tried in appearance on this league over the years. Inter outplayed City and missed two great opportunities. Football is full of surprises and we should expect such. Who would believe it that Manchester city will mess Madrid up like that in the second leg semifinals. A strong club can become weak tomorrow and a weak club can become strong tomorrow.

yes, perhaps I opened it well in advance, I admit it
but this year it was a very fun Champions League
as was the championship, so many twists and turns and not the usual stuff that the same obvious teams win

really this season has been very exciting, I have seen new faces winning and this is the top

@babo even though it’s early I’m glad that we’re having an active discussion on it as I’m missing CL a lot and after what we saw this season I feel that in the upcoming season we will see another team win it and most likely it’ll be Real Madrid. Lastly the reason I say that they’ll win is because *Mbappe is most likely joining them and with him in the team they’ll become really powerful hence I feel that they’ll win it (*his refusal to extend his contract hints this possibility).

Of course the best expectations on Man City as champions will be great. I think if they haven't lost a lot of players this season and they're going to get new additions, it's certainly a great chance of Pep holding the UCL cup at the Etihad.
But it is very difficult to guess next season, because there will still be many transfer markets that will happen. I think every team will look for the best players to add strength in the transfer season in order to get the best achievements. I think rich clubs like Madrid who were not active in the transfer market last season will take advantage of the transfer season that starts June 14.
