Manchester City got their first trophy this season, maybe they still have a chance to be the favorites team again in next season, if there are no changes in their squad. But I think they can certainly reach the top 8 or even semi-finals, but also to win again I think it's too early because there are many big clubs who have pocketed tickets for next season. We can't underestimate them either especially Inter, although they unlucky this season but they can reach to the finals, it's a sign of how strong they are this season and maybe next season they can showing more optimal.
If there is no change in the team then we can expect the current team of Manchester City in the next season as well. But Manchester City must maintain their consistency.
Real Madrid are one of the favorites in the Champions League but they have already made a number of changes to their squad and have a few more targets this transfer season. If Real Madrid is able to assemble the team properly and Manchester City is able to maintain their consistency, then Real Madrid and Manchester City will be the two most favorite teams in the Champions League in the 23-24 season.

I join my voice with those saying it's too early to also say that it's rather too early to start discussing about the eufa champions league for the 2023/2024 season, there are no information of any kind about the game formation available yet, and neither is there any Information on when exactly the tournament will begin, so what exactly are we to be discussing about?

In the end, peeps are still going to continue discussing the happenings In the just concluded season, rather than topics relating to the coming season..

Even though the season is just about to end, i think everyone is already anticipating the 2023/2024 champions league. The way some clubs were playing at the end of this season scared everyone and made them wonder what will happen next in the upcoming campaign. Manchester City actually surprised everyone by winning three titles in a row, so let's see what the other teams can do in the season to come. Let's all wish for a better season next year as everything is just excitement. i don't even enjoy this season again since am also excited for the next season.

There is no way this thread wouldn't end up as spam. Many people don't give into the Champions League if the group stage hasn't been drawn for qualifying teams, this thread will just be a regular chunk of posts where users who don't have any clue about playoffs or anything prior to the group stage, and in addition, people will continue with the previous discussion of the Champions League, when there is nothing to say here again.

My opinion goes with what so many people have suggested, the thread should be locked, there are so many transfers going on right now, and those who feel they don't have things to do may consider those threads or look out for other threads that discuss other sports like Basketball, racing, and UFC.

I also think it's a bit too early to start talking about it, also because the transfer market has to take place and some nations could place additional teams on the list.
For sure the winner take always the spot for the next year... let's see how it proceed but anyway it's always "a long battle" up to the finale...

yes, perhaps I opened it well in advance, I admit it
but this year it was a very fun Champions League
as was the championship, so many twists and turns and not the usual stuff that the same obvious teams win

really this season has been very exciting, I have seen new faces winning and this is the top
No problem man and I think there's nothing wrong with making a champions league thread for next season from now on because participants from various leagues also have new faces coming to enliven this competition. Talking about the champions league will always be fun because we know that now is the time to change the era to other young players after veterans have started leaving Europe or even retiring, so I think we will also see new young talents or football stars who Shining even more through the Champions League. Apart from all that, becoming a player who can win the champion league title is the dream of all players throughout Europe.

Why is OP in a rush when we still have the fresh memory of this season finals and we are still discussing on it. Moreover, there is already a thread on UCL which we have been discussing on that the OP,do edit whenever a new season starts. Personally,I don't have anything to say because I can't look into the future, transfers hasn't be made and we don't know how strong this clubs will be. It is when next season starts that one can have a proper insight of the league. Man city won't be able to win back to back, let's no deceive ourselves.
Why do you think that Manchester City cannot win the Champions League back to back, it could be you that is deceiving yourself here. Just look at last season and season ago Manchester city is the Champions league team of the year for upto 3 consecutive times if I am not mistakakikg. This shows how good the Guardiola team has turned out to be. They dominated the CL team of the year and not many of them will leave the club this season. So it is expected that Manchester City will get to the finals and win the Champions League consecutive.

As you can see that la liga has been sending 5 teams to the UCL. We are having some new names that was rarely playing in UCL like newcastle united.

Arsenal will be also coming to the UCL after it has become trophyless this season.

Im not yet including some teams that may be able to enter into the UCL through play off.
There are some pretty interesting names now such as Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle for the EPL, Sociedad for La Liga, Lens for Ligue 1 and Lazio in Serie A.
These are new names though in this case we know their capabilities but for the Champions League they are new contestants for the group stage now.
It's interesting actually with the current conditions for the Champions League because indeed with their current conditions and positive trends, there are still great expectations for them at this time. it's just that when talking about winning candidates, I think the probability is still the same as in previous seasons.

We can't say much at this point but I'm pretty sure that City won't win it again. They need 1 bad game in knockout stage and they will be out. Going 2years without bad game it's really hard and City does not have legacy of Real M to do that.
The current conditions still need to be seen through some progress because indeed even we still cannot determine how the pot will go in the group phase and how the big clubs will change some of their players this time considering that the club candidates are also a bit diverse now.
We just need to wait for the continuation of this matter, while the champion is still too far to be discussed because we still need to wait for every line-up at certain clubs.
but for the candidate I don't think it will be too much different from before because it's like a certainty.

I feel like we need another format change in champions league. I know its not possible this season as process is already underway but for next season (s). 4 teams in a group procedure is like the most simple procedure. But its always like 2 strong teams vs 1 weak to mediocre team vs 1 weak team. So group stages are generally boring for bigger teams. Most of them play with second squads at last match of group or last 2. I still think that group stage should be with 3 teams at max to increase competition here. On the other hand I think it's early and its gonna be again between premier league vs la liga vs bayern vs psg vs some italian teams. like always hahah.
Format group depend on the previous participants and how far their stage qualifier in Champion League season 2022/23, I can give example with Barcelona failure last  Champion League participants after eliminating in group stage and for next season actually Barcelona will face with bigger team in group stage. But I don't see the format Champion League 2023/24 season is the same or not, how ever still left many teams in playoff qualifier round before drawing in group stage.

Seems potential with Italy, Spain and  Bundesliga teams will in the same group actually for Barcelona, but lest waiting with Champion League drawing pot and how Barcelona in easy pot group or not.

The Champions League is a very prestigious competition in Europe, several big clubs compete to get the title, besides that, one of the motivated for champions is the prize, so, has anyone know how much money the club gets in the preliminary round, a round of 16 finals, quarterfinals, and semifinals?.

We can't say much at this point but I'm pretty sure that City won't win it again. They need 1 bad game in knockout stage and they will be out. Going 2years without bad game it's really hard and City does not have legacy of Real M to do that.
The English club rarely got the champion in a row except in 1976-1982 years. besides instability, the English club like City are still exploring between players. So, I think this year, the champions are back again to La Liga club, Barcelona or Madrid.

That being said, I agree with your point, but we can't completely exclude the possibility that they can perform as well as or better than Real Madrid in the Champions League. We won't be able to make a decision until next season's Champions League begins and we watch how each team performs in both their domestic league and the Champions League group stage matches. We can at that point make conclusions or guess on how the champions league will play out in the end.

Man City deserves to win their first UCL trophy, they are the strongest team in UCL the last season. They experienced no losses in UCL last season, they only got draws. For the next season, Man City will remain the favorite team because they are the defending champion. I'm sure there will be no significant change in Man City team, they have enough money to guarantee their players get enough salaries. However, other teams begin to strengthen their squads as well, Man City may have a big challenge for the next season. Man City must be careful to keep the quality of their squad because UCL can be more competitive in the next season.
In this transfer market all teams will make significant changes in their squad to be stronger in the next season. Now speaking of the strongest candidate, of course Manchester City is still at the forefront of winning the title. However, in the next season, several new teams or those who have been absent for a long time will return to decorate the ucl competition next season, such as Manchester United, Newcastle United or Lazio. I think this team team will change their squad in this season's transfer window where newcastle united is reported to be launching a lot of budget for Howe in recruiting many players in this season's transfer window.  Barcelona also cannot be underestimated, it is certain that they will be able to provide strong resistance in the ucl next season.

I really wonder one thing especially from now on. Will Manchester City be able to start a serious of Champions League titles? Or can they start to win this title by short breaks? However I feel like it is too much to ask from Manchester City for now. Because nothing is clear about how they will perform even next season.

Manchester City are normally not a winner team in the Champions League. They wasted their chances on the road going to the championship countless times. I still remember how desperate they were against Chelsea in the 2020/2021 season finale. They have finally put an end to this and won a title here but it wasn't easy either.

On the other hand I don't expect Guardiola to make changes in his system. He will always continue to do what he has known the best so far. So it might still be a very difficult run for them next time depending on how the other title contenders will perform.

I take it that, given the opportunity of a locked previous thread on this subject and the closure of the league, starting a unique thread that would span many discussions for a long time is something most of us would like but, like it's been said by some already,
Is it not too early to be discussing about 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League? We are heading to pre-season which should be what we supposed to be discussing about for now. I mean pre-matches and transfers.
I go with the rest of users here that says, it's way too early. The previous season just ended 2days ago with Manchester City emerging as the 2022/23 champions and would be title defenders through the 2023/24 season but at this time, a lot is unclear and having to speculate anything would be doing it without several statistics to go by. The transfers aren't done and the teams strength can't be qualified. It's just too early.

Real Madrid must have found out how bad they were against Manchester City. They will really need to make a big improvement for next season. They need to stay strong in offense and defense both. Manchester City just tore their defense apart in the second leg. Now Benzema has left the team people are wondering who will be filling his space in the team.

Real Madrid should make their investment in the right way to become much more competitive in the Champions League again. They can actually make some adjustments in the defense line as well. Because I found the defenders quite desperate against Manchester City attackers.
Indeed. After Man City eliminated them in the semi-final round, Real Madrid already evaluated their squad. We can see that Real Madrid has started to rebuild again their squad, especially on the attacking line. There are only 2 attackers on Real Madrid squad (Vinicius and Rodrygo), Real Madrid needs some attackers to replace those players who left the club. The main target should be a new center forward (CF), a new striker who can replace Benzema's position. There is a rumor that Real Madrid is trying to sign Harry Kane, but it looks like not easy for Real Madrid to negotiate with Tottenham.

Well, Real Madrid defense line is also not strong enough. They need some new defenders, especially for left and right backs. They also need 1 strong center back at least. I hope Real Madrid will consider putting Nacho Fernández and Jesús Vallejo on the transfer list.

For now their is every possibility for them retaining that trophy as their squad is currently the best so far and most big team are currently facing a lot of challenge so this is actually their best time to become champion of Europe twice but like you said it all depends on the squad performance in this new season campaign because a lot of changes I guess would come and most teams would have been familiar with their game style now so they would have deviced a way to stop their deadly counter.
