FC Bayern München got two fines of 20,000 euros from the UEFA. What a joke to be honest. The Bayern fans were demonstrating for fair ticket prices. How is it possible, that showing a banner which criticizes the insane ticket prices is a “transmitting a provocative message of an offensive nature”?

Prices for the Champions League games are just outrages. A regular family struggles even to pay for the entrance fee to the game. The costs for the full football experience (drinks, food, merch) are just insane nowadays. Instead of fining FC Bayern the UEFA should seriously think about, whether European football should be only for the rich people or for everyone..

Bayern was ordered by UEFA to pay 20,000 euros for “transmitting a provocative message of an offensive nature” during the Champions League game at Chelsea in February. UEFA also fined Bayern an extra 20,000 euros for crowd disturbances at Stamford Bridge.

I think rules are rules, no matter the intention and good will of protesters, once you budge the laws, you get fined.
There are reports that emotions are leaving football and its more business oriented, but i dont'agree.

i believe passion and money, helps the game alot.

No favoritism, once you break a uefa rule, you pay the price.

Unfortunately modern football is no longer intended for everyone but only to those that can afford to pay for it. If you consider all the different limitations they put on hardcore fans, ultras, or whatever you want to call them, that is exactly what they are doing. Get rid of the fans behind the goals, they pay too little and create trouble. No drums, no megaphones, limitations on banners and symbols... Create a theater-like atmosphere that rick families will enjoy, and they will come to the games, buy their expensive foods and drinks, visit the museums, and buy an expensive shirt.

We could still care about watching games but coming back has nothing to do with viewers or fans. I mean a bit about the fans, but the main point is the teams will have to pay billions of dollars in total for penalties and other stuff for everything in total and billions of dollars in lost income as well. So basically this "leagues could come back" type of thing is basically not for us the fans but for the teams as well, the teams needs that money to continue operate.

Considering they are already playing at a very risky level already financially by just getting huge sponsor deals and all of that, they are actually barely surviving and not profiting all that much, which causes them to be in even more of a risk next year when they will not only get the money they hoped they would get but also pay a fine for not playing as well. Which is why it should come back one way or another, keep it at bare minimum under 100 people just players and staff and some security and medical, test players before and after each game periodically if you can, but one way or another they should definitely continue, otherwise it would be a doom for the future of football and the clubs.

If we want to see Champions League being played again, we firstly have to see all the European leagues to be played again.
By the time at least one of the leagues is postponed we are not going to see the competition proceeding anymore.

It's not really about the European leagues resuming anymore for us to see if the Champions League will resume, it's all about the status of the European countries part of the Champions League and as of right now I don't think it will be any time soon. Italy and most recently Spain have already overtaken China with their death toll and now UK's spread seems to be worsening and worsening and the worst part is they just have announced their lockdown recently. With all these in consideration you cannot even think about their local league resuming anymore this year if they will continue this kind of pace. Slowing down the infection or having some kind of vaccine as a cure is the only possibility here for all of the leagues and the UCL to resume.

That's exactly what I am telling.
The situation has become worse and it will continue to become worse...
It started with Italy, then Spain, now the UK and in the future I think that Germany is going to be hit. The biggest countries in the Europe. If they do not control the virus then the Champions League might get postponed.

As football fan’s we’re obsessed with the champions league, but now I feel that it’s time to understand the gravity of the situation and accept the fact that we may not see the champions league finals happening this season. Also I understand that many of us would be disappointed by this outcome, but we should pray for the infected victims rather than praying for champions league to resume anytime soon.

Humanity is basically fighting this big virus thing that is threatening all of our lives, I don't know if we should even care about Uefa. That is the thing I have been seeing here that scares me the most, people all talking about when football will comeback and when they will be able to watch some more. I get that you are stuck at home and you want to see more games, you have every right to "want" something like that.

However football players are human as well, we should just want them to stay at home as well, ever player that has an infection is another football player getting it from him, so we should definitely make sure we keep every single player at home. We should never give anyone (not just football players) any reason to go out, everyone should stay in.

In European countries have penetrated to other countries, the most deadly is in Europe where many victims have died due to this virus, especially in Italy which became the first virus in Europe to emerge very quickly in the next few intervals.

The champions league will definitely be postponed regardless of the match in Europe and the condition gets worse so inevitably the match is postponed to a limit that has not been determined by its leaders.

Let's keep the faith that we will soon get out of this world crisis. God is the only one who has the power to help us. We will soon celebrate when a vaccine is available to immunize us. And we will follow our usual lifestyle and we have to commit ourselves to take care of the planet and ourselves so that something similar does not happen.

UEFA Champions League is one of the most beloved spectacles of humanity we will look forward to enjoying them again.
Here are our idols also putting their contribution to preventing the pandemic from spreading.

My prediction, and too bad Spurs got knocked out already ;( is that all the clubs will be able to play full strength teams all healthy,,, but not all match fit. So we might be seeing full squads but the football will not be very nice to watch when it all restarts again.
Not nice at all, not just that they wouldn't be fit physically, they would not also be fit mentally and psychologically, everything happening is a huge psychological blow for everyone, seeing people in your beloved country dying, even some of their teammates have tested positive to the virus, it's not easy to put your kits on and start playing again, it'll take long to get the right rhythm and flow for the beautiful game again.

Whenever football resumes, it's going to be a bitter sweet reaction from fans and players all over the world, it'll increase unity and love though, this whole scenario has had a lot to teach us.

You are right about the rythm and flow of play from players, but still the best bet is to play out this current campaign.
Then sit out the next one for holidays, international games and EURO 2021, as well as CONMEBOL AND CAF competitions with the OLYMPICS too.

Hopefully, its beautiful as soon as possible.

Lets stay safe.

Just forget about the vaccine this year...discovering one, testing it in mammals then humans, approving it and starting mass production will take several months, at least 6 months imo.
And it is not only about European countries, even if Europe will have 0 cases after 4 months, the risk of new infection spread persists from countries neighbouring Europe, besides first contamination doesn't guarantee immunisation + new mutation is discovered in Iceland tho today which makes situation even worse...
2020 is a catastrophic year, someone press acceleration button, i want to move to July or August at least  Cry

^  Yup.  Feels like your body has just woken up and it needs more time on the pitch to get your momentum back.  It could be good betting on the underdogs.  Lol.

If (and I hope we do) the season resumes you’re right, it could be a good idea to bet on an underdog, who knows maybe PSG will win it finally. I think Bayern are looking really good right now though.

I remember playing after many months even keeping fit in gym, when you are on the field again it is completely different.

This was expected as football is postponed everywhere in Europe. The Spanish Soccer Federation agreed to suspend every football event until a new order from the government.Such situation is everywhere in the countries of the teams that are still playing in Champions League in this phase so it is only natural that the Champions is postponed until a new second notice.

The finals of the Uefa Champions League and Europa League are now officially postponed with no date.

This was obvious after the postpon of Euro now called 2021.

This was really an inevitable decision to happen and I was wondering why members here are assuming that since they postponed the Euros first it was because they want to give priority for both UCL and UEL which looking at it realistically isn't possible. Europe particularly in Italy, U.K., Spain, and France doesn't show signs of the infection slowing down and these four countries who have a lot of infections are the ones who are still part of the Champions league so without them recovering until now I don't see UEFA continuing their competition. Other than that we have seen reports of teams having players being infected with the COVID-19 some of them are even the star of the team like Dybala and I don't think Juventus will let the competition continue with their team being underpowered.

@Theb yea we all knew this was coming and I too wasn’t optimistic about the leagues resuming again anytime soon, but now we officially know that’s it’s not coming in April or May. In my personal opinion we won’t have the 2020 - 2021 season instead we will see the resumption of 2019 - 2020 season sometime later in the year and once all the leagues end then Euro 2021 will be played (*this is just my theory, not a official statement*).
