I think that Liverpool - Milan game was quite emotional. I still remember the Champions League finale in 2005 between these two teams. Liverpool made an insane comeback from 3-0 then and even won the title after the penalty shoot-outs. And they played against each other in 2007 in this tournament again. But they didn't play since 2007 until this game. This was a meaningful game for both teams. And I must admit that we watched another very exciting and delightful game. Each team got ahead in the game but Liverpool managed to be the winner at the end by 3-2. What a game it was!

Yes but the situation changes every season and Liverpool are more dominant I have to say that Liverpool deserved to win because they played an impressive game
And in the next game in the next few months I'm sure Milan will avenge this defeat maybe with a higher score I don't see Liverpool having a chance there.
Almost Serie A team when win they will make more defensive than playing attractive and make many goal again, Liverpool keep play dominance and almost attractive how to make goal again although success make first goal, but Milan after success first half win with score 1-2 they play with slowly on second half and give chance for Liverpool made three goals. I think need pressing almost 90 minutes if want to win and AC Milan have do it when play for second match with ATM.

To be honest, I really admire Sheriff Tiraspol, they come from a league that is classified as very weak, maybe they can enter the Champions League group stage, it's a pride for them, especially in the first match they managed to beat a giant team from Ukraine (Shakhtar Donetsk).

But it looks like it will be difficult for them (Sheriff Tiraspol) In their second Champions League match, they will face Real Madrid (Nightmare for many clubs) Cheesy
the positive side is that the sheriff can learn a lot from european teams which even in the group stage they are actually underdogs because indeed they have just started entering the most prestigious league in europe.
and the win in the first game was a good start but on the other hand there are two teams in this group who are regulars in the Champions League namely madrid and inter. It would be great and it would be beautiful history if the sheriffs could move on to the next round but even if they failed they learned a very valuable lesson from here.

Sheriff is the biggest underdog currently in the last 10 years at least in the champions league. They have gone far in the qualfications and made it to the group faze and even won for their first game at home. So i think they can even go far they are writting history for their country

While that is generally true, you would definitely expect the three to also create their chances on their own (as a trio I mean). Then again surprises are always possible, same with Young Boys and Manchester United. Sometimes it is even a bit harder during the group stage against smaller clubs because for them every game is like a final.
I would definitely say that PSG is going to play an important role during this tournament.
I do not understand how people are expecting Mbappe and Messi to be getting along very well. Mbappe is literally rejecting offers from PSG to extend his contract and is willing to leave the team for free, dude wants to go to Real Madrid because he likes Ronaldo so much and does or did hated Messi, he was a Ronaldo fanboy when he was younger and if you asked him if he would trade Messi and Ronaldo from psg to united today in exchange for extending his contract, dude would sign a 5 year contract at PSG for that trade.

So, this is just senseless and useless talk about how these trio will get along, they won't because two of them basically hate each other at worst, dislike each other at best. Neymar is at the between, he played with Messi and likes him, and playing with Mbappe for how many years and likes him too, he is like that friend during break up who doesn't know who to continue be friends with.

No, they are professional enough and I think even Ronaldo and Messi could be successful if they were to play for the same team. The reason I believe that Mbappe and Messi fill will into the same team is that Mbappe has this insane speed and Messi an absolutely unbelievable precision in his passing and an abnormal sense for free space that is going to open up for rocket fast players like Mbappe. So just considering their skills they should usually play very well together.

No team is weak as long as they reached UCL. They all mocked Sheriff Tiraspol and boom they won another game against Shaktar who is a great team of Europe. Also , whoever thought that Milan will go in Liverpool just to get goals they were so wrong as Milan almost snatched a draw against a team who has the same players for 3 years now making very hard for any team to play against them.
Exactly. There's no more such thing as a weak team in the group stage. They got there either by winning their league or fighting off strong opposition in the qualifications, which is exactly how Sheriff made history for themselves. It's amazing for them, their fans, and a wake up call to giants to ask themselves if they are as good as they think they are.

after two match Lionel Messi still not make anything for PSG exactly on champion league when played draw with Club Brugge, without any one shot and not any assist made by Lionel Messi make many fans not happy with Leo performance for PSG, can he give more expectation on PSG or not.
I understand that fans prolly want an immediate impact from Lionel Messi, but imo, they must have to be patient with the Argentine, we are all aware of the quality he possesses, but we must also not forget that he spent almost all of his career in Barcelona, and PSG is more or less a new territory to him and he must have to adapt to how they play, I'm pretty sure Messi will have a successful spell for PSG, at least from am individual perspective.

The big question is whether so many superstars can play together without problems. In the last CL game, Neymar, Messi and Mbappe were on the pitch from the start for the first time and we all know how the game turned out. PSG was not really outstanding. Bruges had a good chance to even win the game. On paper, PSG should have dominated the game and won clearly. The next CL game is against ManCity. That will show how strong PSG really is.

PSG has a big problem due to the imbalance in the team.
Messi, Neymar and Mbappe simply do not play defense, so in the defense phase PSG always has three players less.
These three superstars just don't want to spend time and energy playing in defense but only play in attack.
Against weaker teams PSG can win with this handicap based on great individual player quality, but against stronger and better teams like Manchester CIty, PSG has no chance.
If the coach does not solve this problem and persuade his big stars to suppress their vanity and submit to the team, PSG will not win the Champions League again, regardless of bringing Messi.

I don't think that Mbappe's love for Real Madrid can interfere with a human relationship with Messi, especially if it results in a hidden or obvious dislike. For example, despite the constant competition between each other, Ronaldo and Messi speak quite respectfully about each other and I think they would have found mutual points of contact in the game if Ronaldo's transfer to Paris Saint-Germain had still taken place. A certain degree of sports anger and personal selfishness are usually useful in sports, but you should never overdo it, because these qualities can undermine the moral health of an athlete. Moreover, football is a team game, where the result depends to a large extent on interaction with partners.
The presence of Messi in the PSG squad will not make Mbappe position threatened, it will even increase Mbappe confidence to be able to play with big players like Messi. Since Messi wore the PSG shirt, it was the first time Mbappe and Messi played together against Club Burge in the UCL, so I don't think it can be said that Mbappe and Messi relationship is not good. The draw that PSG got when they faced Club Brugge was because their relationship was not well connected on the pitch, while off the field Messi and Mbappe look very close.

If Mbappe is not friendly and maintains the tendency to score goals alone, then Messi, Mbappe, and the PSG team will be under threat. Because at the moment the PSG team will rely more on Mbappe and Messi to score goals. So the bonding between Mbappe and Messi must be good. Lots of talented players on the team. PSG will get a better result from them if all the players have the mentality to help each other.

Mbappe now is like Neymar years ago when they feel they are one of best players on the world and want to compete with Messi and Ronaldo for the best position.

Neymar did it, left Barcelona and joined PSG. He failed to beat Messi and Ronaldo after the transfer to PSG and now he feels happy when playing with Messi again. Mbappe is different, not because he is more talented than Neymar. He has better opportunities to beat Messi and Ronaldo because they are older and older now.

If Mbappe can not wait, he has to leave PSG. Only he knows what he really want and it seems that he does not want to wait for 2 or 3 more seasons to become the best player.

Zenit defense was good during their first Champion League match against Chelsea and I thought the match will end draw, but unfortunately the Blues managed to score in the second half. Although, Chelsea dominated the match, but couldn't score in the first half, Lukaku scored in 69 minutes. And Chelsea achieved 3 points.
While Sheriff, been the first Moldovan National Division club to qualify and played in the Champion League group stage. And they won their first match which was against Shakhtar Donetsk. However, they are leading on their group table and will face Real Madrid in their next CL match, which will definitely be tough for them to win. They have to put in great effort in order to excel in the Champion League.

I think that the Chelsea - Zenit match was quite interesting as we watched only one goal in the whole match. Actually not only Chelsea but also Zenit are very capable of scoring easily. But Chelsea are much different with Tuchel now. Their defense is just superb I mean. They don't concede goals easily anymore and they are much better as for scoring goals after signing Lukaku too. A 1-0 victory wasn't very satisfying but they still won the match of course and that is the important part.

If relying on individual skills then it doesn't have to take time to adapt, it's about teamwork and chemistry.
True. PSG players have a problem with their teamwork and chemistry. They still cannot find a proper way to know each other very well. Although those players are skillful and experienced, they cannot play individually. Winning the match requires solidly among players, they mustn't focus on their own qualities. In this matter, I think the captain and the coach have the biggest role to find a way to create good chemistry among players. Also, to build good teamwork when they playing in the match.
They need a more deciplined manager to talk to this players, you can not play a team full of 11 stars, there must be a mixture of stars and normal good players who can do thee team work and not all about individual play. Poch is not tagg man, they need someone like Jose Mourinho with no fear factor

I think if PSG again have Neymar, Messi, Mbappe against Manchester City, then they will not have a chance, since they will not have a clear leader to oppose Guardiola's excellent built defense. Interestingly, in the first round of the Champions League, Cristiano Ronaldo, like Messi, calmed down his ambitions, while Manchester City won the 50th Champions League victory in just 91 matches. [Three matches slower than Real Madrid did] Grin

PSG team players are not friendly. Understanding among themselves is not good. They have done terribly in the previous match. They have relied entirely on Mbappe and Messi. They did not perform as a team. If the bonding between the players is not good, there will never be a good performance. The coach now has to adopt a new strategy. The opponent is Guardiola. It is important to remember Pocchetinno.

Yes, it is possible, and it is especially likely in elimination matches. In a long championship, when each team plays each team at home and away and the champion is determined by the number of points scored, the little poor teams, no matter how well they play, have no chance. In shorter tournaments and where there are elimination matches, small teams have a chance at the expense of greater randomness over short distances.

depends
what do you mean by a long championship or a short championship?
Is the premier league a short league?

I have seen poor teams win Europeans, as a premier league, of course it happens rarely .. but it happens

Of course, the Premier League refers to long championships - 38 games and this number is the same for any team, no one is eliminated until the very end. For comparison, in the Champions League, a team can play a maximum of 13 games. And if things went unsuccessfully, then after the first 6 games (group stage) the team can leave the tournament.
