Spanish sides love the Europa league trophy I won't be surprised if Villarreal turns the game against United tonight and clinch the title. They only have three players ( Cavani, Bruno and Greenwood) to try and shut down if they must stand any chance of winning. Bookies are making this game difficult to predict how do you place Villarreal on 5/1 in a cup final? Well, I'm going to bet on goals and booking points.

Villareal as the underdog for the bookies was expected, but the moneyline at 4 odds or villareal ahc 0 at 2.9 look good enough to place half unit. I went with the former. It's a final and villareal are there for a reason, they shouldn't be understimated. Emery looking to win another europa league, watch him pull a rabbit out of the hat and win the whole thing Grin

I also booked the ahc +0.5, this one's completely biased cos i want to back the only spanish team that reached an european final this season (:

finally, the btts at 1.9 is good value. The yellow submarine scored at least one goal in 19 out of their last 20 games in all comps. On the other hand, Man utd are a coin flip on the back, they've conceded a goal in 8 out of the last 10 games and in those 8 games the BTTS was correct. BOL!

@Luzin the key player for Manchester United will be Cavani because he’ll need to score those important goals for us, then I really hope Pogba brings his best game because he and Fernandes will be expected to open up Villarreal defence. Lastly I have decided to wager on Manchester United because of Cavani, and therefore I sincerely hope that Manchester United win the finale.

When I read some of the replies here, I see that many friends are optimistic that Manchester United will win. It is true that even though he is old, Cavani has successfully become a dreaded striker. But the Cavani war could not be separated from the goodness of their middle line.
Just look at Bruno, Pogba, they are given the freedom to play so they look good, as well as Rasford. If the villareal can turn off the above players they might surprise them. But I think it's hard.

I do not expect a surprise in today's match and I bet on the victory of Manchester United. I consider them a team a class better than Villarreal. It is true that I thought the same before the rivalry of the Spaniards with another English team, Arsenal in the semi-finals, but the Gunners are now also a much weaker team than the Red Devils

Bookies should be pushing this down then from all the sentiment I'm seeing, not that it's a surprise since I don't really know many Spanish supporters heh. I did get yellow submarine in at just a trickle over 5/1 so I'll be hoping for some niggly antics.

United are the classier, silkier team though for sure. Villareal have never won a major final. If United don't win this, it'll be a disastrous season considering the outlay.

They beat us (Liverpool in Europa 5 years ago) before we trashed them at Anfield, so we know the Spanish are capable of upsets!

Go Unai! =p

However, we shouldn't underestimate Villarreal, I mean they are not a weaker team, and are capable of winning against Manchester United.

You're right, villareal is a great team. Just look at some of the matches that have occurred, the villareal was able to draw against MU. The match this time may be the same even though I slightly favor MU to win. In Villareal's last match in LaLiga, they managed to make it difficult for Real Madrid to even lose before the draw.

Last year MU had a bad history in the European league, they also lost to the Spanish representative Sevilla. Maybe tomorrow is a revenge mission with MU but they have to be vigilant.

Keep Bruno Fernandez as key player for Manchester United because he success become greatest midfielder and playing very good with Paul Pogba. Tonight become most important match for Manchester United can defeat Villareal or not and Manchester United want to get their first trophy in this year, I think Edison Cavani will be starter player tonight and on midfielder have Pogba and Bruno Fernandez, nice to see who will be keeper De Gea or Henderson.

Its no surprise to me to have seen Villarreal advance to the EUFA Europa finals. They are one of the best teams in Spain even as a mid tier team and also did well in the Eufa Europa too. Arsenal were not much of a serious contender for the Eufa Europa this season, even there EPL performance were virtually poor. All that was needed for Arsenal was an away goal to bring the game to a Villarreal 2-2 Arsenal mean while, Arsenal would have had the away goal advantage but, they rather dragged the game to a goalless draw. Unfortunately for them, there won't be any Eufa Europa for them next season, too bad.

Villarreal surprised me, I must confess, that they made it to the final. Winning Arsenal in the semi- final and now in the final. Villarreal are unbeaten in the European competition this season, they have not lost any match in the Europe League this season, they have so far won 12 and drew 2 of their Europe League matches. And will be playing the final today against Manchester United, which is a strong team, winning won't be easy for Villarreal. However, we shouldn't underestimate Villarreal, I mean they are not a weaker team, and are capable of winning against Manchester United.

I really want Villarreal to win Europa league. I often like to support underdogs, United are big favorites, but I think it's not worth to understimate Villarreal too much. Especially considering it's single game. It's good team in good shape, they trashed Sevilla 4:0 recently and didn't played bad against Real. While MU - I still can't trust in this team, they're so inconsistent. They can humiliate Roma and don't even beat Fulham.
Fun fact - all 4 games between these teams ended 0:0. Though, it was long time ago.
Another fact - last 6 Europa League finals had average of 4 goals. Can we expect high scoring final again?
I agree with not underestimating Villarreal and that ManU is so inconsistant. However, Villarreal isn't also as consistent as ManU, both can perform quite good or show some miserable performances.
In Europa League, ManU wins big with 2 goals or more in many games while Villarreal wins with 1 goal difference generally. I believe there will be many goals scored mostly by ManU in this game and that Manchester will be reddish soon then blueish after Grin

In as much as I would have loved Villarreal to win the Europa League, I actually don't think they'll be able to pull off a win over Man Utd, all due respect to Villarreal and Unai Emery and what he represents in the Europa League over the past decade, I don't think any manager has more won it more than him in the last 10 years, but we must understand that Man Utd as well are having a spectacular season. Whichever team should win it, it wouldn't be undeserved.

If Manchester United have to face with Sevilla again, I think they will lose again. Sevilla are stronger than Manchester United and they are the King in Europa League.

This season, in the final match, the opponent of Manchester United is Villareal. I respect Villareal but I think Manchester United will win this match. Bruno Fernandez and especially Edinson Cavani will help them get the trophy.

Cavani is the best number 7 in Manchester United after Cristiano Ronaldo. He brought Manchester United to the final match with 4 goals in two legs of semi final.

Very interesting analysis made by UEFA on the teams that are in the final:

Quote
Why will they win?
Villarreal: The temptation is to talk about the flourishing strike partnership of Gerard Moreno and Paco Alcácer, but it's impossible to ignore the impact of coach Unai Emery. He was signed to take Villarreal to a final and look what he's done.

Manchester United: Last season's semi-final defeat by Sevilla hurt. United paid a heavy price for their profligacy – and are determined not to make the same mistakes this time as they look to end their longest run without a trophy since the 1980s.

Quote
Key man
Villarreal: Gerard Moreno – With six goals en route to the final, and (for the first time in his career) over 20 in the Liga, the 29-year-old Spanish international is in the form of his life. Sheer class in his finishing, he is brimming with confidence.

Manchester United: Bruno Fernandes – With nine goals and five assists in Europe this season, the creator-in-chief’s impact has been invaluable in the Red Devils' journey. The Portuguese has both scored and set up more goals than any other United player this term in all competitions.

United tomorrow looking for their first titles after the era of Jose Mourinho when they face Villarreal in the final of the Europal League, a very difficult match against Unai Emery, who specializes in this particular competition. Added in that there is more likely United will play with the absence of captain Harry Maguire, it will be a great loss for the English team,Man United still slightly have advantage to get the title as they have got more quality players in their squad and if We looked at the circumstances of the two teams in the recent period we see that both teams seems not in their best momentum.
So I'm going with United to win also I expect a low score game and the goal most likely will come from a header from Cavani he have been lucky with scoring quite many of them with United.
I am not sure that Villarreal specialize in this competition because even if I look at the past five seasons Villarreal does not enter the Finals, because the Spanish team that specializes in this competition is Sevilla. Also, Manchester United ended the season better in second place in the EPL and that is an important point to keep their morale and stamina high in tomorrow's final. Until now Manchester United remains the favorite so it adds confidence in me to bet on him, however Manchester United will win I am very confident for this final match will belong to Manchester red and blue.

The two teams are safe in their respective positions in the league, meaning that it is safe here that MU has entered the Champions League zone while their Villareal is in the Europa League zone, the second point will not be overtaken by the team below because only 1 league match remains. So I think it's natural that they would prepare their best players and rotate players for games in the league.

You are mistaken, with respect to Villarreal.
Villarreal still have the possibility of reaching sixth place and thus entering the Europa League, in the next season. For that they have to win and hope that Betis will lose.
The problem is that they will play against Real Madrid who also need to win, to try to win the championship. So it will be difficult for them to reach the sixth place that gives access to Europe.
We will see what the main objective will be. If you continue to fight for a place in the Europa League next season, or save all your strength for the final.

Villareal cant win in my opinion. So much team difference.

United head the Europa League outright betting at 8/15, with Villarreal at 7/2. Arsenal are third favourites at 4/1.

    Manchester United @ 8/15
    Villarreal @ 7/2
    Arsenal @ 4/1
    Roma @ 150/1

Smiley and these rates show the difference on teams Smiley

clearly anything can happen, but the percentages are very low in favor of Villareal
i hope only is a fun game

Which I find weird and unrealistic. Villareal has literally every chance in the world to win the trophy. Why wouldn't they? It's a single game, everyone will give their very best and not to forget the luck factor. Anything can happen.

Who would have thought that Villareal dominates the last round as hard as they did?

More than the predictions and the odds given by the betting companies, i think the only thing that will decide who the winner will be is the urge to win by the players. This isn't the first time a below average team will be World class players. Manchester United have been resting players because of the game and he's even likely to rest players on Premier League match day 38 because of the final europa game but all is still down to the player's hunger to win the cup.
