I looked at the UFC 300 card and I was a bit unimpressed to be honest. I really wanted to see Conor McGregor make a comeback but it looks now like that will never happen. I did toss a couple bets out there though even though I'm a bad UFC fan (a casual admittedly). I like Sterling and think he's going to win. Looks like the oddsmakers agree with me. I also don't think Holly Holm has enough left in the tank to beat Kayla Harrison. Holly is just too old now. She is a great fighter, but I think she's nearing the retirement age. I think at 42 years old, a 33 year old will probably clean her clock... That being said, I still want Tyson to beat Jake Paul so who knows...

I very much agree on your prediction. This Kayla Harrison's arms appear to be very strong to wrap Holly Holm with a stretcher and throw this outside of the octagon. Aljamain still has got a nasty jab even if he lost his belt to Suga Show not too long ago. He was just outclassed but Kattar just doesn't compete with the likes of Sterling.
Right @notblox1 the UFC wants their franchise to compete with the WWE stories they play.

Of course these fighters have lives just like anyone else but being a champion you have certain obligations to fulfill and if you can't meet those standards set by that organization then you are not fit to hold that title.
That seems to be a requirement of any sport.
Many of them have tough and problematic history before they became professional MMA fighters, and it is not easy for them to behave as a role model.That seems to be a requirement of any sport.
I can quickly remember bad things done by McGregor, Jorge Masvidal and other fighters, some of the them event spent time in prison.
And UFC just loves to play on card of bad guys vs good guys story.
Who else is their role model but Dana himself. But you know if you are a Jon and you are the goat and even if you don't train as long as you win. We'll just let it slide because Dana is still on his side.
I haven't seen the video that Jon is telling about where the tester and him shake hands and hug before leaving but if it's true I guess we'll just have to take it at its face value. He is the GOAT.

Don't care much to hear anything about Jon Jones if he is not fighting due to his past.
He is functionally a messed up individual and Dana White has said this when anyone asks him about when he is finally going to fight so to defend his title.

We need to have some great heavyweight fight in UFC soon.
Pereira vs Hill as UFC300 main event is not something I was excited to watch, but it could be important step for both of this fighters.
I am more interested in watching Prochazka and Rakic, both of them are coming back after serious injuries.

I get what you are saying in the main event is missing that something to make it great. But if it wasn't for the 300 in the name this would be an exceptional card regardless.
Those two fighters you mentioned are on the preliminary card yet Bo Nickal vs Cody Brundage are on the main card which doesn't seem right to most who have viewed the line-up.
Wanting to pump up a fighter's status by putting him ahead of those other fighters with so much more experience was seen as an error by the scheduling department.

It has been put on the Diamond's X feed but remember when that happened ahead of the Benoit Saint Denis fight.
Anyways, Islam Makhachev next opponent will be decided at UFC 300 then we will know when Dustin Poirier will fight him. Win or lose against Da Bronx or Arman Tsarukyan.

UFC Fight Night is just disappointing lol almost all is a decision. Sometimes I really think UFC is watching our bets and knows which one should win lol
The only heavyweight fight that I think should have a real KO is also a decision. Brzeski defeated Valter Walker which I never expected because Walker had a perfect zero loss, and lost against someone white with a stripe record, it doesn't add up. This Walker is half-brother of Johny Walker by the way.
3 KO/TKO, 2 came from the prelim 1 from the main card, and 1 submission at the prelim too. Who the heck watches preliminaries? Honestly, I rarely watch those.
Anyway, maybe we are just being prepared for the upcoming fight this week. UFC 300. I am so excited that I cannot wait for it to happen.

Started watching the vegas event from Charlie Campbell vs Trevor Peek.
So was disappointed that I missed Cesar Almeida's debut bout where he KO'd his opponent. Another kick boxer transitioning into MMA is always great to see what they can do in their first match up just like Alex Pereira did in his several years ago.
Also heard about Walker's loss in his debut and how Johnny wrote four tweets in a row about the scoring and how it was wrong:

Let's say Connor wins, he will rank once again, I think he only has 2 fights left for his contract. Whoever is his next fight he still has less chance of winning a fight anyone above him.
There was something I watched a few weeks ago while McGregor was doing interviews when his new movie was being released and Chandler seems washed up and only a peg at this point.
Just so McGregor has a step on his way back to the UFC win column nothing more.
Dana has said during one of his interviews recently that McGregor doesn't need the UFC as he has made as much money from them as he has with branding of Whiskey and whatever else he has his name attached too.
He just wants that next hit of being in the spotlight again.
@darkangel11 After Poirier lost to Gaethje the way he did I thought it was the start of his downward spiral. That was a brutal head kick, the same one that took out Usman. And look what happened to him. Well we don't hear much from him as he hasn't fought in over a year and a half.
So thought the same would happen to Dustin but luckily he got that win against Benoit St.Denis and now he is back on track. Atleast his name is coming up on who Conor should fight after Chandler.

It's actually funny that both McGregor and Chandler lost to Poirier and it was basically in a row because this happened year after year (2 wins against McGregor in 2021 and against Chandler in 2022) They both got hit by a train and are trying to see who's best.
To be honest they're both mediocre right now. Chandler lost all his significant fights (Poirier, Oliveira and Gaethie) and only managed to defeat washed out Ferguson, a guy with Autism, ADHD and some other stuff, who hasn't won a fight since 2019. McGregor spent his last few years partying and playing in movie. I expect a boring fight when none of them show anything spectacular. Nothing like the good old McGregor vs Diaz fights.

During the weigh-ins for UFC fight night 240 there were four fighters that missed weight and another bout cancelled between Cynthia Calvillo and Piera Rodriguez.
