Let us talk about the last event of the year for this UFC Fight Night in Tampa, shall we?

Did anybody see the media day yesterday with Colby Covington talking about every fighter recently?
It is quite amusing and is his arrogant attitude that stands out more than his fighting experience in the octagon that stands out more than not.
Colby Covington goes OFF - Trump is going to make America right again!

Man of the Hour messes everyone, he is a funny dude. He said he is the superstar in his current division. lol Fans know he was ducking Garry when the discussion about the fight floats and now he wants to fight Usman for the 3rd time while accusing Usman cheated him.  After this Buckley, they should set him up with Garry to see who's the superstar.

Of course, Khabib is Trump's fave fighter. Trump came on his fight against Edwards and was disappointed, the president exited the arena and didn't wait for his octagon interview.

Even though Shavkat Rakhmonov won against Machado Garry this past Saturday, UFC commentator Daniel Cormier revealed that Rakhmonov went into the fight with a serious injury.

“I learned after, that (Shavkat) fought with an injury. I think he tore his MCL going into that fight. With a torn ligament in your knee, you’re not going to look like the killer that you looked like in fights prior,” Cormier revealed in a video on his YouTube channel.

Explains the how he didnt look as good as he has before, but still won the fight  Shocked

With or without injury, the next opponent already knows which way to go to defeat him. Garry showed very well and if he had been calmer and had a little more skill he would have won, which I think is incredible. But let's wait and see, I'm looking forward to seeing the next fights.

But Garry showed the way for the next fighters who will face Shavkat. Garry showed that Shavkat can bleed! And he almost won.
You nailed the right word for it. If Shavkat wins the championship against Belal, I want to see Garry next in line for the defense of Shavkat. That will probably gain a lot of hype as Garry did show that he is almost on the same level as Shavkat after that performance in UFC 310. He just lacked that early heat and found out that he could use his kicks to gain the upper hand and notice his reach advantage.

Main Event:
C. Covington  vs.  J. Buckley
Co-Main Event:
Cub Swanson  vs.  B. Quarantillo
Main Card:
Manel Kape  vs.  Bruno Silva
Dustin Jacoby  vs.  Vitor Petrino
Daniel Marcos  vs.  Adrian Yanez
N. Stirling  vs.  Tuco Tokkos
Preliminaries:
M. Johnson  vs.  Ottman Azaitar
Drakkar Klose  vs.  Joel Alvarez
Sean Woodson  vs.  F. Padilla
Miles Johns  vs.  Felipe Lima
M. Maverick  vs.  J. Horth
Davey Grant  vs.  Ramon Taveras
P. Rodriguez  vs.  J. Knutsson

It's not much. I think I will just bet on the main event.
This is the last Fight Night of the year so many will be betting on this before the very long break until the next bout in the octagon happens next year.

Colby Covington will of course be hyping up his persona with a Trump win of the Presidency since he has always been a supporter and has wore a MAGA hat in the past. So this will be his first fight back in the octagon since that US election win last month.

The Manel Kape vs Bruno Gustavo da Silva fight will be one to watch out for as we all know Kape will be bring some fire with him as he always does during the press conference.
This should be a fun one to just sit back and relax too and not take as seriously from the last numbered card we just had on for the year.

Belal has a high chance of restaging what Garry did against Shavkat and might possibly win if he could even be behind Shav. Shavkaat has a hard time putting Garry down on the mat which Belal could surely do the same.

When Shavkat has 1 loss and Garry also has 1L, they will both deserve a second fight. Belal wouldn't have to know how he could defeat Shav if he jumped right in to defend his title. I guess he'd be more confident.

It was so much fun. It was the complete package, in my opinion.
Shavkat got away from a body triangle and won against Ian Garry. That dude was like a snake, Garry was locked on and yet he still got away from it. He won thanks to that and he avoided a rear naked choke.
Kai Asakura on the other hand cannot get away from the body triangle of Pantoja which results in his loss due to a rear naked choke. That spoiled his debut and he could not show his full strength as it ended quickly at round 2. Alex was right, this is different, this is UFC. It's a good learning point for Kai.
What fight do you guys think is the best of all? I think it was Shavkat versus Garry.
My parlay was wrecked due to the Garry bet but I can say I had fun watching Garry doing everything to win that match. He was underestimated with x4.00 if he wins but I think now they will see him differently.
Now we wait for Shavkat versus the champion Belal.
Shavkat versus Garry was the best fight for sure. I knew Shavkat would win from the beginning, due to the condition Garry arrived in for the fight.
But Garry showed the way for the next fighters who will face Shavkat. Garry showed that Shavkat can bleed! And he almost won.
There were some videos out of how Rakhmonov was fighting with an injury and still managed to pull out a win against a formitable opponent in Ian Garry.
He had a torn MCL prior to the bout in getting prepared for this fight.
Then there were some photos of xrays showing broken toes or fingers for Shavkat.
Now that is scary if he wasn't 100% going into this fight and took that much punishment and didn't submit when it looked very grim for him.

What a UFC event last night for the final numbered card of the year and it was a great one!
Shavkat Rakhmonov won but nearly got choked out in the final few minutes of the final round by Ian Garry.

The Japanese phenom didn't win on his debut in the UFC as many had already predicted exactly how it was going to play out.
Asakura was striking early on with those flying knees but the champion was not having any of that and just manhandled him until he subbed him in the second round.

Aljo lost his match up against an awesome looking Movsar Evloev.
He is prepared to go on to take his next opponent which he had already mentioned he wanted to face off against in the post fight interview:
Movsar Evloev Won't Beg Dana White for Title Shot, Will Keep Winning to '100-0' - Calls Out Ilia Topuria: 'I Need His Title'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvTJJcC3d24

It's only at the last minute that Rakhmonov escaped that tight triangle on his body. The welterweight division needs more of those grapplers other than Rakhmonov.

It's too early for Evloev to have a title shot. I doubt he could handle Topuria since he is not a finisher, but yeah, he can wrestle. Surprised to know he has a programming and law degree, he does have an option besides fighting but he is currently enjoying the trips.

I just realized while watching the match that Chris Weidman was also there in the preliminaries. I am watching him now having a hard time against Anders. That's also a former champion who fought against Anderson Silva but sadly, Silva was injured in that fight and it was one of the unforgettable injuries in UFC.
Anyway, you are definitely correct that this card was stacked with some great players and we will probably be entertained from the preliminaries until the end.
Don't forget to place your bets. I did forget it and I am placing them just now. Grin

Edit: And Weidman lost, ref stopped it.

Watched the weigh-ins and it seems that Brian Battle missed weight by alot. So there might only be 13 fights instead of the 14 that were originally scheduled for this UFC 310.

Still waiting on the Ceremonial weigh-ins which start right now live so to see if they will still have this fight go forward.

Here is my betslip for this event and it should be simply epic to be betting on:

100% FInish rate. Garry prevented a loss against MVP means he is really good though. They should have made Garry vs Shav the main event instead.

^^

I understand, I imagined that. Someone from the UFC wanting to send him a message for having done something. But it really is something that can be punished, a fight is a fight regardless of who it is, they are there to make money, not to make friends.

It didn't just start when Aljo refused to fight Merab. I think everyone was disappointed when Aljo did his best acting performance when Petr Yan threw a knee. The fight was great but all because of his act ended with him being declared as winner disqualifying Yan. Dana was also furious about it.

The fighter who was complaining about being on the Preliminary card instead of the Main card was Aljamain Sterling.
As you can see other fighters on the main card that were never champions such as Bryce Mitchell & Nate Landwehr.
So why was he debased as formerly holding a title belt in the last few years? His opponent is no slouch either.
This all came about with the Merab situation when Aljo was fighting Suga Show and had always refused to fight Merab since they were friends.
Dana White absolutely hates this when it comes to match making these fights and does not want them to be dictating to him who they won't fight. That can cost him in the future.
Just look at the Jon Jones situation right now with fighting Aspinall. He doesn't want to be losing any potential money when it comes to this sort of match making while these fighters are still able to perform in the octagon and not on the brink of announcing retirement. Just like Jon Jones has alluded to and probably a strategic move from his camp so to get what he is asking for in a salary for this super fight.

Back to the event that is on tap for this weekend now, shall we? Grin

Yeah, at first glance, before I shared the cards, I was confused at why some players are in the main card while others are in the prelims. I don't know if Dana White rushed things but I guess we will just have to live with it.

We are almost there. Next will be the weigh-ins and ceremonial weigh-ins. Then, It'ssss Timeee!
Truly, this UFC 310 is hyped because of the roster and in the past events I will just watch the co-main event and the main event, but here at 310, you will have to watch in the prelims. Aljamain Sterling is there, that's a champion in the prelims.  Grin

To be pushed to the preliminary card, he did something. Maybe his fans aren't enough to support him on the main card, or maybe due to the losses and statements he made, they pushed him to this preliminary card.

But someone from the UFC wants to leave a message for him with this fight on the preliminary card.
