Lightning network is good with small amount of BTC

There is Ton on Unstoppable wallet but its tokens like USDT and others are not yet there. I do not want to use wallet like Trustwallet for it because it is close source.
Sadly, sometimes you need to compromise if you want to store altcoins or their worse half - shitcoins. If there is no support in open-source and trusted wallets, you are left with holding your alts in an exchange (a bad solution) or compromising and using a closed-source non-custodial wallet (a slightly less bad solution). If I had to make that decision, I would pick the latter.
That is true but Unstoppable wallet is supporting many blockchains. It is supporting Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Binance Beacon Chain, Solana, Polygon, Avalanche, Tron, Optimism, Arbitrum, Fantom and Gnosis. Those chains have their own tokens which are many. I think they will soon support Ton soon.

I am not dealing with the altcoins, I use those chains for USDT or USDC. USDT on many exchanges have $0 fee which is the reason I want to use it in addition to other chains that I have already. Optimism is low in fee on exchanges, I will still be using it for frequent transactions.

Unstoppable has been a very good wallet but I want to use USDT on Ton blockchain with it which I did not see. I went to blockchain to see if I can import the token but Ton is not among the blockchains listed. There is Ton on Unstoppable wallet but its tokens like USDT and others are not yet there. I have a little query about the upgrade of the Matic token to POL related the Unstoppable wallet. Since I am holding the Matic tokens here, i would like to know if there is any special instructions for us or it will be automatically converted into POL token. The process of conversion has been started as stated here The POL token upgrade is now live on Ethereum mainnet and i still see my Matic token in my wallet (not updated to POL yet). Are there any manual steps for us to do ?

I'm not sure if you have solved this or not yet. But in case you didn't, if you had the tokens sitting on Polygon POS chain, then there is nothing that you need to do. It's done automatically.

If you had your funds on either Polygon zkEVM or Ethereum's ERC20 then you need to migrate. I believe they have a bridge to do so.

If you're in the first category, and you see "MATIC" still, then I would imagine that's because Unstoppable wallet hasn't made the "update" to the token's name. But this is just a guess.

I have no idea how that crap token transition works, but you can go in settings of your wallet, and than select Recovery Phrase and Private Keys.
Write that keys on piece of paper (don't show them in public to anyone) and import in some other wallet that support your token.
For more information and help better contact Unstappable wallet support.

Quote
EVM Private Key
This key allows importing EVM-based cryptocurrencies (Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain etc) from Unstoppable to any other standard compliant wallet app. In other words, someone with a multi coin wallet that has ETH, BTC, BNB on it can use that key to restore access to ETH, BNB on some other wallet that doesn’t support Bitcoin i.e. Metamask browser based wallet.

The EVM Private Key shouldn't be shared publicly. Someone with an access to this EVM private key can take over management of cryptocurrencies that are based on EVM type blockchains i.e. Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon etc.

It won't provide access to Bitcoin or other non-EVM cryptocurrencies that reside within the same multi-coin wallet on Unstoppable.

Even better: learn how to use offline signing. Learn how to do this from a Linux LIVE DVD, and if you do it right, your private keys will never touch the internet.

The only method i know about about offline bitcoin signing is the use of Electrum wallet with tails OS. ( How to Install Tails OS on USB flash drive for Wallet Purpose) and it works perfectly for me. For bitcoin storage, this method is as good as having a hardware wallet.

Is there any other method too ? What is the Linix Live DVD  ?

if you do not have a hardware wallet better to store bitcoin in bitcoin-only open source software wallet like Electrum

What do you mean by the wallet to be numbered  Huh
I think he is trying to say that there are multiple security considerations when choosing a bitcoin wallet. If you use a bitcoin-only wallet, then you know you are dealing with a piece of software where the developers are only focusing on one coin and securing that coin. There are many more features, coin support, and code in multicoin wallets. The developers must focus on much more. One serious mistake could be enough for a skilled adversary to cause a lot of harm to a lot of people. Since there is so much more coding in multicoin wallets, the chances are greater to overlook something.

For bitcoin, it is always advised to use a bitcoin wallet and never store bitcoin in a multi-coin wallet. Apart from the security point of view, I just keep my precious Bitcoin away from the junk alt-coins  Wink and that is how it should be.
The safety factor in choosing a wallet to store bitcoin must be numbered. Yes. Multi coin is not the recommended option to store bitcoin because one and more factors are considered, even though they have to use a software wallet to store bitcoin, at least a special bitcoin wallet.

I know many people will say to use a hardware wallet to store bitcoins (which is recommended too) but if you do not have a hardware wallet better to store bitcoin in bitcoin-only open source software wallet like Electrum and use Unstoppable wallet only for the altcoins.

If a wallet is secured and as well as open source, but then it is a bitcoin alone wallet. Is it correct to rate the wallet as more secured than a multicoin decentralized wallet like Unstoppable? If yes, does the presence of altcoins in any way weaken the security architecture of a wallet?
Think of it this way. The more coin support, code, and features a wallet has, the more potential that something can malfunction, have bugs, or be abused because of oversight from the developers. It's not necessarily less secure, but the extra options could present new threats.

Another comparison. Think of any piece of machinery with 3 buttons on it. One, two, or all three of those buttons activating certain functions could break. Now think of a machine with 10 buttons. You now have more potential problems and more functions that can stop working one day.

Unstoppable wallet can be one of the best for the altcoin storage but I will never use it to store bitcoin in it.

Using an unstoppable wallet to store bitcoin is also not bad but there are other considerations to be avoided because it is not good multi-coin wallet considering there is a special Bitcoin wallet that is open source and has been proven like an electrum.
The question is not if it's good or bad to store bitcoin in Unstoppable Wallet. It's about the fact that you don't need a multicoin wallet for bitcoin when we have a decent amount of quality standalone bitcoin wallets. The "don't put all your eggs in one basket" applies to this scenario as well. Keep your bitcoin separate from your altcoins and especially the shitcoins. Unstoppable Wallet is a good open-source solution for altcoins because the industry lacks such software. Most of the alternatives are closed-source.

[..] but as an whole i recommened unstoppable wallet for stroing altcoins (if you can't afford the hardware wallet).

Yes... As an open source multi-coin wallet, it is not wrong if we recommend people to use unstoppable as a wallet to store altcoin (if the ability to buy hardware wallets) rather than using other wallets that are not open sources even though they are familiar For them out there.

I just have send to my Unstoppable Wallet (iphone; all updates - phone and wallet) a bit of a Bitcoin.
Blockstream telling me all is fine.
Yet the wallet shows non - in fact all the time „synchronizing“ ist at 0%.
Any ideas and tipps?
Unstoppable Wallet was very slow with synchronization back when I tested it as well. It's a known "feature". I can't really call it a bug. As long as you sent your coins to the right address and paid enough for a timely confirmation, you have nothing to worry about. And even if you never get your Unstoppable Wallet to work, so what!? It's non-custodial software, and you can import your seed in other clients.  Wink

I have been using Unstoppable wallet for quite sometime now and even with these sync probelms, i still trust this wallet because its open source and reliable. Also with every upgrade this wallet is becoming better and more convienent to use.

Also it never happens that our wallet does not work all the time, if it is, then there may be some issue with the individival person but as an whole i recommened unstoppable wallet for stroing altcoins (if you can't afford the hardware wallet).
