It connects to seed, then you get socket recv error 10054 while downloading blocks.

It means, either your PC or ISP modem/router blocking it.

if you google "socket recv error 10054", it is not a virtual coin wallet issue, but something on your PC.

Try this. Not sure if it will work for you but it did for me.  Run your old wallet. Let it sync and catch up, once it's done. Close it and run the 11.3.1 and leave it open for a while. It took me about half an hour to an hour to sync.  Hope that works for you. 

yes, you are right, it is still NOT recommended to add, but it is a last resort. Never add it to virtualcoin.conf file.

peers are pushed out automatically using SuperDNS seeds, but they must be using 2095 port.

Been well over an hour now, and it hasn't budged.
Definitely a problem with this wallet or config.
I'm beyond aggravated with this at this point.

Crazy how there's only around 700MH/s total on all the pools but yet a Net Hashrate of 2.3GH/s.  So there's 1.6GH/s solomining Virtual Coin.

Well, it all started with a transfer to bittrex from my old wallet, which never arrived after an hour.
Then I upgraded wallet, did another test transfer to bittrex from upgraded wallet and a test transfer from bittrex to my wallet...nothing arrived even then either direction.
Wiped out the wallet completely (except wallet backup file),installed fresh per DEV's instructions awhile back.
Now I cannot even sync wallet at all.
And no transactions shown up at bittrex yet even, and been almost two hours.
Getting extremely aggravated.  
 
PS - I am a long time miner and supporter or VirtualCoin, and not a n00b. Never had issue like this with a wallet before, and I've installed hundreds.

I had to wait a few minutes for peers to appear. How long have you waited?

I was under impression from prior posts that nodes no longer needed to be manually added.
Regardless, I did that and nothing is changing.
I completely turned off my firewall as well, to make sure I was not the problem.

I never had these issues with prior versions of the wallet....been using them for months

Sorry, don't know since I haven't transferred any to Bittrex.  Did you use the 11.3.1 wallet to make the transfer?  Try opening a support ticket on Bittrex to see if they have an answer.  Good luck.

How long do transfers take from wallet to Bittrex?
I sent some VC to Bittrex about 30 minutes ago, and still no confirmations at all.
Without block explorer I cannot see what is going on!

Well nothing new, most bitcoin related software are sometimes listed as false positive.

If you are paranoid, just build your own windows wallet from github source.
