Earlier bounties and airdrops were pretty all tokens were awarded after work was completed and listed on an exchange. Currently their value has decreased a lot. For online holding if the value of the coin is low then you will not get the profit from selling that coin so you have to wait until it is listed on the exchange. Even if the price goes up a bit you have to sell it because once the altcoin coins go down it takes a long time to rise.

low value, meaning it is already listed on an exchange and has a very low price. I sell it more often because most of the altcoin prices obtained from bounties or airdrops will decrease over time. However if the altcoin obtained has not been registered on the exchange, there is no other choice but to hold.
I think OP was talking about ElonCoin of which's signature campaign he's participating. he was asking about that.
I too agree with you that these bounty and airdrop tokens are not worth to be hold for long term. but if they are not listed in any exchanges then there is not any choice.
as soon as they get listed sell them and take your money out.
but there was some bounty and airdrop coins which gained a lot of value after exchange listing because those projects were really good. u can consider that factor too.

I like to treat everyone as a friend 🔹
The altcoin campaign basically pays out after the project is over, but it's not worthless, rather it's not possible to increase in value. The project owner mainly promotes his coin to increase its price, not to make it worthless. But when users distribute those promotional rewards and later trade them, the market is dumping the coin's value a bit. However, there is a possibility that the value of those coins will increase again later, and they will increase but not one will be worthless.

In my opinion the choice of what to do with altcoins you get from signature campaigns depends on a few things. First you should think about how good the altcoin is and search about these questions. Is it supported by a strong project or technology...? Does it have a team that works hard on it...? These things can help about the altcoin might become valuable in the future.
Secondly it's important to think about the general situation in the market. It can effect on the price of the coin.Like you can see when the market is in good condition now so many projects are launching and giving airdrops.
Additionally you should see how long the campaign will take time and the rules of the signature campaign. If the campaign is not long lasting so it is showing that the team is not investing and not sincere with the project.

Generally I don't think that altcoin holding can bring some good profit and if the questions about altcoin which gives from the new token of new project is very less chances to see the face of profit. I think it will be much better to sell the coin after getting the payment if the coin is listed on any exchanger. So I wanna say don't waste your fund and time on those altcions.

Well, this statement is not 100% true. I know I got some airdrop of the coins and I sold them immediately after being listed on the exchanges but later those coins performed well and were valued more than my selling price. But not all coins behave like this. Some coins get listed on exchanges and keep on dump. It depends upon the team as well. If the coin is created keeping a long term perspective, they will lock the lock in order to prevent such situations but mostly the project owners are scammers who will just dump the coin to gain the profits and move on.

For those of us that are into altcoin signature campaign and have accumulate some in your wallet, what do you do with it since some of them has low value at the moment if you check their current price?

Do you keep holding it hoping that the price will finally come up since it seems you can't actually trade it with it current value.

Will the altcoin become valueless after the campaign is over or could still gain value after some years.

It's said that he that is down fears no fall, so if your altcoin is dumped already then what worse can happen, especially if it has fallen below your purchasing price, what is remaining is either it dumps lower or eventually starts to pump. Besides it is better to buy when there is a price dip, because the probability is that it can start to pump, so hopefully as most altcoins are appreciating because of the coming Bitcoin bull run, the altcoin you're holding will join the bandwagon.

if I join the bounty campaign if after the price distribution is still above ico I immediately sell everything. wait for the coin price to drop to the lowest point and then buy back again if the coin and the volume of coin transactions are good.

Holding most coin from bounty campaign does work for me at all. I have received some alt from bounty which I hold but later turn to dust in my wallet. So, since then I do sell any token receive from bounty instantly. I observed only few token from bounty do well in this space.
Not just most of the time but always, when the distribution of rewards happens, it dumps after because all participants are in a hurry and dumping their tokens as they are aware that the next thing happens the value of their tokens will turn $0. Not just panic selling but they are in the race not to get caught from low value after a couple of days of release.

If we think holding them is the best option, we are only wasting our time for them because these shitcoins can no longer be valuable in the future .

Based on my experience better to dump it after you receive it, 90% of the coins I've received coming from the bounty in the last three years lose their value and become a shitcoin, there's no hope for altcoins now, it's more than a gambling investing in trending and meme coins right now, Pepe and Shiba Inu is a long shot something many of us did not expect to get the hype.

I'm glad that I'm out promoting these altcoins, these new altcoins do not have a use case they follow the trend and they pay hunters to hype it, in the last two years so many investors have lost interest in investing, in the next three years there will be no altcoins that's going to launch, unless there's a lot of big names behind that project.

I will sometime check the market to see how the alt coin is actually doing. If I see a decent profit by selling it, I will surely take it. If not then there's no harm to hold it. Currently, I am in Elon coin signature camping and they are giving me some tokens every week as a bonus for my work. I didn't even check the wallet to see if the transactions have really made it through. But one day I will check it for sure. If I see potential profit from my holdings, maybe I will sell or keep them for later.

Not just only with signature payment, with any other coins out there, it is good to keep an eye on them. You never know when it will pump given the fact that it is low value. But when it do, I will make sure to take my share of profit for sure.

Holding won't be the best option if that altcoin has become irrelevant to the current market conditions or the development team moves to another project. In the altcoin industry a project with no development is considered a dead project. An altcoin needs to be active on their social media and they need to be transparent about their development. This will get user attention and their will be price appreciation as well. So it will be better to sell off a dead project no matter what the value is.

Holding a dead project makes no sense at all. A dead project can hardly see the light of the space anymore. Just like you have said, it advisable to sell it off and get some new ones with a nice developing team. No one knows, you may later re-gain your lose from those new ones.
Invest what you can afford to lose. If I invest thinking that it will do some good in the future, why not see it till the end? Although it is good to always grab the opportunity to take profit from your investment. But if you feel like your target is not going to be filled, why sell? Imagine you invest 100 dollars in a project and after someday it becomes 50 dollars. Will you sell? Or you will wait to see if it will go up again? I will wait to see whether it will go up or not. Because it's an amount that I can afford to lose.

With a dead project? Why sell when the fee is bigger than what you will get after selling? I just left them in my wallet. The amount I will get is like 2 dollars. Why should I pay 1.5 dollars on fee?

Yes selling of coins which you have received from bounties is a good step because as more people sell these tokens the price of it gets reduces and there are large number of other participants in bounties too that prefer to sell these tokens on time and when you failed to sell immediately then you will face trouble in selling it. If the price is too low that it cannot give you some money then hold it because now there is no other choice with you. Many people hold coins for longer time but there is a 20% chance that these tokens will grow in future but 80% possibility exists for declination in price which suggests that the chances of losing more value in future is greater than its growth.

If the price is very low at the moment then you have no choice but to hold and hope the value will increase in the future. However, keep in mind that this depends on the project because even you keep holding (since selling won't give you profit) there's no assurance the price will bounce back. Unfortunately this is the risk of being paid in alts because chances are the coin has low value or worst turn as a dead project.

Investing in low market capitalization projects could be a good idea especially when the team has plan of sending the project to theoon with consistent marketing keeping the awareness to the entire cryptocurrency sphere. When one see a project that is going to do well in the market, sometimes it could be easy to know especially when we check the community and do some findings about the project.
Low market cap coin investment might be a big opportunity when the project finally explodes.

What I got from the altcoin signature campaign, I would never try to hold on to if there was an environment to sell it. Because most altcoins from altcoin signature campaigns tend to drop in price over time and eventually settle down to 0. I don't think it's safe to hold coins from signature campaigns. Because the price of all the coins from the campaign drops to zero, those coins are rarely seen to do any good. I have many coins from the altcoin signature campaign that have dropped to zero in price. I'm not sure how much those altcoin prices can go up in the future.

And coins that have no value at all or are not worth selling. There is no chance to get any money by selling all those coins.  So I am forced to hold the coins.

well it could be also having low value due to being listed in dex in which most of the new altcoins are always getting listed there if they don't have partnership with the big exchange, usually onwards they would just lost the value overtime because the trading volume would also decrease, so if there's news that the altcoin gonna get listed in an exchange then it is a good news and definitely worthy of hold otherwise it will be wasting time.
usually i would just liquidate all and then convert it to bitcoin or ethereum, i just think that its better to hold these coin for long term because the prospect is almost obvious.
meanwhile i would rarely hold altcoin for too long other than the ones that are just fundamentally proven to be good and also have utility like being a smart contract that definitely would attract some demand, if its just some random altcoin without clear utility i think its not good to holds.

You won’t be so sure if they will increase value or lose value along the road that’s why they say cryptocurrency is risky, you just have to take a risk and hold your assets for a while and see where the market takes you.

Altcoins are really not reliable and holding them can prove to be a total waste of time, i have never participated in any bounty or being paid in altcoins but if i were to be paid a worthless coin I would rather hold for a while and see how they do in future. Of course not all will yield profit, some will become worthless token and abandoned projects and some will bring you some profit so i think it is worth holding rather than selling at really low price. The bull run is around the corner so some coins will move positively when the bull run arrives.

Crypto space is a risky world and there is a saying that risk takers gain the most in crypto space.
