Yeah, but, do they really want to be responsible for electing someone like Trump for President of the United States? Some of them, yes, but most people use their head, fortunately. Even if they are Republicans, even if they used to support Trump in the past, thay are not going to support him now.

Donald Trump was already elected president of the US one time. That clearly means that it can happen again, easily.

The US is a very divided country, and this election can really go either way.

The difference is that before 2016 Donald Trump was a businessman and reality show star whose only work was to play golf and watch over his businesses.

Today Donald Trump is a defendant and disgrace for half the country and to many he is a threat to the American democracy.

While it is true he still have much of a chance to become president again,  many within the Republican base (the moderate republicans) have turned their face to independent candidates or will simply not vote in the incoming election.

All this
political situation there is very unprecedented.

The question was who wants to bet on the elections. I would like to say that I don’t. This is not a roulette. This is not sport. This is not about any game. This is like bet on nuclear button. Literally. Because USA is a nuclear power. People speculating on the elections make a kind of show around them. Elections are not a show. Elections are about someone’s future.
It has become a culture in several countries with a presidential system of government when there is an election, many people will bet on it.
If you say elections are not roulette or sports, that's true, but in betting, it's not just a game or a sports match.
Maybe you still need to have knowledge about the meaning of betting.

Election winners are determined from the votes cast by the people of a country and some people use elections to support the candidate for the leader they choose and use it to generate profits such as betting.
Also, we are just betting on it, it is not like we are voting. I am not American so I am not voting anyway, by betting on this how could I hurt anything? I understand the notion that this is a serious thing and it should not be a joking matter but I am not joking about it, I am betting on it.

Just the other day one of the candidates called the other candidate a dumb son of... and we shouldn't bet? Hell if candidates take it "that" seriously, then I might as well have fun with it as well, I am not the one who should be taking it seriously. If they are that dumb, then me gambling will not change anything. It just doesn't have any consequences, I can bet as much as I want and nothing will come out of that no way.

Betting on elections had been done over and over in the past. Political discussions at the local level can sometimes result in verbal fights and I have been to it before with my brother which includes betting on our president. He lost as I always pick the populist regardless of what its plan.

This is not very different to sports in my opinion since you can see there are polls and those who participated in polls and surveys are like betting on who will be the president.

Yes, things are indeed like that, it is that now in this very particular case, we have two very strong contenders, one is a current president who I see has not done anything wrong, but in the USA things are very good. I would like to live in the USA to give my opinion because I believe that the people who live in the USA are the only ones who can express their opinion with great mastery, however I have seen the news, I have seen articles, I have seen many things that have been done to trump, and the truth is, I don't know if they are political traps by people with power who don't want trump to arrive as a candidate, but it's obvious that they want to get him out of the way.

There have been accusations made through women of sexual abuse, something like that, then a mistake that Trump made of having taken the classified files for nuclear purposes, all of that has now been taken from him and they have him in a big mess, this now provokes different reactions Around the world, the first reaction may be to support being left in prison since they are the private property of a nation, or to gain more support from the people because you are being attacked by the elite, so these things are the ones that have to think and That is why I insist, it would be excellent for the people of the USA to express their opinion, because they are the people who are there living day to day, and seeing how they can defend themselves in the country now, I know that the United States. The United States has been making a lot of changes, and I don't know if that's good or bad or if the changes are classified as good or bad.

I don't know how much these things have advanced against Trump, but what I think is that they are Moves of the same policy and they are things that do not seem to me, because Politics in the USA is becoming very power-hungry and that is worrying, I had never I have seen these politicians act like this, if all this that they have done to Trump is due to political traps to disable him, I do not consider it correct, I see it as a lack of respect towards a country that has needs and that obviously wants to continue having a great future .

Yes, with 500 to 1 I would place a $1 bet on Trump, for sure. Other than that, like 3.05 as it is now on most sites, no way. I think that the reason for so many people betting on Trump around the world is their local propaganda saying to them that "Biden is very unpopular" and stuff like that. They will lose their bets and they can thank their telly for that.

I don't think it will ever get to 500 to 1, I reckon about half of the voting people in the US are going to go for Trump. It seems like he has a massive following, at least similar to when he won.

In a way the whole prosecution against him kinda makes it more interesting for people, it's like a nice story that people want to be a part of.

~

~ Well, things are currently Getting tough for Trump because the Classified and Nuclear files have put him in a very bad position, and this has made him Waste time dating and Different social media outlets are not Making him look very Well, I don't really know how biased the USA is towards those who have always Supported Trump, I don't know if his same political enemies are doing him harm or a favor on a political level, I don't know if this is so, in South America politics tends to be a bit more frontier and things are said at once, they are not so rollicking, but I see that politics in the USA is managed through a lot of power, accusation systems in court, demands that act at once to prosecute, of many things that can put anyone in trouble.
~

Exactly. People watch TV, they following the news, don't they. His indictment contains four counts: "conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights."  Who wants to have such a president?

As you all will say that Still there is almost 1 and half year away for USA elections but still I want to highlight this option because here there will be almost in millions of bets that people will do and also that's based on speculations and also someone's interest.
I think that this could be one of the biggest Bets we can see because a whole world Knows america and it's superpower and it's has international recognization because of it's influence to the whole world.
So what are your speculations over this USA elections. And I know that everybody has their own speculations and also wins and also loose. So let's see what will happen?
As a big and developed country in America, it is natural that many people will bet on the election of this country, but the person who will bet on any election will be the one who has good knowledge about politics. Politics is not a simple matter we can easily consider a team as a prospect at sportsbet but politics is completely different it is not understood by everyone so I don't think any ordinary gambler would agree to bet on this.  But those who understand the politics involved in politics will agree to bet on this case, and many will

It looks as if Biden is regaining some of the lost ground. Two presidential polls were released this week. In the first one, from NY Times/Siena, Biden and Trump are tied at 43 points apiece. The second one (by Morning Consult) actually puts Biden ahead by 3 points (44 vs 41). DeSantis is well behind and is trailing Biden by 6 points in the poll from Morning Consult. It is still too early to make the predictions though. More than a year remain for the next POTUS elections, and the numbers can change wildly before the election day.

The military rule Venezuela, any idea of fair elections seems remote to me.  So far as I know the elected official for that country is via the parliament system but thats constitutional law for that particular country and its in dispute currently with the people holding the guns determining who is in power (not any court legal process etc.).   There's no chance of a bet because its a pre determined outcome.    I didnt see anything much proven in USA, theres always some small amount because of recent deaths and votes used wrongly etc.

Balance of play altering in nomination process for Republican candidate if we follow that money is quite essential for success.  Usually theres alot spent on advertising with money a big requirement.  I read recently the DeSantis campaign had used up all resources so was just drifting which wont leave them with much chance across an entire country.  Support shifting over to that campaign away from Trump is big news if true:
Quote
The billionaire DeVos family, whose matriarch, Betsy DeVos, served in Donald Trump’s Cabinet, appears to be backing a Trump rival in the 2024 Republican presidential contest: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

In late June, the pro-DeSantis super PAC Never Back Down recorded a $50,000 donation from NBA franchise the Orlando Magic, according to a recent campaign filing.

A spokesman for the Magic would not say who authorized the donation and initially declined to comment.

It makes sense De Santis is running out of money to run his campaign in an effective way, I have read that lately he has been cutting expenses and firing part of his campaign staff.

On the other hand, Trump, even though he has a lot of money and much of the supporters are eager to donate to him, he has had to pay millions on legal fees lately. For now, Trump has more resources to run against De Santis and not otherwise.

It seems we are going to see a Trump vs. (Some democrat) in 2024.

The US election is at stake by many people outside of US citizenship so from here we can see that the US election attracts gamblers to participate in a bet even though they do not participate or do not have the right to vote.
Maybe later when the election is near more people will risk their money for the US election.

Actually an election candidate should not say that because it can create a controversy and might damage his image as an election candidate in a country.
But things like that naturally happen to be able to take down his opponent.

Interestingly enough, there are countries which have a presidential system of government and yet the people is not very willing to bet on presidential elections. For example, because of the unfair democratic system some countries like Venezuela have, there is not much hope the current regime would lose in an actually democratic election. So people don't even bother to predict what is going to happen.

People bet on USA elections because two main reasons: USA is obviously very relevant around the world and their elections are thought to be fair (even though they are not direct elections).

Do you believe that the socialist party would lose if the elections are held in a free and fair manner? Venezuela is a typical Latin American country, where left-wing parties have garnered votes by offering freebies and subsidies to the general population. The current trend is also towards the left-wing parties. Even in the neighboring Brazil, recently Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was elected as the president ahead of conservative politician Jair Bolsonaro. In fact I would say that this is the trend that I am witnessing all around the world.

I beg to differ. Venezuela is not a typical country where expected things happen or are supposed to happen. Brazil under Bolsonaro's or Lula's administration are both more typical of a normal country in comparison to Venezuela.

The corruption here is very widespread and even though the ruling party talks about socialism and social protection for all of us, the true is they are pretty much responsible for all this dire situation we have gone through for years. Of course, the sanctions do not help either, but even sanctioned countries like Iran and Cuba have better life quality than us.

Also, let us not derail this thread too much.

That's true, but the public should be able to take advantage of it by finding opponents to bet with fellow supporters on other election member candidates so that way he can get bets easily with betting agreements that are made by themselves and agreed by both parties.
It's just that usually the fear that is experienced is that when you win, your opponent doesn't want to pay the bet money because he has the emotion of choosing to lose plus having to lose some money.

Yes, for the US election, I think it can still be trusted and it takes place fairly and every bettor doesn't need to worry about manipulation when the election takes place later.
After all, betting on the US election has been going on for a long time and it has become a habit for people there to bet when there is an election.

Yes Biden from the series of challenging events that have characterised the Biden's administration in the international arena since it came to power depicts how unpopular Biden is in the literally sense of it. Trump's prosecutions explains very well how much of a threat he is to Biden in the 2024 USA election and that's why they want him out of the race by all means.  Majority of both Americans and none Americans would always bet and  vote for Trump as they see him as one that walks the talk during his time as American president both home and abroad.

Even if Trump was in prison, he could still be elected president though. So, not sure about that reasoning since it doesn't block him from getting what he wants. If anything, that kinda presents a story that many people would want to be a part of by voting.

We're living in strange times, and anything can happen really.

Elections are about the future of millions of people, yes. But that won't stop people from betting on it. Hell, if you think betting on politics is low then you should read about some very morbid cases where nurses and doctors of certain hospitals reached the point of betting on who of their patients would die first or survive the longest, under their own care.

Very despicable and disgusting. In comparison, betting on Trump or Biden seems like an innocent thing to do.
