Both Bitcoin and Ethereum represent cryptocurrencies. Their quality directly affects the encryption market. I think they are all winners, because investing in them is a profitable thing.
I do not know how Ethereum can overtake Bitcoin now. Eth falls even faster when the whole market falls. This year has not yet ended and anything can happen, but I'm sure that Bitcoin will remain top 1. Next year if Eth starts a more rapid development then it will have chances.
I suppose that bitcoin will maintain its position this year, as people tend more to believe in its growth plus this year there is a growing competition between eth and new projects like NEO and EOS.
I am sure that someday bitcoin will be replaced by ETH, this is because usage and volume of ETH transactions continue to increase rather than bitcoin so that the price of ETH continues to be expensive, and the main factor supporting is more than 100 tokens that use the ETH platform.
I think Bitcoin will win this year because it still has the first movers advantage, without Bitcoin there would had been no Ethereum. Bitcoin created the markets and platform for Ethereum to develop and thrive in.
I think that the best coin for this year could be bitcoin but this is only a numerical valuation the bitcoin price although has dropped from 19000 USD to 6300 USD it is not the numerical analysis that matters but the political bans lifted from bitcoin and it will again win at the end of this year also
Bitcoin will still be on top for more longer years even though more coins are popping using the Ethereum technology it is because Bitcoin gain some trust from people through the years and it is fully decentralized and no one owns Bitcoin while Ethereum is owned by company or known people.
bitcoin there will always be at the top but the progression from ethereum including prices will increase rapidly. even though it is as good as any ethereum increase value but nonetheless this will also have an influence on the value of bitcoin is also certainly worth also increase. Special for this year alone is even hoping big increase would be something difficult.
If I think in this year will keep bitcoin in control of all the coins available on some exchange because this bitcoin is a guideline of all available coins and again this bitcoin is the parent or center of all altcoin
Currently it is BTC because it's developing a little bit better than ETH. Honestly, this year cannot be called "year of alts", it's like an opposite for the 2017...
Ethereum is a little bit crappier than before, that is why it is not getting as much attention as we all want it to have, but it is more than obvious that eth will never be over bitcoin

Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.
On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.
So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

eth is indeed the toughest rival of bitcoin. But bitcoin remains the number one in the future
I think BTC will continue to be a leader in the cryptocurrency market. Because if compared with ETH, the selling price of ETH with BTC is still too much different. Even if ETH wants to surpass BTC, it can not be for a short time, it still takes some time.
there will be no winners in the year 2018, all coins are experiencing difficult times because of the declining price. all the coins are suffering, and are in danger of dying. as well as bitcoin and ethereum.
If for this year it looks like the winner is already known. I think this year will won by ethereum. Not in terms of price, but in terms of mastery of the market. And also in terms of the popularity of my own also supports the ethereum and there are casualties, ethereum for this year.
I expect very good growth from bitcoin and eth this year, but still I'm hanging out more to strengthening bitcoin's leadership, the eth will remain on the second place and the gap will grow.
The market will recover and value will be regained an I think ETH is going to have a good year compared to BTC The year as however not come to an end just yet, a lot will still happen in the cryto arena that might change the balance, BTC might just recover value overtime and end the year on high note. we still cannot say which one will end the year well, hopefully both will end on a high note.
BTC will always be the winner. Hands Down! ETH can not as its a utility coin where in people buy it for ICOs and sell it off later. Bitcoin has a strong longterm store of value! so Bitcoin is your only Winner so depends on what time you say but BTC always wins at the end.
Without real winners, the two coins are not mutually exclusive. Any coin problem will affect the price of another coin.
