I think with term of trading, you should start from one particular coin, probably from Bitcoin or Ethereum, if you will attend to hold, it is better to start with 3 to 5 different, but top coins as well.
I think that it is best to start with 1K, then spend them on the scheme 50/25/25, and first it is desirable to choose the top tokens that would minimize the risks. The income will be small, but with minimal risks.

it depeneds on what you want to make, what is your strategy, do you want to do day traiding or holding as well or only one of thsoe.

For holding, it is possible to start with even only 100$, there are some good projects which are in the low price phase of the cycle which are worth to invest in. I can give you advice to research some coins as NEBULA AI and CEDEX.

Day traiidng I think 500$ is a good starting point.

There is no frames on the sum that you should spend investing, so nobody can tell you the maximum and the minimum number. We don’t now how much you earn, and how much free money you have. Only you understand you psychological limit and your real critical financial limit. The only thing that I can scare you that crypto is quite tricky stuff, so you’d probably want to invest more and more.

My friend started with  350$ and bought the Ethereum and forgot about it. Then he sold the Ethereum and invested in several ICO and earned more than 20 000$

The most optimal is about $ 1000. Because on some exchanges there are minimum order amounts. And for one transaction is not recommended to put more than 2-5% of the deposit.

I always want to suggest you all investors and potential investors investing in the cryptocurrencies only the money that you can afford, and it does not affect you with your daily life for lack of money even if you have to hodl for long or you lose it by any circumstance.  So invest only the money you can afford.

THe ideal number is not absolute but in percentage... almost everyone agree that this market is very volatile so you should not invest more than 5% max 10% of your capital because in this way you can manage  without any problems very high losses in certains periods like this...

Cryptocurrency is remarkable for the fact that there can even start with 100$. I had examples of those who this amount on Ethereum earned more than 10000$.

It seems to me to start with investing 200-300 $.  And if everything goes well, it is worth investing even more.

I think the ideal number is the amount of money that you are not afraid to lose.  But I do not advise you to invest only in one coin.

It depends on how much you can risk. Invest an amount that wouldn't hurt you financially even if you lost all of it.

Now it is better not to buy a cryptocurrency. In 2018, bitcoin becomes cheaper and if you buy tokens now, then you will lose your money. Wait until the market stabilizes and bitcoin goes up.

Start with what you can afford. No need to rush; set your goal for a year and a half or two. I start with $200 USD and added small amounts little by little. I’m quite satisfied with my gains currently. Best to think more about which projects are good rather than the dollar amount to invest.

If you still beginner in trading, very important to use money williing to lose to start in it, because cryptocurrency is high risk and high profit. Or just use not more than 10% of total your money, because no one can guarantee if you make profit later.

If you do not have experience in trading, then you do not have to enter a lot of money on the exchanger. Most likely, you will lose them. Try to trade with small amounts to gain experience

It seems to me it makes no sense to invest less than 200-300 $.  If you invest less, the profit will be very small.

Never invest more than you're willing to lose. The cryptomarket is highly risky and volatile, so you should be careful until you're a whale maybe. If you don't want to lose your investment, you can start with joining an airdrop or an ICO bounty program.

How much do i need to start trading altcoins. I would like to know what would be the ideal number.

Thanks!
It is worth investing immediately the amount of money that you are not afraid to lose.  And if everything goes well, you can invest some more money.
