When you're just starting trading and investing in crypto, you should start with money you're willing to lose while you're getting the hang of the cryptos which can be a risky investment. If you have a hundred bucks lying around, it won't hurt starting with that.

Money is important in starting out on cryptohub but knowledge and skills should be the foundation, having them can give the ability to do freelance, helping projects in exchange of getting coins for a start, having skills can widen your ability in earning not just in cryptohub but also in getting an actual job.

There is no pressure for trading I think, it depends on how big your faith with crypto are. Because no one can guaranty your assets when is something bad happens which you didn't expect.

I suggest you to start with the amount that you can afford to loss, else with a small amount as capital. Because, you're entirely new and it takes little time to learn about the same. If you had no previous experience you should start small and see how you perform.  You must be ready for all situations, even for the fall of alts’ price. Don't panic   Wink

I think the amount of money needed to start the altcoins trade depends on the investor's capital, which is why there is no ideal number. You can pay attention to not use all of your money same time.  You can buy in a few different altcoins and you can buy it in pieces.

To start trading it is depends on how much you can risks. Also any amount you can start depends on your budget because others wanted to start big to earn big profit. Either start at a small amount wherein you can carry to roll in trading.

as for me, 100 USD is a great amount to start investing in crypto currencies. Not high much and not low too. This is a great capital to start.
You should start now if you have 100 USD in your pocket. Smiley

It depends on how much you have. If you have a $100 or maybe $200 in your pocket then maybe that is a good start. Even with a small capital, you can start your career in crypto. Jus be keen on investing in ICOs that have potentials and with a little luck, you can double that amount in a matter of months.
There are many ways you can earn more reliable profits in this crypto depend on your strategy. And I think anyone can start in this crypto without spending money, by penetrating on bounty or airdrops is one of an easy way to gain profits. But when you want to earn a multiple amount, spend money for the capital so you can have the amount you desire, the more you spend ,the merrier you gain huge profits.

I think that you need to start with small amounts. As soon as you understand how correctly to work in the market, the amount can be increased. And the main rule - invest only the amount that you are not afraid to lose.

How much do i need to start trading altcoins. I would like to know what would be the ideal number.

Thanks!

As far as I know, there is no mandatory minimum amount. Some of the exchanges do have a limit on the minimum BTC deposit, such as 0.01 BTC. But most of the exchanges don't have any limits, either for the BTC deposits or those done with alts.

It depend how's your financial, and if you don't have much money.
You need to start:
1. Trading
For trading, I recommended you that you need to use money that's wouldn't hurt your any financial, otherwise ash money, so when you get loss you didn't feel sick. Smiley

2. Invest on ICO
Of course investing on ICO will use money, but not much. As far you can go with your money, investing you money on ICO (with a high risk)

3. Join Airdrop or Bounty
THIS ONE I LOVE!!!
Join Airdrop of Bounty was my favourite recommendation for a newbie who join on cryptocurrency. You can start with 0 Money Cheesy So many Airdrop/Bounty project on this forum. You can find it on here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0 or your Local Sub Forum if you didn't learn much English Language Wink

Invest only what you’re willing to lose. This seems like common sense, but it needs to be said nonetheless. You don’t throw all your retirement money, savings, etc. into the Crypto Market (really, any market) no matter how much you believe in it. If you have so much invested that it’s causing you to have restless nights, affect your health or mood then you’re investing more than what you should. I personally invest 10% of income, 20% if I have no debt. If you are young with no family you may be able to invest more. Use your best judgement!

Any amount of funds can be used to trade altcoins. The more the funds, the more the profit and you won't have to wait for big percentage gains to come out with good amount of btc profits but the downside to bigger capital is that your risk exposure is high as the cryptos market is very volatile and can cause partial or full loss of trading capital Any amount of funds can be used to trade altcoins. I think that newbie should start from $500 at least. $100 is not much enough to diversify assets well. My first investment was around 300$ a few years ago. It was the best time to buy and hold, but I was silly enough to trade. Wink

I don't agree with you. I am against the set amount. The most important is to know how much money are making a difference for him. If he has $10000 monthly salary $500 is nothing to start with.

It depends on your strategy.
I would and i am investing small in some new projects with big potential.

But it takes time for me to research the project and observe the project till i am certian that i want invest.
In this projects i go in for 100-300$ at time , this is my comfort zone.

If i invest in correct phase I can get x10 the money .

According to me, start with minimum amount between $100-$500. But don't start your trading with anycoin you likes first, i suggest you to first invest in Bitcoin or Ethereum only. These coins are life of crypto at current stage, while others are temporary. So this investment should make you riskless and gave good experince in trading.

do not ask others, measure your own ability with the budget you have and do not hurry, you should be able to measure the skill with the budget you have to get the maximum profit

I think that it does not matter at all. You can start with the amount that is not too pitiful. I would not immediately invest all my savings - yet the risk is not at all small!

There is no any idea number. Start with the amount you can lose with a smile on your face.
This way you can learn and will not be caught up in a pain factor.
