Yeah same deal with me. I suspect that the production of these units were outsourced and the fpga wasn't flashed properly. Ill let everyone know after I receive my replacement

Both units where tested before being sent, the packaging was bad from our side hence the damage of control unit. We are sorry for that because that case we improved packaging now.

to me
Its weekends they dont update tracking # til monday. We can refund you but it cost us 100 USD to stop the package so its your money back minus 100.

Let me know how you want to do.

Regards

The above was my response to an inquiry for tracking information. It certainly doesn't seem accurate as I've had two separate shipments of Avalon units which were generated on a Saturday, and my shipping date supposedly was a Friday.

I have requested the refund. Thus far have heard nothing.

Avoid this company!

We shipped your stuff on friday, we dont get tracking information during weekends from forwarders, you asked for refund we can refund you however we dont have sufficient bitcoin and we can refund your other shipment with paypal.

You expect a response promptly as if we are robots, we are also humans.

We will refund your money minus 100 USD on each unit that is the cost of stopping a shipment

I received my package promptly.  I paid with paypal.  However there was a problem with the control unit getting damaged in shipping.   Contacted me promptly and have one on its way express mail to me.  Will update on the unit once I receive it

I was the 2nd peson in this thread to make a purchase using BTC as a payment. After a slight mix-up, I was able to narrow down a shipping date of the 17th. It is now the 18th, and I have yet to hear from Bit-Tech on any shipping data.

I really hope this is a legitimate outfit, but the sparse communications and the mix-up I encountered has me wondering.

To others considering purchasing here. I would hold off until the earliest customers report receiving miners without issue.

If my situation changes, I will post here immediately. -- Be wary.

Well.... I just sent my order over for 1 unit to pay by BTC.... let's see how this runs its course.   I do appreciate the willingness to assist that I'm seeing here.  Positive by me.  (I've had to send back a BFL PSU and 60 Gh/s -- so no stranger to problems)

il send you a new controller unit and pbu , express delivery today.

Awesome, thanks for your responsiveness!

That kind of response is a good sign - please keep us in the loop with this.  I'm thinking of getting another avalon clone and not so sure btmine is up to producing any more for me than the one unit I have (and like).

Yes, the problem still remains. I would really appreciate it if you sent over a new PBU/Controller Unit because I'm 99% sure it is defective.

Thanks, I will try that. The fpga control board is version 1.6.1 and the light near the done marking is  solid red. Red probably means bad but does anyone know specifically what it indicates?

According to Avalon wiki https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon#V1.61

Red light = PSU issue.

On the Batch #2 Avalons, a red light generally occurred with a bad mining module.  It may mean a power fault.

You might try disconnecting first 1 then the other module, and perhaps adjust the IDE cable so that the connected module is in position 1.

Can you see the chip side of the board, or is it covered with a heat sink?

Does this manufacturer connect the board up to eligius for a few hours to test it before shipping?

So I've mucked with this for a few hours and I'm running out of ideas. I think the FPGA board is toast but I could be wrong. I think this wasn't tested before it was sent out.

I'll contact the vendor and see if this can be resolved, otherwise paypal will need to bail me out.

Complete guess here but I remember seeing somewhere that there's a setting that let's you select whether the chips are gen1 or gen2... maybe yours thinks it's a gen1 which is why frequency is at 282?
