Why not begin a campaign for Slack Snapshots?

Every 2-3 days just provide a screenshot of the general advancements being made.

Quotes from developers would certainly help. Also bitcointalk needs a replacement, a forum where only developers can post and update the thread, but people can comment. These comments will remain hidden unless the viewer wishes to read them. This will greatly help deflate the bullshit that is this orchestrated FUD.

You used flashbay.com for the TOR sticks, yes?  They appear to sell both designs.

Does it matter?

I have not being able to properly sync my wallet for a week now.

It always shows downloading 14000ish blocks and i leave my wallet open for up to 8 hours try to sync with network.

When I reopen wallet, it shows that I'm downloading 14000ish block again. it just never finishes sync.

I have tried re-install my wallet. and also replace blkindex.dat file. But nothing works.

have anybody else have this problem or anybody knows how to fix it ?

Did you have a series of small stakes come in right as your wallet went out of sync? We have been helping people with sync issues in Slack and it seems that sometimes the client starts staking before it is synced and ends up on its own fork. It could be an issue with POS itself, not just with XC. Regardless, Dan is aware of the issue and working on a fix.

Unfortunately, the only solution after it happens is to delete everything but your wallet.dat and start over. Transfer your wallet.dat to your desktop or some other folder for safe keeping. Then delete the /AppData/Roaming/XCurrency folder and re-install the wallet and resync the blockchain. It is very likely that you will need to exit the client and relaunch it several times as it redownloads the blockchain. It is not uncommon for it to stall out.

This is great example of why projects like this should be 100% open source, from the testnet phase onwards.

Why risk your coins in projects that are closed source and don't have a testnet?

It's just asking for something to go wrong (or be hacked), with no way to find out what happened except for the Cargo Cult approach of appeasing the Dev Gods.

For you staking fans, BBR's dev is now in a race against XDN's to be the first to implement anon POS via Cryptonite...   Cool

Bbr went PoS???

I had this happen to me also.  After deleting the files and letting the wallet sync, I had to run the "repairwallet" command in the debug window to get back the coins that were staked without being synced.

This can be done in the debug console in your wallet. Open your wallet and go to Help >> Debug Window >> Console and type in "repairwallet" without the quotes.

Thanks you guys very much.

Yes. This is exactly what happened to my wallet. It has a series of small stakes come in right as my wallet went out of sync.

So all i have to do is
1. backup my wallet.dat
2. delete the whole thing
3. re-intall the xc wallet.
4. let the wallet re-sync correctly

I'm not sure about the following steps.
5. copy the wallet.dat back to  /AppData/Roaming/XCurrency folder  ?
6. open debug window console and "repairwallet" without the quotes ?
7. then what to do ? does the my old balance just reappear or is there other step to follow?

Please help me clearify the last 3 steps.

Thank you guys again

When you backup your wallet.dat you will do so by moving it out of the /AppData/Roaming/XCurrency folder onto your desktop or another temporary folder. Once your wallet client has redownloaded the blockchain and is fully synced, you will close the wallet client and move your wallet.dat from your temporary folder back to /AppData/Roaming/XCurrency. Then relaunch the wallet. It's possible that your coins that had been staking will not show at first, so go to 'Help'-->'Debug window'. In the debug window you will see two tabs: information & console. Go to the 'console' tab and enter 'repairwallet' into the text field and press 'enter'. You should see a message return that says something about your retrieved coins. Close the debug window and all of your coins will be intact.

Hey Everyone. I have been off the scene for about a month (lost internet). But I'm back. Glad to see things are still progressing.
I just received my TOR Stick. I checked the XC-official.com site, but there are no instructions on how to use it.
Anyone have a pdf or something they can share on how to work with this?

Get over to slack chat and you'll be able to find some help.

how do we get on slack chat?

All,

Please keep in mind that the XC Slack is a community-driven initiative. I simply saw that it could benefit XC and Blocknet to have an alternative platform to this forum and decided to go out and make it happen.

If for some reason you do not want to or find it difficult to check out what Slack has to offer, this thread will be kept up to date with the latest information.

Thus, there really is no substantial reason to frown upon the fact that XC now has a Slack team. It's simply an alternative and an alternative that has many benefits not found here or via other platforms.

Did you know that we have in the XC and Blocknet Slack teams a MarketBot that pulls data from Bittrex and Poloniex in real-time? There is also a TipBot in production amongst numerous other useful features.

Slack is open to everyone. You can sign up for it in a matter of minutes.

There is indeed a private group within Slack for those who have verified ownership of 1000XC. I fail, however, to see how this is a bad thing. It is hardly an elitist amount. 1000XC can be had today for $100 USD. It is an amount that makes the group accessible to most, yet places a barrier between those who have a genuine interest in discussing the project and those whose primary goal is to detract and cause trouble.

With this group I am simply hosting a space where everyone present has been verified to have a current vested interest in the project. This is a perk of Slack that simply cannot be replicated here in this forum.

And iCEBREAKER, no one's coins are at risk of any loss due to the issue where sometimes inputs stake before the client is synced.

Saved you from a scam? Send me some BTC!
so ... you expect "new investors" to get 1000 xc to join slack to see what going on?
sounds like a good plan ...

No that's only for a confirmed investors channel..

After the pump-group chat-log debacle, was the creation of this channel really the best idea though?

It just gives these idiots the opportunity to shout "Ponzi", which is something we're trying to avoid looking like.

My god things get a little bumpy and quiet and people run around screaming the sky is falling, the world is ending.

This coin and project is FAR from being dead guys, stop posting that nonsense, it may have seen brighter days but every project has its ups and downs.  I SERIOUSLY doubt these guys would be going through all the work and hassle for a dead coin.

No, you DON'T need 1000k coins to get into Slack either........why the hell do people continue to say that after it has been said a thousand times ANYONE can join the slack groups for both XC and block!

You guys running around saying this stupid shit are the exact reason they sought out another resolution to this forum.......and you just continue on.

They are grabbing at beach sand, trying to use ANYTHING. They are cut off from any information.
