We are scratching our heads over gambling and its definition.
Seems to me, that the real problems of ZEIT have been solved.

There is so much we have to do in the future. I believe we should save our energy for our priorities.
I personally see no sense in such discussions.

Keep on focusing on the goals, not focusing the non-goals.

Nobody - certainly not me - is saying that what any individual chooses to do with their own coins is any business but their own.

What HAS been said, very clearly, is that there should be no 'official' promotion or support for gambling.

Site seems to be down. I think it was some kind of lottery.
We're not able to control what the people will do with their zeit.
ZEIT is an open currency and if someone make the decision to add ZEIT to an online casino, we cannot prevent this.

The Knights can use ZEIT for their noble intentions, but that's all we can do. ZEIT itself is not under any control. It's P2P.

For example: The Knights can also use Mintcoin for their targets instead.
The Mintcoin community can do nothing. It's an open currency.

Fair point. But we should really define our terms and build on solid ground. What people do with their Zeitcoins is their own business. If there are sites out there that use Zeitcoins, that also is their business. Life is a gamble, but my personal opinion is that invitations to addictive gambling should not appear on any of the Zeitcoin websites. I note that two other posts have come in while writing this, but here goes:

I can't state this strongly enough: I, for one, do not wish to be associated with anything 'tacky' and for Zeitcoin to explicitly encourage gambling, it would strike me as being exactly that - tacky. I like to be associated with quality.

Being part of a group of like-minded people is also important. The boundaries and cornerstones of group 'principles', the word Lion used, should be established early on, not avoided. That's what I assume we have been and are doing. Mitras, I don't include you in this because I think that you are genuine and that we may be speaking at cross-purposes - but speaking for myself, I would not want to belong to a group that was 'unprincipled'. I wouldn't know whether to turn my back, or not.

Neither am I desperate enough to have to stoop to exploiting other people's weaknesses. Zeitcoin facilitating gambling? Not for me. Zeitcoin doesn't need it. It hasn't done other coins any good, has it? Quark? Maxcoin?  I believe Zeitcoin is intrinsicly strong and will rise on its own merit. Quality and principles are part of merit.

What will you do, Mitras, if PRIOR to the formation of the knights, a set of principles are established that preclude such things from even being voted on?

Unless I missed a meeting, there is NOTHING in those principles which would countenance the support or promotion of anything to do with gambling.

If you don't respect & support those principles, perhaps it is you who are in the wrong place, not me?

I realy hate the" gambling" discussion.
If we have the counsel we will made a democratic vote.

That is very much appreciated. If we have no principles, how can we 'stand for' anything & expect to be believed?

Kiklo, I would like to add this to your suggested to-do list. Full support of Lion in that Zeitcoin is not to be associated with anything that exploits, or encourages destructive, addictive behaviour, such as gambling.

That for me is also a no-no.

People should just move their funds off exchanges if not actively trading, like they should be doing anyway.
