^ It looks like Celtics are heading to the NBA Finals with how things are going in the second quarter. Maybe one of the Heat's strategy is conserving their strength for the second half but that doesn't usually work when you're already down by double digits. It also takes double the effort to chase that huge gap. They are not the Warriors that has many many shooters they can rely on.

edit: they managed to bring down the lead to six points. Now that's more we like it. We got ourselves a good game.

The Heat were able to cut it 6 points just before halftime with some free throws and Kyle Lowry earning the trip to the strip, but we are almost half way into 3rd and the Celtics have managed to build the lead back to 14 points, Butler and Bam Adebayo have really got it going for the Heat in offense, while it's been almost everyone of the Celtics contributing better as a team.

And now Heat is down again with 14 points. There defence and offence become weak after there good run on the 2nd quarter. I already watch this kind of game and I'm pretty sure that Boston will them on tonights match. I doubt too the Miami Heat will give a good fight against GSW with there on and off performance. There 3s are so weak too so I will go for Boston this time.

Heat is crumbling is slowly and they allow there momentum gone on the start of 3rd quarter.

EDIT: A 7-0 Miami Heat run have cut the lead back to just within 7, maybe this would go down wire again, but how either team closes out the 3rd might really matter here.

I'm very excited about this game. I think Boston is slightly favorite but it will be a very though match, both teams want to make it to the finals. Miami rely heavily on Jimmy Butler on offense but Boston get score more from all players. You can't expect game six performance from Butler all the time so other guys should help scoring for Miami too. Boston don't just rely on Tatum, they have more options and that makes defending more difficult for opponents. Tyler Herro is still questionable, Lowry should take more responsibility. We'll see in a couple of hours what will happen.

You're right that the other Heat players shouldn't just rely on Butler. I think Adebayo should be more active in the paint while Oladipo should throw the ball more often. As for Lowry, I'd say he took more responsibility because he made a double-double in Game 6, and I hope he can repeat it tonight. By the way, it looks like Herro is going to play tonight, and this is definitely good news for the Heat.

It's the end of 1st Quarter and the Heat are already down by as many as 15, they're offense is becoming more like what we witnessed in game 4 and 5, Jimmy Butler haven't been as aggressive as he was in game 6. and he really might be the only way out for the Heat, Kyle Lowry already picked up 2 early fouls too, it's really not looking anywhere near good for the Heat after the first 12 minutes.

Miami rely heavily on Jimmy Butler on offense but Boston get score more from all players.

That's actually my concern since Game 1 of their series against the Boston Celtics. Jimmy Butler is really damn good but the adjustment of his teammates is what I looking for. I know Heat is just allowing Butler to be the main guy but if that's always the case, there will be a big problem if Butler will be  a) defended well by the Celtics b) having the worst night c) be injured (of course we don't want that to happen).

Since the series is now in the decisive game, I hope both teams will give us a close and competitive game.

Can't wait to watch the Final playoffs game this year.

The question is who is going to stop the splash brothers on Heat side? plus they have Jordan Poole to contend as well. And then they have a good movement, very dynamic that if they defender just for a second blink, the splash brothers are open to go for a 3 point. And whoever it is, they have to do it day in, day out to pull a upset win against the Warriors in the NBA Finals.
Well, I have no doubt that Smart, Tatum or Butler could nullify curry or Thompson in a game.
But for this to happen, your teammates need to help defensively. It's no use (Smart or Butler) to be able to mark Thompson well and the rest of the team can't defend the Curry and he will always be free to shoot when Thompson is marked.

Heat/Celtics, the whole team will need to play together so they can mark the best Warriors players. Another important variable is ... If Celtics/Heat can mark Curry and Thompson well, they need to pray that the GSW reserve players don't play well, because if that happens, there will be a great chance for Warriors to be champions again!

Hi OP, I'm just a bit confused with the poll.

What do you mean by "finals poll coming"?
I just voted for fun although I don't understand, but would care to explain what's it all about?

Why are you confused? I was waiting for Eastern Conference finals game 7 to change the poll for NBA Finals winner, so I leave it blank for now. I already mentioned this in my previous post.

I'm waiting for Eastern Conference champion to update the poll for 2022 NBA Finals. Golden State Warriors is the first team to make it but we'll see if Boston or Miami will take other spot either today or two days later.

We are finally going to find out the victorious team in this series tonight. Miami Heat have a really good advantage of playing home indeed. But at this stage, I don't think that it will matter much. Both teams defeated each other in away games in this series before. This must be enough proof for this as a result. I will also choose Boston Celtics to make it to the finals. I think they will defeat Miami Heat by a close point difference and become the opponent of Warriors after. I will expect to see a strong effort by Tatum in this one too.

Crucial games at home court? of course it matter much at this is a series and you want to get any advantage that you can have at this point. And so with the fans behind, the team might be push to their limits and will try to win at any cost. It will be close by I think that the Heat will Butler will win the series and face the Warriors in the finals. And this could be a defensive and chess game and not expecting the kind of big lead games.

I am ill Sad I normally do not miss out any chance to watch game 7's, not even if it is first round. I would watch it no matter which series it is because the best games are always played during game 7's. Even if one team doesn't, the other one brings the A game, and usually both teams does that.

Remember that Mavs and Suns just recently, that was one of the all time performances this current Mavs roster pulled off, never seen them play that well. However, it is after midnight for me, near to morning and I have a bit of a fever, not too much thankfully and I got tested and not Covid, so it should be ok in a few days hopefully, but can't wake up early to watch it unfortunately. I hope it is a boring game Cheesy.

Nothing beats a game 7 in the NBA playoffs.  This is going to be a great one for sure.  I didn't think Miami would make it this far, but they've done a hell of a job in the playoffs.  I still think Boston is going to rise to the occasion and beat them tonight, but I've been wrong a few times about Miami already.  I just find it hard to believe that Jimmy Butler can carry a team to the Finals, but that seems to be what's happening.  My prediction is that he'll be held to below 25 points and the Celtics will win.  If he puts up another 40+ and gets them a win, I may have to acknowledge that he's a star player instead of locker room cancer.

The winner of the Eastern Conference is going to be decided in Miami tonight. Even though Heat have the home court advantage in this game, I still see Celtics as one step ahead of them. But Butler's performance in their last game was really very special. If a player manages to shine out like Butler in the seventh game of the series, this can change the way things go completely.
Have you seen Butler went toe to toe with Lebron James at the bubble? Exhausted but never gave up. That's him doing the Finals and I bet he can still remember that. He will do the same at this Easter Conference Finals even without anyone helping him. Williams will be his problem upon attacking the paint but if he could get him to receive fouls then it will be a game ender for the Celtics.
Just one more good night and this will be over, I am betting for the Miami Heat to win this last game of the East.

As I said, I wanted to see game 7 between these two current heavyweight teams in the Eastern Conference and it would be good to watch it live with friends for most of us really wanted to see the Boston Celtics win this series. But the problem here is Butler, He is like someone who doesn't give up even though they were losing in the game 6 and yet he managed to takeover and beat the Celtics even though they catch up with them in the first half but in the second half, he was playing like prime Lebron and boost his team to win game 6 and forced game 7.

I agree that the Warriors will probably be favorites in the final series against both the Heat and the Celtics. However, it's worth noting that the Heat can sometimes be very good at defense. So if the Heat finds a way to stop the splash brothers, then they might have a chance to win the final series. Moreover, the result of game 6 showed that the Heat players were not going to give up.
I also imagine that... I believe the Warriors will be the champions in this season... and many people expect it too

For this not happen, the Celtics/Heat will need an excellent performance defensively and offensively to beat the Warriors.

Ain't we witnessing that right now? Excellent performance defensively and offensively on both Celtics and Heat. That is why they can win even on road games.
The Warriors though has something that is difficult to defeat, it's their experience. They have been in the Finals for 6 times including now and when you have that you don't panic in crucial moments unlike the teams playing in the East.

NBA making more money. They did it in Mavs and now in Heat.
Heat fined $25,000 for violating bench decorum rules

Yup! Experienced is what the Warriors have as an advantage t whoever they will be facing this upcoming NBA finals, a team who switched

the momentum to favor them in the last few minutes of the final quarter, a team who is not easily giving up and continues to rally back

to snatch the win from any team. Both Miami and Boston need to work it out. They have that history of losing big leads in the final quarter

which Warriors may abused them once they've met in the finals.

Miami has the experience, but with Butler leading the team, they have not won a championship yet, so it's a tough challenge for them if they will be in the NBA Finals. It's gonna be hard to predict, but it looks like the sharps are betting on the Celtics tomorrow to win and cover, let's see.

That's peanuts for a big team like the heat, it doesn't matter if they will get fined as long as they will win the series, and they are now in the last game to prove that they are the better team than the Celtics. I'm really excited about this game tomorrow, I'll going to give time to watching this great game 7, heat should win this.

Both Heat and Celtics doesn't really give a fuc* where they are playing as we have seen in this series so you can take out the home advantage for game 7 when betting.
LOL!  Grin
Yeah, Miami Heat is actually the underdog even at their home @+2. I think what happened with the series made that possible. The Celtics won at FTX arena twice and bookies expect they can win there again at Game 7.
....
Now I think Tyler Herro will be able to play in Game 7 considering he was forcing the coaching staff and management to let him play in Game 6. He may feel better now and that will be a great addition to the Heat's offense who had been exhausting their options.
Also, a good spacer with his isolation attacks and transition plays. That kid is never afraid to shoot or attack the paint.
He did well in game 1 but I have not been impressed with his overall performance in this series so far. He's not afraid to shoot I give him that but he's also made poor decisions like not running down the clock when they're leading.
Well, he is better than Duncan Robinson who is a weakness on the defensive end. If there's a deciding point I'd rather pick Herro with the ability to stay in front of an opponent than Duncan. Having a backup ballhandler to switch with Lowry will also be helpful while they are resting.
