Mintcoin: Get some
Did you guys ever had an issue where your wallet was "not responding" time and time again?

Yes, this has happened before. Usually it is just that your wallet is still syncing. The GUI sometimes gets lagged behind. If you go to your Mintcoin folder, in your computer and check the blockchain, even though the wallet itself says "not responding" if you watch it, the file size of the blockchain should be getting bigger every few seconds or so. THis means your wallet is still syncing and once it is caught up, the GUI (graphic user interface) of the wallet should become responsive again. Just let your wallet stay open and keep running, at it should eventually correct itself without any issues.

I have left the wallet open for a few weeks and still its not responding, tried downloading bootstrap still getting not responding. Am pretty lost at what else to do since it worked previously without any issues not sure what happened
I think some people have said that downloading another altcoin wallet and opening it, and then go back and try the Mintcoin wallet it will make it work. Not sure why that is, but on rare occasion seems to be a fix for some people. I dont remember which altcoins because ive never had the issue...Does anyone know which altcoin they have used in the past to get it working? Just saying this might do the trick.

Yeap, I left it all night and still not responding... luckily I have my wallet on another computer and there it works fine... as long as you have your wallet.dat backed up you can try somewhere else.....

I have 8gb of RAM and a i7 processor so not sure why that is happening!.. pretty annoying tho because it is a great coin, want to have it open and staking all the time! hahaha
I usually leave mine on all the time with no issues. Have you checked the mintcoin folder yet to see if the blockchain is still increasing? Are you fully synced? What size is your blockchain file?

I'm going to auction around 5 million Mintcoin on ebay. What do you think is a good price in USD??

Its says $0.009/1000 MINT on our new Block explorer. Check it out.

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/mint/

That provides some good info at a glance.

Looking at Poloniex I think 9 Sat is the right base for a price of this amount, I think Cryptsy has basically frozen mint into their account?

Thank you for setting this up. Looks great!

One question: Why does it say the hosting will expire in 3 days? I thought you said you had it going for a month?

It says so because i had a power cut at my place and i will donate the BTC now :p I will post the tx detail here when it will be done. Thanks for asking

I have wallet version 1.17.0.0 on windows 7. I bought coins on 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/10, 4/22, 4/30.
coins minted and showed up in my wallet for:
3/20 group on 4/10
3/27 group on 4/16
4/3 group on 4/23
expecting minted coins from the 4/10 group any time now.

So it looks like every 20 days or so. But my wallet always says “stake: 0″ Do I need to do something to make sure all coins are staking?

When I hover over the minting? symbol on the lower right it displays, “Not minting because you don’t have mature coins.” It changes to how long until minting happens (time varies every few minutes) for a short while before coins show up. Is this normal?

Does minting take place 20 days after coins are added to the wallet or do I need to do something to make sure? Also do the newly minted coins get added to the group of coins that minted them and mint more as a larger group 20 days later and keep repeating this cycle?

What do I need to do to make sure all my coins, old or new are staking?

Is there a way to reset the clock so groups of coins mint together?

The minted coins for the 4/10 group showed up and for maybe an hour the wallet showed a qty of coins next to Stake: equal to the 4/10 group plus the coins minted from the 4/10 group. I guess this means in 20 days coins will be minted from the new total?

Yes that is normal.

When coins enter your wallet, they need to wait 20 days before they become mature. Once they become mature, then they become eligible for staking. When they start staking (minting), then you will see your "Balance" drop, and the "Stake" rise. Once they are successful at staking, you will see transactions come in, and they will be unconfirmed until after 50 confirmations, then your "Balance" will rise again, and the "Stake" will drop. When your coins stake, the new coins are added into the same address that it came from. So then next month, you will have your coins stake again, plus the new coins you minted, will also start staking. If you want to consolidate, then you should move all of your coins into 1 address as one lump sum, then they will be sure to stake the fastest as soon as 20 days is past.

After they stake, they have to wait 20 days again to become mature again.

If a block mints less than 30 days of being created , then it splits in half.
If a block mints after 30 days of being created, then only 1 new block is created with the original amount and the interest combined.

Hope that helps!

So I don't need to do anything with the wallet? Just leave it as is and all the coins will stake?
All you need to do with the wallet is have it open and running, fully synced and connected to the internet. If you have waited past 40 days and it is still not staking, then you may want to consolidate all your coins so they have more weight on the network. But keep in mind that moving coins around will reset the timer again and you have to let them sit again for another 20 days after moving them before they will become mature again and be able to stake.

Don't forget that your wallet will need to be UNLOCKED to mint.  Make sure your wallet is encrypted, download the full blockchain, then unlock your wallet and watch your numbers increase.  Smiley

I would suggest everyone to go and check out Fluttercoin wallet. Their Coin Control window shows a lot of detail about staking like coin age, weight, potential stake etc. for each input.

Their explorer is superior to anything MINT has on offer at the moment.

Exactly, I saw your post and thought it should be done. Although i dont have too much BTC so we need mintcoin team/community to decide if they want this. Once it is up anyone can donate to extend the hosting with any amount. Check out Positron explorer there. They just upgraded their hosting. I contributed too Smiley

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/tron/#!crypto

Click link in Hosting column there
Can they make it so the service is payable with MINT?

I dont think that is possible but for that we have shapeshift.io at our disposal. Another great service!
