Hi there,
i started mining SUMOKOIN in december and believe in the coin as a long term investment. Unfortunately my GPU power isn't really high at the moment Sad Hopefully i can get a few Vegas in the next weeks Smiley

If you are getting a few Vega cards then, if you are paying for them, you would be better off investing your money in buying cryptocurrency, it will probably take you 18 months to 2 years to get your investment back and in that time you would have made more buying coin (unless, of course, your electricity is free).

The reason for this post is my newly created Alexa skill "Sumokoin Info". As there are a lot of skills for other coins i thought i will create one for SUMOKOIN. Maybe i can help improve the popularity of Sumokoin a little bit although i know that there aren't a lot of Alexa devices sold yet. And maybe someone of you is also willing to donate a few coins to my sumokoin subaddress  Wink

The skill can give you up-to-date market informations about the cryptocurrency SUMOKOIN. The following data can be retrieved:

- current price
- price changes in the last hour
- price changes in the last 24 hours
- price changes in the last 7 days
- market cap

If the skill is used on Alexa devices featuring a display (e.g. echo show) additional informations will be displayed.

If there are any problems, crashes or questions please contact us via email ([email protected])!

Available commands:

* Alexa, ask Sumokoin Info for a summary
* Alexa, ask Sumokoin Info for the current price
* Alexa, ask Sumokoin Info for price changes
* Alexa, ask Sumokoin Info for the market cap

Hi, I'm looking for a Vega but I don't know where to find one. After buying yours, could you tell me where can I buy one, please? Smiley

Hi guys, I have a noob question and it would be nice if someone could explain this to me.

I'd like to understand at what part of the below process my coins will get anonymous.

I have a Cryptopia acc with a known public key and then I decide to send all my Sumokoins to my wallet. How my details can be 100% anonymous if the address my coins came from can be checked in the blockchain? Huh

I hope this makes sense. Thanks

Here is the CryptoNote whitepaper, the answer may be in there.

https://cryptonote.org/whitepaper.pdf

When I use a blockchain explorer to check my Sumo address nothing comes up.

Sumokoin's addresses are stealth addresses (a cryptonote feature). A recipient can never know who send the coins unless told otherwise, this is why cryptopia is using a payment id to discern which deposit belongs to which account.
Please, however, dont confuse this with the subaddresses feature (or ghost addresses as we like to call them) its a different thing.

EDIT: Here is a very good explanation (though quite technical) from an XMR user https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/1500/what-is-a-stealth-address

Sumo GUI window/frame doesn't scale on a 1024 x 600 screen. A little portion at the bottom (progress bar) gets cut off and there is no window resizing or vertical scrolling feature. It doesn't have a "maximize/restore" option either. Perhaps this is something that can easily be fixed in the next release. Monero GUI had the same issue but has since been fixed (now able to scroll).

Done! Thanks

Im mining this coin now for 2 weeks, i am mining 1 sumocoin in a week

Should i stop mining this coin because its not so much.
Or i keep mining and hope that the price will higher for this coin

Well.. with your current processing power, you will earn close to nothing also for other cryptonote algo. I rather you mine this and hope it went to moon in future.

There are sudden 888 huge sell walls at 40k Sat what is up with that lol?
I guess if they break one, then seller will remove the other orders 888 and try to sell then higher. In any case, need investors, which will break the wall up to 40k.

It seems you have really low Hash Power, I think you won‘t get more if you switch to another coin. Just keep mining SUMO and hold it for at least 6-12 months, most likely you will be happy then.

Thanks for help people! Got the Claymore up and running last night.

It does use a bit more energy, but in my case I don't mind. I'm using the rig to heat a part of my home and xmr-stak's 780W wasn't enough to have a nice temperature in a big room. Claymore's 950W is better. I just love the idea that heating produces income!

This might be a newbie question but i'll try anyway:

Can you mine sumo with claymore Cryptonote gpu miner?

The reason I'm asking is that after an annoying windows update my old version of xmr-stack doesn't work anymore and the latest version has a MUCH lower hashrate (WTF?!?), Claymore still gets best hash with monero, but it doesn't seem to work with sumo.

Yes, you can use Claymore. I used Claymore 11.2 for a short while, but switched back to SgminerGM. The hashrate of Claymore was slightly better but the increase in wattage was too much for me.
