What an enormous team ! we can say Zcash is a university Coin :-)
But i think that Zcoin is better even with a small Team, Poramin alone can be better than 200 university Theorist.

How can zk proofs make other coins obsolete when xmr has no weak points anymore, it's perfect anonymity (who, when, where, how much, using what), without a trusted set up, without lack of a way to check if a trusted setup was broken or another exploit was found. It looks like zero knowledge proofs are just a longer way to do the same thing. And optional anonymity plus knowledge about money sums sent in zerocoin are behind xmr at the moment, unless they change it.

I have successfuly sync my old wallet which took me many days.but in the end i found few hours solution that was thought to be not feasible. To sync old wallet do following steps.

1-Backup your old wallet.
2-Delete all files from appdata/romming/zcoin .Entire folder (do take backup of your old wallet)
3-New start zcoin with new fresh wallet.
4-close the wallet as soon as it creates new wallet data in  appdata/romming/zcoin.
5- Download Block chain from : http://znode.io/ Extract two files of "blocks" and "chainstate" and replace them with folders of  "blocks" and "chainstate"(The wallet you just created) in appdata/romming/zcoin .
6-Now restart wallet.it will take some time to sync.it took me 8-10 hours to sync.
7-New as soon as new wallet opens.Backup the New wallet "wallet.dat" and copy receiving zcoin address to send coins from your old wallet to this very new one.
8-Now close wallet and copy old zcoin "wallet.dat" file and replace it with new one (or just simply delete new after taking backup and paste old).
9-Now restart wallet.It will rescan and will take few minutes or just one hr aprox to sync.
10-Now when wallet opens with your old wallet coin.simply send them to new wallet .
11-Get rid of old wallet .as it may create problems in future for you.

My opinion.

Zclassic is a pump, seriously. The entire reason that Zclassic exists is because they don't like giving developers money. And now they are making zencoin or whatever so that they can put the tax back.

So just ignore Zclassic, it's basically another Litecoin.

It might make a billion dollars on the back of no fundamentals, but that's because of the bubble we are in.

What you should be asking is why is zerocoin not worth as much as zcash?

I am researching this to decide if I should up my zerocoin investment.

My issues so far:

1. The zerocoin project has a very limited team.

I can one relevant professional with a Masters on their webpage. Sure you don't need qualifications, but not everyone is a Vitalik, so the qualifications helps.

I see no cryptographers or scientists on their team and I think that isn't a good sign. I can see liaisons and front end dev. The founder is the only one with serious clout. (Poramin Insom)

With the 20% tax I'd hope to see that powering a world class team like what Zcash have on board. (https://z.cash/team.html)

2. The bug.

This still makes up a massive amount of the coin supply and will suppress prices for a long time. It's free money for the attacker forever.

The problem here is that the code had the bug and it is apparent why, the team has one guy that knows enough to check over the whole lot.

At least with your competitor zcash they have a huge amount of people responsible for verifying the conditions.

3. The tax.

I think considering that the zerocoin team is not on the same level as the zcash team it would have made more sense to make the tax less (unless they are going to utilize more professionals.)

We have saw big dumps price over the past week, but now is a good time for buying and keep XZC to wait better prices?  I think the price XZC dump more because the price BTC up very fast. In USD, the price XZC sideway 6-7$ and not down more. I hope the price XZC can up in next fews months.

If you run this wallet at first time it will take quite long to finish sync (maybe it's 3-5 days for sync)
you should restart the wallet some times when it's stuck  and it's running smoothly after block 20xxx upwards.

In one side ZCash (ZEC) in an other side ZCoin (XZC).
ZCoin is better than ZCash (technics properties).

The two versions of zcash, which one is which? For example, what version is the one listed on coinmarketcap? (The two versions I am talking about are the ones that split from each other after the team disagreement.)
