As for the staking thing:Almost 2 weeks ago I had 70k coins in my desktop wallet.they were divided into 2500 coin chunks(yes I know
).I was getting rewards twice a day.Sadly enough I don't remember the network weight. As I was buying more coins I began to throw them in the wallet and the chunks were uneven! No rewards at all.I reorganised the wallet of 100k coins in 10k chunks. The network weight was very big, took coins more than 24 to mature (PC always open and wallet unlocked for staking). After maturing,no rewards in 3 days and prediction of reward was more than 100 (!!!!) days.
Right now I'm not staking,as I got a little scared after Hashmaster and merl got hacked.I'm building a new PC just for staking, but untill that the coins are evenly distributed to 10 different adresses at 10 dif. places.
I just wrote all this to share my experience and give you an idea of what not to do!Hope that was helpful and not confusing.
P.S.When I get back to staking,I'll let you know of what I've done and what is the outcome!
Happy staking everybody!Go Steps!
Could you elaborate more on the right way to send coins to your wallet? Is coin piling different with every POS coin?
Why is it better to move coins into your wallet in one big chunk rather than smaller ones?
Hey man, good question.
So, I'll try to make this as simple as I can.
If you send for instance 100k coins in one chunk; you'll only find one POS block every 24 hours. Your 100k won't split and the additional pos reward will add onto the block. so your 100,000 will turn into one block of 100,050.
Now, if you send 10 chunks of 10k into your wallet, you'll have more chance of finding a block but the chance of getting one will be lower due to staking weight. Staking weight is your wallet power vs the network power. in this instance you could find 10 POS blocks every 24 hours but are less likely to find them.
Some people have sent chunks of 100 coins to there wallet. So there initial stake weight would have been very low but eventually it maximizes and you can then in theory find 100 POS blocks every 24 hours.
We are nearing the completion of our Version 1 of the forum.
Th more coins you have in your wallet the higher the stake weight, thus increasing your chances of finding a POS block.
I have 100k coins in my wallet split into 2x20k and the rest are 10k. The 20k blocks find a POS block before the 10k chunks because there power is greater than the 10k ones. Luck plays it's part in POS blocks too. My 10k blocks could in theory find 2 pos blocks before the 20k even blinks.
POS mining isn't something you want to keep changing. Put your coins in your wallet, in chunks you feel are best and then leave the wallet encrypted but unlocked.
On other POS coins I have had, I had more then double the POS blocks of other people around me in the richlist due to me optimizing my blocks.
A bit long winded but there you go lol.
Any question do let me know
