No, not all the successful gamblers are addicted to gambling. First time lucky ones can also win big and successful in gambling. And also the irregular gamblers can also hit big and be a successful gambler in the gambling life. Then the addicted ones can also win big and be a successful gambler in the long run of all the years he has spend in the gambling industry. To become a successful gambler does not need a professional skill to be but it is from the luck of the day. If you are lucky to win the games then you become successful. As I said before gamblers should know when to gamble, what to gamble and where to gamble. And that is they should know "what they are doing". In gambling whenever you have the luck, you win and when there is no luck on that day then you loss so luck is also part of a successful gambler life.

Timing plus huge luck can take them into a successful journey, I like that idea, when you know where, what and when, if all are being executed the right way, plus the big luck factors allows you to enojoy, there's always a good rewards that awaits for you, successful gamblers have differences within, it's more on how they actively participating and how well they perform in balancing both loses and winnings,.

Sometimes there is a high difference between success and addictions when we talk about casinos and their possibility of winning and this is what we have to have at the back of our minds so that we may not take the wrong route while gambling because we have some gamblers who are addicted losers who never record any level of result in a positive direction but they are yet an addicts,  so I think addiction is more of a mental stake or just a repeated bad habits,  this has a lot to be considered so we can't really relate any form of peculiarity to which direction a gambler will be to declare them as an addicts.

But I am sure that,  it will be hard to see anyone that have a consistent winning being called an addict, the reason being that,  his level of addiction may not be noticed since he has money to gamble around with and sponsor his addictions which will make it hard to be noticed compared to when the gambler doesn't have any money to act with.

You can be addicted to good behavior as well.

All you need is a positive reward when you perform a behavior. Then your mind wants more of it, and the cycle starts.

For drugs for example it is the high you get when you consume them, like alcohol for example, or coffee. But eating feels good too, that's why we overdo it.

But you can also feel good while running for example, the so called runners high.

So, in the end it doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you feel in your brain that matters.

This reminded me of a non gambler who has been hearing about gambles, had seen gamblers on the scene of their gambling tables but has never made an attempt to feel among but a time came he decided to get close and watch how this whole game is played then he decided to give it a one time try and luckily he won at the very first bet but doesn't further to make another stake.
He feel he just won a free money and doesn't have to risk gambling with it.
So do we still have to say he is a gambler after his one time trial with successful winning even as he doesn't further gambling?

Well! I could say that gambling is an addiction and doesn't matter if one is successful or not instead there are disciplined and responsible gamblers.
Hence every successful gamblers are disciplined and gamblers because they goes as budgeted with responsible expenditures.
Chances are very slim for most. The odds are stacked in favor of the bookies, and the big investors who can manipulate the odds with a team, and lots of resources in their favor. The average person stands no chance of making a living from this forum. If you are extremely impulsive, and have the mindset of a pathological gambler you will lose everything eventually, and if that is not enough for you, you will start borrowing, and then stealing to support your addictions.
Gambling addictions are more powerful than opiate addictions. I have seen people who have gone through all these phases of a gambler. I wish these sites could be blocked to people with these impulsive personality disorders before they destroy their lives. The short answer is no. Whether you are playing slots, cards, betting on horses, or fantasy football there is no guarantee of outcome. As they say Vegas wasn't built on winners. Every bet you take is a risk. Some bets are riskier than others but they are all risks. If you read that a slot machine has a 94% payback rate, that does not mean you will win 94 out of every 100 spins. It means that one lucky person that happens to tap the button at precisely the right time to nail the RNG (random number generator) to get a big win. That one big win equals the 94% of all the money put into the game. You can dump $1000s into a slot machine and only win a few little hits over time. Then somebody sits down, sticks a dollar in and hits the big jackpot.

Just as the tittle already ask, I really want to know if people who are successful in gambling also seen as addicts because I believe  for one to be successful in gambling or whatever they choose to do, there must be some good amount  of time and effort invested in it as well as money and we know that a successful  gambler must have invested  both time, effort and even money to make any reasonable  winning  and these also are features of an addict as there are always excessive time spent on a betting site.

It does not necessarily an addict but a gambler who gets control of all his actions, you can be successful in gambling and at the same time a responsible gambler, these gamblers do not take a loan, do not spend the whole day gambling and these gamblers know how to accept their losses, if ever you reach a level of success in gambling it just means that you gain an insight on how to win frequently where your winning ratio is higher than your losses, this is not a gambler who brags that he has found a winning formula because there's really no winning formula in gambling.

For the problem of success in gambling in my opinion everyone has their own point of view, some say that success in gambling is where they can always win big, and some say that success in gambling is where like you said that they can control everything well and not experience things that can make them not okay.  I agree with you that successful gamblers are those who can keep everything in balance, set a lot of limits so as not to overdo it, be responsible gamblers by not putting amounts that they cannot be responsible for, on the other hand it is one of the actions that all gamblers must do and have because obviously on the other hand this is just a profit activity.

There is absolutely no way or formula that can lead gamblers to a winning streak, it simply does not make sense, it is clear that the final result always depends on your luck at that time and also on the other hand there is no guarantee whatsoever for you to win, which is why until now there are still many people suffering from a large number of losses. I hope you should keep a cautious view of gambling and be more realistic.

Its not just about controlling behavior; its about understanding the psychology behind it. Gambling involves risk and reward, a delicate balance that can quickly tilt. Many gamblers struggle to accept losses, despite its importance. Intoxicating wins can blur the boundary between amusement and addiction. Now things get complicated. Not chasing wins is smart, but its against human nature. By nature, we desire more and push boundaries. Not just the money, but the adrenaline rush and victory. Self-control in gambling involves managing your complete psychological response to the game, not just your behavior. And gambling sucess is a problem. Some make money, but is that success? Probably more about the journey than the destination. True gambling success? Its knowing when to play, when to quit, and that sometimes the best gain is not playing. Its complicated, so simplifying it to wins or loses is ridiculous.
Getting a win will make them try to chase more wins, even though it will never be easy because they might experience more losses. They must be able to restrain themselves after winning by not continuing to gamble and preferring to rest to reduce their emotional tension so that they can think more clearly. By stopping gambling for a while, they can realize that what they are doing in gambling is enough and must end immediately. Maybe achieving success in gambling is about how we can control ourselves well in gambling so that we don't experience more losses. It is very important to pay attention to ourselves when gambling so that we can manage to spend money on gambling. Meanwhile, winning from gambling is a bonus because we don't know when we can win from gambling, so don't force yourself too much.

Maslow's pyramid affects everyone differently, depending on the conditions in which a person is born, and accordingly, what his needs are. For the rich, born in successful countries, the only problem is often to find new sensations, because they are provided with food. And in pursuit of new emotions, they (not all of them, of course) begin to play uncontrollably in casinos, or engage in any other type of gambling. At the same time, those who were born in poor countries take life seriously. They have no time to have fun, they make themselves a tool for finding resources - money.

I like the way you pointed that out, those who raise in a modern community with food and shelter that already been established and there's nothing that they needed in terms of material things, they are prone to explore and seek for more adventures in life, and once they step forward and use gambling as part of their entertainment things will start ruining their lives, not generilzing as they are some of those rich people who can manage it well and make more money out from this venue, some may venture inside this business while others will use that money to find the advantages.
It turns out that the organizers of the gambling business are getting rich from poor and middle class people. Which exactly fits into the expression: “Over time, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.” Gambling is part of this. If there is a small number of bets, it is still possible for an ordinary player to be in profit, but with a sufficiently large number (about 1000), loss is almost guaranteed. Therefore, I rarely place bets and only to get a little more pleasure from supporting my favorite team.

As for successful players, they must love the game so much that they will use the slightest advantages to win. Simply put, they are not drug addicts, but they are close to it.

Well this topic is quite long and can be considered as a great teaching, it is obvious that a person who is in the casino all the time gets some experience and many ways of playing, perhaps success lies in winning and not losing so much money For me success is in earning money, for me that is what matters and that is how I measure the degree of success of a person, there is no other, however when we take into consideration everything that can happen, It is very strange when a person dedicates themselves to this and only wins, I have not met it, I do know that there must be people like that in the world, but I do not know them, I am a person who is open to saying that I know they exist but I don't know where they are, maybe they don't even play in online casinos, but they exist, and this taking into consideration that the successful player is the one who always takes his good profits.

I also know that there are people who are stuck in the casino all day and that's how they live, they eat, they drink, the only thing they can't do is sleep, but I know that people who are addicted to gambling would like not to sleep and stay in a casino, this It is what I call being a person dedicated to the game, I have also read that there are people who are in a casino all the time and who do not leave there until they obtain profits, the truth is I admire them, but I think it is a job ( If what they do can be called a job) 'Well, the truth is that it is something that I admire, but I will never consider playing in a casino that is a job or a means of income because it is most likely that it will fail, that it will not happen good instances are reached, that is why I believe that things can be taken as a means so that it can be taken to a level of error and a casino can be called a means of entertainment, something that a casino was generally created for adult entertainment where adults They have control of what they do, what they spend and their actions.

The gambling doesn’t allow the gamblers to get addicted to the game, the uncontrolled behaviour of the gambler will make them gambling addicted person. The loss was not the accepted by most of the people,so they do the target of the loss.So they fail to chase the algorithm of the gambling sites by allowing the emotions to make their betting in gambling. The success can be archived by the hard work in the gambling and trading. So the gambler should ready to do hard work by allot of the time to the gambling analysis of each game. The most important one gambler should not change their tactics at the middle of the game.
This means that gamblers must be able to control their behavior so they can control themselves when gambling. They must be able to accept the losses they have experienced from gambling and always try to prevent gambling addiction so that they can enjoy gambling as entertainment. They don't need to chase another victory, especially if they have already got it, because that can make their emotions run high and they won't be able to control themselves anymore. Maybe a gambler's success is when he is able to control himself well so that he doesn't experience any problems from gambling. Indeed, some people can earn income from gambling, but that does not mean they are successful people from gambling because they can lose self-control if they cannot manage their emotions well.
Its not just about controlling behavior; its about understanding the psychology behind it. Gambling involves risk and reward, a delicate balance that can quickly tilt. I wish I could have posted this in a more better place but since the thoughts came from gambling addiction, I thought it wise to ask this question over here and I hope we can discuss and get this straight.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

Many successful gamblers have strange habits, which are most likely the initial stage of deviations, including uncontrolled gambling. For example, a successful professional player from Canada, Ben “NeverScaredB” Wilinofsky, won many tournaments worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, but it turned out that he always lived in an attic in a dirty room. Then it turned out that he had severe depression - and Ben underwent therapy, after which he began to feel much better.

For many, this state of affairs may seem strange, but as it turns out, success and poor internal state are not mutually exclusive, and huge amounts on deposit are not able to heal the inner world. You need to reflect and work on yourself, then each player will not have addiction, and there will be complete harmony with himself.

Yes agree with this not all gamblers are addicted to a particular game. But there are many gamblers who has successful in gambling because they are too lucky to win the jockpot and become a millionaire, but most of the time  we see nowadays that being a successful gambler is too hard cause we can not predict the outcome of our bet. So nowadays there are more addict in gambler who failed and loss a lot of money than those Gambler who are being successful.

I agree with @cafter on this one: how successful one is at gambling does not define their gambling habit. What makes one addicted is when they lose total control over their own decisions. I mean, you can’t stop chasing losses, you can’t keep a healthy bankroll, there is no daily spending limit, you gamble at all, and everywhere you feel like gambling, even in times that you need to do other things.

There is no doubt that there are those who are making it in gambling and are living responsibly. Those people are people who have trained themselves not only to make wise betting decisions but also to be skilled in aspects of game selection backed up by luck, which makes them win big. Their success is a matter of hard work and practice, and it’s not as a result of their addiction.

They need to take that time not always pure luck but also dedication to find the way in locating the advantage, those successful gamblers did not get that in an instant unless the luck is by winning the lottery jackpot they can really change the whole financial status by winning one huge pot money, but in terms of gambling continually it not as easy as we think it can there are many losses to suffer before figuring out the right settings and the right pattern to use.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

my answer is no because being good at gambling means you have practiced and learned how to play well, like getting good at a specific game.
Addiction, on the other side, means you can not able to stop doing something even when it causes problems. some good gamblers might look like they have addiction problems, but not all of them do.
It's about how much control they have and how gambling affects their life. To call a successful gambler an addict will be depend on how they relate to gambling and how it affects their life.

I agree with @cafter on this one: how successful one is at gambling does not define their gambling habit. What makes one addicted is when they lose total control over their own decisions. Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?
At this point, I no longer understand what you mean by a addict, so, some clarifications will be highly appreciated.

From my understanding,  an addict to something be it drugs, gambling or any other thing, is someone who lacks the ability to apply self control or maintain decorum and end of doing something that hurt himself or others in the course of doing a particular thing. It will be hard for a gambling addict to be a successful gambler because the decisions of an addict are heavily irrational.

Therefore, a successful gambler is a successful gambler and not an addict
I agree, in order to succeed and become a professional gambler a great deal of self-control needs to be exercised by a gambler in order to only take the best possible odds and do so at the right time, while they also manage their money in a conservative manner.

And anyone that had some kind of problem controlling themselves and how they gamble will never have any chance of becoming a professional gambler, since they will make major mistakes along their journey which will never allow them to do this.
From almost everything I’ve read so far, it seems when you’re financially ok and still gamble heavily then you’re not an addict but rather a professional but when you gamble and make severe losses then you’re tagged an addict
And this is supposed to be a wake up call for us to always try as much as possible to stay productive in whatever we choose to do and yes one thing professional gamblers has that an addict doesn’t have is the ability to know when to stop and when not and as a gambler, we should try as much as possible to know when to stop and uphold strictly the law of only using more we can afford to lose to gamble as no one will be held responsible for your loss.
Yes indeed in this case a professional gambler has quite good control and a very strong commitment which will not be able to turn him into a gambling addict and on the one hand compared to gambling addicts they are definitely much worse because from the start before becoming addicted they failed to control themselves and ignoring any advice from other people and only following the emotions that always dominate his mind.
So if you say that gambling addicts don't know when to stop, that's what makes a gambler addicted.
But even though a professional gambler has greater commitment and knows when to stop, he is still not a successful gambler because of the fact that to this day he is still gambling.

You've definitely learned a lot about the gambling business. Unfairly, the house always wins. These companies are taking advantage of people's hopes and dreams. As a result of gambling, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Absolutely, there is a chance for the player to win with a small number of bets. But, as you correctly pointed out, the odds are against the player as the number of bets goes up

It's not often that I gamble, and when I do, I'm very careful. Not only is it about the money, but also about getting the hang of the method. To be a good player, they need to love the game, be determined to win, and know how to play well. The way they're dedicated is almost to the point of obsession, but they're not junkies. Patterns, odds, and knowing when to give up are all things they study. There is a thin line that they walk. Not only are they playing the game, but they are also playing the system

I definitely agree with this.

The house always wins. Whether you won or not, it's still the casino's win because you made a bet and played which is their main goal - to engage you from gambling. And the moment they fulfilled that, it's a win on their end. You shed out money to gamble. Not only you, but there are many people that are gambling as well. Despite betting a small amount, every losses on the player's side is a good thing for them. And those collective small losses can be a huge amount too when accumulated.

If ever you do win after playing for a short amount of time then proceed to exit, you can say that you've "won", but technically, the casino still benefited from you. It's still a business after all. They wouldn't be existing if it's not profitable. Those people who managed to win and quit right away are outliers, the lucky ones. But there are very few of them compared to those who suffered from so many losses before winning.
And because we already know that the casino will always win, we must try to limit ourselves so as not to lose a lot because if many gamblers lose a lot of money, that means the casino's profits will be even greater. Unfortunately, there are more greedy gamblers who want bigger wins, so they don't care about anything else and just want to win big from gambling.
