You've definitely learned a lot about the gambling business. Unfairly, the house always wins. These companies are taking advantage of people's hopes and dreams. As a result of gambling, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Absolutely, there is a chance for the player to win with a small number of bets. But, as you correctly pointed out, the odds are against the player as the number of bets goes up

It's not often that I gamble, and when I do, I'm very careful. Not only is it about the money, but also about getting the hang of the method. To be a good player, they need to love the game, be determined to win, and know how to play well. The way they're dedicated is almost to the point of obsession, but they're not junkies. Patterns, odds, and knowing when to give up are all things they study. There is a thin line that they walk. Not only are they playing the game, but they are also playing the system

I definitely agree with this.

The house always wins. Whether you won or not, it's still the casino's win because you made a bet and played which is their main goal - to engage you from gambling. And the moment they fulfilled that, it's a win on their end. You shed out money to gamble. Not only you, but there are many people that are gambling as well. Despite betting a small amount, every losses on the player's side is a good thing for them. And those collective small losses can be a huge amount too when accumulated.

If ever you do win after playing for a short amount of time then proceed to exit, you can say that you've "won", but technically, the casino still benefited from you. It's still a business after all. They wouldn't be existing if it's not profitable. Those people who managed to win and quit right away are outliers, the lucky ones. But there are very few of them compared to those who suffered from so many losses before winning.

Maslow's pyramid affects everyone differently, depending on the conditions in which a person is born, and accordingly, what his needs are. For the rich, born in successful countries, the only problem is often to find new sensations, because they are provided with food. And in pursuit of new emotions, they (not all of them, of course) begin to play uncontrollably in casinos, or engage in any other type of gambling. At the same time, those who were born in poor countries take life seriously. They have no time to have fun, they make themselves a tool for finding resources - money.

I like the way you pointed that out, those who raise in a modern community with food and shelter that already been established and there's nothing that they needed in terms of material things, they are prone to explore and seek for more adventures in life, and once they step forward and use gambling as part of their entertainment things will start ruining their lives, not generilzing as they are some of those rich people who can manage it well and make more money out from this venue, some may venture inside this business while others will use that money to find the advantages.
It turns out that the organizers of the gambling business are getting rich from poor and middle class people. Which exactly fits into the expression: “Over time, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.” Gambling is part of this. If there is a small number of bets, it is still possible for an ordinary player to be in profit, but with a sufficiently large number (about 1000), loss is almost guaranteed. Therefore, I rarely place bets and only to get a little more pleasure from supporting my favorite team.

As for successful players, they must love the game so much that they will use the slightest advantages to win. Simply put, they are not drug addicts, but they are close to it.

It seems to me that at worse we could call professional gamblers as being obsessed with their favorite sport, but I do not think there is anything wrong with that, since those that show great performance on their fields of choice are all obsessed with it.

However this is very difficult to do in gambling as we have everything against us, and I will always encourage people to not even try since the costs of failure are too high and it could take quite some time to recover from it.

That's right, casinos are created to make money (for the company) not to give money to those players who can spend all their money with the aim of doubling money. The gambling players who make the croupier rich by indirectly giving money to the croupier but by passing a game that is considered to double money, it is true that gambling can double money but it does not always happen, because the percentage of success is very small. So in my opinion, you can be sure that what they get is only losing not winning. Because even the bookie who created the casino doesn't want to lose. Even though I think everyone knows that gambling is just a game not a place to make money, but there are still many who misinterpret it, by making it the main income in life so that it can have a fatal negative impact, in contrast to people who consider it just for entertainment, with self-control so they can limit the game and not bring addiction to gambling. Many people think that gambling can make you rich in a short time, that's true but if you are "lucky", if there is no luck on your side, it won't happen, it will only make you miserable because you are chasing a win that promises to make you rich quickly. So in my opinion it all depends on luck, even though they play only every weekend if they are lucky, they will get a big win not by playing it every time.
That's why we as gamblers must realize that we don't need to gamble with a lot of money because, after all, we will experience risks or get various kinds of problems from gambling. And as gamblers, we must be able to control the use of money for gambling so that we don't lose at gambling and we can also prevent the biggest problems that can be experienced by gamblers, where we can experience gambling addiction. Just let other gamblers use more money to gamble because at least we have to be responsible for ourselves for all the problems that can arise, especially since we have to be able to take care of ourselves while gambling. And it is true that many gamblers still think about making a profit from gambling so they continue to gamble in casinos and use more money. If people realize that they don't need to gamble excessively, they can also get rid of this problem of gambling addiction, which more and more people are already experiencing. At least we have to pay attention to ourselves so that we don't experience the early symptoms of gambling addiction so that we can use gambling as entertainment.

All that is because they are feeling the luck is on their side so even if they win they are likely to continue the game because this is an opportunity for them to increase the value of the bet so that it can produce a bigger win even though the final result is losing hahaha. As you said it is not easy to get a win back in the next round, even though it is clear from before that victory is difficult to get but those who insist on getting a very large win, maybe their goal is to take over the casino that way they will feel satisfaction if they have taken everything in the casino hahaha this is ridiculous I think they are chasing something that does not exist by sacrificing a lot of money to get it, even though even small wins are difficult to get let alone for big wins.
As you said "gambling machines cannot be defeated" in my opinion everyone knows that one of these games has been arranged by the sibandar to be able to benefit the bookie and not benefit the player, it's just that maybe they didn't think about it so they just ignored it. In the event that you've got a lot of money to spend, you'll be able to't afford to spend a lot more than you need to, and you'll be able to't afford to spend more than you need to.
They may think that luck is with them but in reality, they don't know if their luck has even left those who have started to experience defeat. And if they don't immediately realize that their luck has run out, they will only experience more losses and not be able to win, even if it is a small win. Some gamblers immediately increase the amount of their bets when they feel like they are on a losing streak because they think that by increasing the amount of their bets, they can double the amount of money if they win. Again, they were wrong because they still couldn't get a win and only experienced more losses. This often happens to gamblers and unfortunately, not many people can immediately realize that what they are doing is wrong and only makes them slowly become addicted to gambling. We won't be able to beat the casino because the casino owns the gambling business, but we can reduce the number of losses with strict discipline so that we don't lose too much. That's all we can do to reduce losses and avoid gambling addiction.

In general, those who succeed in controlling themselves are usually trained people. in other words, they have become part of the professional gamblers. They have been equipped with various knowledge specifically about gambling, especially what I know for professional gamblers in the field of poker. As for successful gamblers, they are not necessarily professionals. Also, it is not certain that successful gamblers are truly able to control themselves when gambling. Let's take an example, for example, someone recklessly gambles and risks all the money they have. Uniquely, they succeeded in winning their bets and became very rich. However, the meaning of the word success has a broad definition. Usually, success is attributed to success in certain fields. can do business, trade, or anything like that.

Well, what's interesting about this thread is what defines success in gambling. whether it is in professional gamblers. or,. because for me, the title of this thread is a little ambiguous.
As for what you said in this post, perhaps there are gamblers who are successful because they are able to control themselves when carrying out gambling sessions. It could also be that they are more aware and alert to things that can have an impact on addiction. Unfortunately, it's not as easy as what we say or even discuss. Success in gambling has a slightly biased definition. In my opinion, even if so, the impact of addiction always has the potential for everyone who enjoys this hobby. But this will be different for professional gamblers, who have been equipped with the special knowledge and skills they have learned. that's why, there are more amateur gamblers than professionals. So, in principle, we can find out and learn so that we don't get addicted. In principle, the meaning of this thread refers to gambling addiction.
If those who have not been trained are willing to continue learning to control themselves, they also have the opportunity to master good self-control because they can have it. It is only a matter of time before they can truly master self-control, and even though it may take longer, it is still worth doing because it is all for their own good. They can control themselves while gambling because all people or professionals who already have self-control also start from the beginning they continue to practice it until they get used to it. And even those who have mastered it can still lose self-control while they gamble because the temptation to gamble will get bigger and they can end up losing self-control.

Of course, they are more aware and alert to things that can have an impact on gambling addiction so they still try to control themselves and don't want to experience the problems that many gamblers have faced. They know that once they are addicted to gambling, it will be difficult to cure it so they really try hard to take care of themselves while gambling. Professional gamblers are indeed better able to protect themselves when playing gambling because they have more ability, knowledge, and skills than most gamblers so they can still survive and prevent gambling addiction from happening to them.

It is true that it is difficult to get a big win even I can make sure there will not be a big win that they can get because basically gambling has been arranged by insiders where gambling is created to make money for the company not to give money to the players. Although there are some people who consider it as entertainment but more people who make the main presence for them so that they can sacrifice all their money and property for gambling, all of that is useless if there is no luck that leads to them. With greed they can spend all the money they have even when they win if greed appears the victory will not last long. It is true that you said that they must understand the awareness not to chase victory in total.
It doesn't take an insider to realize that in gambling, our chances of winning will not be greater than in a casino because the casino is the one that owns the business, and they are the ones who will get the most wins or profits. We as ordinary gamblers, can only enjoy gambling as we should without any thought of winning a lot of money. And if we win, we should consider it as a bonus from the casino and after that, we should be able to stop gambling because the results may not be what we want. And yes, we will only become more greedy if we continue gambling after getting that win to use up all our money.

So in my opinion it all depends on luck, even though they play only every weekend if they are lucky, they will get a big win not by playing it every time.

Yes it is. but only a few people can do that, most of what I see when they win they don't stop but continue playing by increasing the value of the bet bigger. The risk that they will get may lose all their winnings that have been obtained and return to having no money and repeating the game from the beginning continues like that until there is no end. It's important to know that you're not going to be able to get the most out of the game if you don't have a lot of time to play. But it's hard to beat a machine that has been set up, and there is also no pattern or trick to beat the bookie because there are no rules, the bookie will experience defeat and big losses. So only luck will favor someone when gambling the rest they must be able to control themselves so as not to fall deeper into gambling. I myself only play on my weekends of course with the aim of entertainment but if the feeling of wanting to win is definitely there, because everyone must want a big profit hahaha.
I also see a tendency towards this where gamblers who have won do not realize that they will not be able to win easily in the next round but still force themselves to gamble even until their money runs out. A wise gambler will not continue gambling if they see that they have no chance of winning and they will prefer to stop gambling and continue it another day. It will be better for him because he can prevent himself from getting addicted to gambling and losing more money if we force him to continue gambling. We cannot beat gambling machines, but we can control ourselves so that we don't lose too much and that is the job of every gambler so that they don't lose too much and can avoid problems that will arise later. When they become addicted to gambling, it means other problems will arise and it can disrupt their life if they cannot realize their gambling addiction.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?
At this point, I no longer understand what you mean by a addict, so, some clarifications will be highly appreciated.

From my understanding,  an addict to something be it drugs, gambling or any other thing, is someone who lacks the ability to apply self control or maintain decorum and end of doing something that hurt himself or others in the course of doing a particular thing. It will be hard for a gambling addict to be a successful gambler because the decisions of an addict are heavily irrational.

Therefore, a successful gambler is a successful gambler and not an addict
Gamblers can also be addicted and according to my understanding addiction is anything that is difficult for you to stop even though it is already destroying you, for example destroying your finances, destroying your health or also destroying your relationships with those closest to you, so addiction is not just about drugs, and usually the beginning of addiction is when you can't control yourself so you don't have limits on how long you play, how much money you have to spend for gambling and so on and when you continue to not be able to control yourself then you will fall into an addiction where you always think about gambling even though you no longer have any money and have to do other things, but a successful gambler cannot be said to be an addict, for example a person who wins a large amount in the lottery does not succeed because he is addicted, even though he regularly buys lottery tickets, but as long as it is based on ability then that is fine.

I agree, in order to succeed and become a professional gambler a great deal of self-control needs to be exercised by a gambler in order to only take the best possible odds and do so at the right time, while they also manage their money in a conservative manner.

And anyone that had some kind of problem controlling themselves and how they gamble will never have any chance of becoming a professional gambler, since they will make major mistakes along their journey which will never allow them to do this.
From almost everything I’ve read so far, it seems when you’re financially ok and still gamble heavily then you’re not an addict but rather a professional but when you gamble and make severe losses then you’re tagged an addict
And this is supposed to be a wake up call for us to always try as much as possible to stay productive in whatever we choose to do and yes one thing professional gamblers has that an addict doesn’t have is the ability to know when to stop and when not and as a gambler, we should try as much as possible to know when to stop and uphold strictly the law of only using more we can afford to lose to gamble as no one will be held responsible for your loss.

Yes but did you get the point of the example I provided? When do you think is a gambler successful? And addicted gamblers can also be lucky and have some least amount of control over their activities and stay in profit. This debate has the problem that we differentiate between successful and unsuccessful gamblers without saying who is who. If a gambler strategically wins 300 out of 500 rounds, ending up with a profit is compared to a gambler who loses 499 out of 500 rounds but cracks the jackpot and is with millions in profit whereas the steady winner is slightly in profit, who is more successful?

The successful gambler means, the people think who had big win from the gambling site. But the fact is the gambler who can had a potential to hold after the big loss from the gambling site.He need not do the continuous deposit till their holding money had loss. The beak before the bridge broken completely was the important in the gambling. If you had loss,no problem you can earn the same dollars in the future. But you need to keep your mind very patience. So your emotion was controlled in the gambling,So the gambler who had this capacity was the successful gambler in my point of view for the successful gambler.

Exactly! It's not required for a successful gambler to be successful every time they gamble, it's just that they shouldn't lose any money to the house ever, by which I mean that when they lose, they should gamble some other time and win enough that recovers what they had lost previously. And, it's not possible to find such gamblers very often, maybe one out of a million be able to achieve that, gambling for years and not losing anything to the casino at all.
We rarely find the criteria for successful gamblers because most gamblers do not follow gambling rules to handle the risk of losing and gamble without responsibility. Successful gamblers focus on achieving certain betting profits and after achieving profits they will withdraw the profits so they do not force themselves to gamble every day to avoid the risk of loss. . However, if they are experiencing losses they will analyze the previous game strategy and if they are hesitant to continue betting the next session then they will cut losses to avoid higher losses, they will recover losses on gambling on another day.

Quote
An addicted gambler on the other hand will barely be able to win anything, they will always lose everything they have, even if they manage to win something sometime, they will eventually lose it back to the house due to either greed or the hope of recovering previous losses which never happens.
Gambling addicts will gamble without considering the impact of losses, they gamble according to greed to achieve high profits but they rarely withdraw profits, instead they keep gambling until they lose everything.

Basically, in some way successful gamblers are quite the opposite of what gambling addicts are. Successful gamblers mostly strategize and limits their bets to minimize loses and maximizing odds for it to be on their favor which is the reason as to why they are successful on their gambling endeavors. But just as successful gamblers are, gambling addicts can also be as responsible as successful gambler however they lack the strategy to maximize their profit and continue gambling even with continuous loses.
No one would accept he's a gambling addicts, mere looking at the physical qualities, everything will turn out to be more obvious in the system. Losses and wins are viable outcomes in gambling, and everyone in the room has their own goals to pursue. We all record losses, but we make certain that our losses do not exceed our winning ratio in the system. Addicts are not the same as successful gamblers who do not use disciplinary methods to achieve their primary goals. Successful gamblers have tactics in place and are eager to accumulate significant profits from the system.
Well said. But there is a limited number of winners in the system, and if there are many professionals and almost no recreational players, then some of them will begin to lose and ultimately these losses can affect him and knock him out of disciplinary balance. This may prompt him to relapse and become a drug addict, looking for someone to borrow money from for gambling in order to win back. I saw something similar in the movie "Molly's Game". What I mean is that the line is very thin and to a very small extent I still consider professionals to be drug addicts.
Yes in a way that they don't want losing that they tend to think of how can they recover from the loss. In a way that they will seek out every possible way that they could think of in order to get back to the game. They can sell their properties or belongings to the point that when there's nothing left, it will affect their lifestyle, their sleeping habits, their eating habit, stressed emotionally, mentally, and physically.  Nothing is enough for them. They are drowning in their obsession of recovering.

The world is unfair, some people would dream of being born in a well-fed country without wars, but someone born in such a country manages to slide themselves to the very bottom.

This is not a question that is as easily answered as you just did because it should start with the definition of what a successful gambler is.

When someone gambles for 5 years and spends $100 per day gambling, that would make a total of $182,500 in cost. Now assume that he wins one huge jackpot of $2 million on one day within those 5 years. Is the person a successful gambler? What if that person had no strategy at all but someone with a strategy does not hit the jackpot in 5 years and only wins $100,000 in total, ending up with a loss?
I don't buy the idea that successful gamblers should be seen as gambling addicts because a whole lot of successful gamblers are people who are very strategic with their gambling activities instead of constant gambling which is the primary attributes of gambling addicts
Addicted gamblers are even unlikely to become successful through gambling because of the fact that they mostly gamble because of the they ain't mentally strong to do other things apart from gambling. They engage in it without being careful of how and when to gamble.

If they get to the point where the game affects their life so much that sleep is disturbed, and the search for food turns into begging or robbery, then we can confidently say that the person has crossed the red line. For him, the game became higher than primary needs. After this, there is a final step that I would not like to talk about, but the possessed person can do literally anything, this is called the very bottom. I wouldn’t even wish my enemy to bring to such a state, but that this is happening in the modern world is a fact.

The world is unfair, some people would dream of being born in a well-fed country without wars, but someone born in such a country manages to slide themselves to the very bottom.

Successful gamblers know when to stop and when to quit. Taking a break is never a sign of defeat. Sometimes you just really have to reflect on the things that you did - what went wrong or how you can do better, so that the next time around, you'll be achieving what you want.

You can’t be successful if you have no sense of timing. For you to be successful to be in anything, you need to be aware of the time as well as money spent in doing. If you seem to be spending a lot of time and money and it doesn’t seem to be productive, it’s best to leave it. In gambling, people spend a lot of time and money and it almost always doesn’t turn out productive.
Taking a break is a sign of being matured about your habits and knowing when it’s enough to stop. Like you noted, It helps in self reflection.

Now let's be sincere, will you also classify a successful gambler as an addict?

my answer is no because being good at gambling means you have practiced and learned how to play well, like getting good at a specific game.
Addiction, on the other side, means you can not able to stop doing something even when it causes problems. some good gamblers might look like they have addiction problems, but not all of them do.
It's about how much control they have and how gambling affects their life. To call a successful gambler an addict will be depend on how they relate to gambling and how it affects their life.

A gambling addict knows no boundaries. Meanwhile, a successful gambler knows his limitations and follows it so things won't go wrong. Overspending and allotting so much time just to bet and play without proper direction in mind and assessment of the risks are most commonly done by gambling addicts. They do not really care much about the repercussions and rather continue to play and bet as much as they like. They disregard thinking about the trajectory of their gameplays and just continuously chase winnings after winnings or losses. And that's a whole lot different to those people who have plans and strategies to be successful.

Successful gamblers know when to stop and when to quit. Taking a break is never a sign of defeat. Sometimes you just really have to reflect on the things that you did - what went wrong or how you can do better, so that the next time around, you'll be achieving what you want.
Right, I think that definition of a successful gambler is better than assuming they have to make money, because then almost no one would fit that description. Maybe the title of "responsible gambler" fits this description better.

In my head still I think that a successful gambler should have net positive money exchanged with the casino.

An addicted gambler on the other hand will barely be able to win anything, they will always lose everything they have, even if they manage to win something sometime, they will eventually lose it back to the house due to either greed or the hope of recovering previous losses which never happens.

Yes it is. but only a few people can do that, most of what I see when they win they don't stop but continue playing by increasing the value of the bet bigger.
