I don't agree that successful gamblers are addicts. why is that? because I still see some people who are even new to the world of gambling and immediately take the gambling chair. and at that moment he won the gambling. is that person an addict? I don't think so. they just got lucky and then left and never came back again at least not for a long time.

I think that if someone is successful at gambling he is definitely a gambling addict. but he is able to manage himself well, whether financially, mentally or whatever is related to gambling, but there are gambling activities that cannot be abandoned, and also has advantages that might be said to be that he is able to steal money from gambling, for example like playing card games. Basically, it is more logical for someone who has ability in the game to then have a good win rate so that they can be said to be successful in gambling.

Once you do able to reach out that state that you do become that a successful gambler then pretty sure that basically means that you have already make yourself that able to recover or passed up
that on being addicted on which same as you said that you have already made yourself  that being experienced and been wary on the things that you've been able to experience out.
This is why i do believe that once you do reach out into that point that you are already that successful in the field of gambling or something that it is really that sustainable then
it does mean that you are really that indeed doing well.

The gambler should learn to know the basic concepts of risk handling in the gambling site, because risk is their in gambling and trading. But people only portraits of the gambling compared to the trading was the questionable one.The gambling addicted person never worry about the risk, because they try to make the millions of dollars from the gambling sites. So every hundred dollars are their investment for the big winning in the gambling site. The successful gamblers will start the business using the winning money,So they never worry about the gamblers words on themselves.Only the gamblers will blame them with the jealous on their big money winning in the gambling sites.

True, they have to learn risk management very well because after all the risks in gambling cannot be completely avoided, sometimes even people who already have good self-control and boundaries are still quite difficult to avoid all the temptations that are there so that they end up overdoing it and even suffer a lot of losses, On the other hand I think for people who are already addicted one of the reasons they don't care about possible risks is because they are too confident in the chances of winning, assuming and hallucinating that every time they want to gamble they feel that they will be one of the lucky ones so they can't limit their gambling at all and what they do is the opposite, gambling without having any limits.

People who are already addicted are too focused on winning and think that gambling is a quick way for them to become rich, when in fact the opposite is always the case, the number of losses slowly increases until they finally lose all their money. I think successful gamblers are those who can always manage and maintain their gambling activities well and not overdo it because they realize that there is absolutely no certainty in gambling, that's what they always think so they emphasize self-control and limits for prevention.

Agree When a person becomes addicted to gambling, no matter how much he profits or how much he loses, he cannot stop gambling. So in this case, he will not be able to keep his profit, on the other hand, if he loses, he will not hesitate to gamble by borrowing money. And they are called successful gamblers who can make a lot of profit from gambling and enjoy the money of that profit. They can stop gambling in time and control themselves so successful gamblers can never become addicted to gambling.
That's true I would like to also agree with you on this point that winning a big jackpot shouldn't be called a successful gambler because there are many addicted gambler who make million dollars at once and also lose those million at once. So successful gambler those gambler who can control their emotions and greediness when doing gambling.

A successful gambler has experienced gambling techniques and figured methods that works gambling not centered in any way on winning money alone. Responsible gamblers doesn't bother about the money, they only realized the effectiveness of self control in gambling. When a gambler is capable of mastering self control he'll be closely in touch with being a successful gambler. On the view of non gambler, a gambler who spends most of his time gambling is addicted. In the gambling industry few amongst gambler would think like the non gambler, he's seen that addiction is not close to how long the gambler bets each day. Not all the gamblers are close to behaving like addicts who can't hold on their decision, and wagers all his money on a single bet. Such people are addicted.

If they are getting positive returns on what they're doing, they wouldn't be called as addicts but more of a professional. If they, however, aren't getting anything from what they're doing, they wouldn't be branded as an addict that fast. If they are really in the 'no hope zone' wherein they are already selling a lot of things to satisfy their gambling needs, perhaps you can call those ones the addicts which will do anything and everything just to get their fill.
Even though gamblers are getting positive returns and they gambles consistently they all a gambler from my perspective, secondly a gambler who gambling everyday without any gain will not be committed in gambling like someone who has gambled before, secondly I know quite well that whosoever that gambles and profit comes out of it will like to be gambling consistently in order to continue making profits through gambling and what makes people to be addicted in gambling is the money they have already made and they wish to get same and they will not know when they will be addicted..regular gambling is addiction of gambling either you make profit or not.

I don't think those successful gamblers are addicted to gambling because, the way they spend time in calculating the games that will come through and the ones that will not come through you will know that they have the wisdom in gambling. If you see addicted gamblers you will know them because even though they win they will still spend the money on gambling and they will not go home with any money.

Successful gamblers just have that skills of remain successful in their gambling because they are use to some particular sports that they have idea of what will happen when they bet.

All they want is to continue gambling indefinitely, there is an alternative that they can take to prevent them from losing by playing on a demo account, but on the other hand they don't want that because there is no seriousness in terms of the sensation they feel, on the other hand as we know that winning and losing is the final result that will occur at the end of the session, for people who still have good awareness and common sense maybe they will prefer to cash out when the situation is really getting a win, But for someone who has entered the second phase of addiction, the results at the end of the session will be an indication for the next stage, what I mean is that if they win then they will be greedy because they want to get a much larger amount and vice versa if they lose they are usually unable to accept reality and finally gamble based on emotions with the aim of pursuing something that has been lost.

So in those two situations the addicted gambler will never feel good, always greedy and never satisfied, and it is a cycle that will continue to occur indefinitely as long as they are still gambling. On the other hand, it is true that successful gamblers are those who can control everything well, when winning prefer to cash out and enjoy and when losing do not act out of control, the point is they have good control.

I don't really believe on being addicted forever by one use.

There's also the difference between behavioral addiction and chemical, quite different when you make something a habit than when your body could breakdown due to stop of using one substance
long term heroin users, as an example, can't simply stop using it out of nowhere otherwise they breakdown, at least I saw something about it in the past

regarding using cannabis once,
what if you use it once a week? what about alcohol? a drink a day is ok?

the subject of frequency of use varies a lot from person to person and is quite subjective as well
connects with genetics, behavior, culture, resistance to each substance or how it affects you

quite interesting.

The gambler mostly get addicted into the gambling site, this was the hot topic most of the time in the forum.Because the impact of the addicted person will be negative, they will fight with the family members for the money to do gambling. The gambler should do the own saving for the gambling game, this was the primary reason for the gambler to get away from the gambling addiction. If you control yourself in the gambling, then you are free from the gambling addiction.Because the gambling addiction can’t be cured with the short period of time.So the gambler use the free money for the gambling will not affect their real life.

It actually heppend if you are gambler  no one can be a successful gambler in one day or in limited time. If you want to be a successful ful gambler you need dedication practice etc after all of that end of the day you become successful but after all of that a person fully addected with gambling. After addected in gambling no one wants to leave because it's easy money bro and fully addected. That's the reason no one want to leave it after being successful in gambling.

curious thought pill for the day:
if an addicted gambler (who can't stop gambling, do it everyday and avoid doing good things in life to stay gambling) is profitable and chooses to live like that
is it addiction after all?
I like to think about this and other related things, helps to understand the world better

If a person fully addected with gambling then the person can't left it easyly. For that reason in our country in slum area the illiterate people's play psychical gambling. They are not well educated they play just for earn that's the reason they do illigali work and avoid good work for money. You are right gambler avoid ligal work when they suffer from money problem. Don't know about other country it happened in our country.

That is a very mature thought because winning and success in gambling cannot be measured by the number of wins you get, especially by getting the jackpot, again I am talking about this, that actually gambling is not just about making money and not always talking about how to be successful. In gambling, getting the jackpot is not a success that we can beat the dealer, we must be aware that we may lose far more than we win.

Gamblers who are still immature only think that success can be measured by the number of wins they get, for example getting a jackpot and then using the money to play again at gambling, it is certain that the winning money will disappear and run out again, there is no real win that we get in gambling because actually we are circulating money from all other users, it is true what you say that success is if we can control ourselves when gambling because not everyone can do it. Successfully avoiding gambling addiction is also called success. That's why people always think they are successful because they win at gambling and get the jackpot. People always see them as addicts.  Grin

It is also an addiction because we will return to gambling, especially since we feel happy when we play it.
We don't think much about the possibility of winning or losing that will be the result because we want to gamble in our spare time. And if that's what you think, you are addicted but you only gamble when you are free.
This means that you can still control yourself and determine when you will gamble, and you don't have to gamble immediately without thinking about whether you have free time or busy time.
If someone is happy with gambling, in my opinion, they are addicted to gambling, because with the pleasure of gambling, they will always do gambling, which obviously makes them happy, but I can't imagine how they can be happy with gambling, if by getting a win obviously it makes them happy, but not forever and not forever they will get a win at gambling. because in my opinion, in gambling there are losses and wins, while the possibility of losing is more dominant to always get at the end of the game.

That's right, if they gamble only in their spare time that means they are addicted to gambling, but on the other hand they can still control themselves because they gamble only in their spare time. that's good,  because in my opinion if there is someone who is addicted to gambling like this they will easily leave their gambling addiction, because they still have good self-control, by being able to manage themselves gambling only in their spare time.
Liking gambling may be an early sign of gambling addiction, so he needs to be wary of it. He must be able to reduce his gambling activities if he doesn't want to get too deep and cause a lot of problems for him.
By gambling, they can express their feelings. When they win, they can express their joy. When they lose, they can also feel the moment of defeat.
As long as they still control themselves when gambling, I think that's okay because what is important is being able to control themselves when gambling. Many people have lost control of themselves, so they have to be really able to control themselves.
If they feel that they are starting to want to recover their losses, they should immediately stop gambling. There is no need to continue gambling because that can trigger more losses.

if you can deal well with something that is hard and maybe addictive, if it makes you happy and you make money and it's not a problem for you... is it an addiction?
that's a really interesting topic that can get quite deep, I'd be curious to hear more people's opinions on this

what do you think?
It is also an addiction because we will return to gambling, especially since we feel happy when we play it.
We don't think much about the possibility of winning or losing that will be the result because we want to gamble in our spare time. And if that's what you think, you are addicted but you only gamble when you are free.

That's right, if they gamble only in their spare time that means they are addicted to gambling, but on the other hand they can still control themselves because they gamble only in their spare time. that's good,  because in my opinion if there is someone who is addicted to gambling like this they will easily leave their gambling addiction, because they still have good self-control, by being able to manage themselves gambling only in their spare time.

yes, that's true, if gambling could really give you easy wins, then there would be many people who would already be gambling and maybe gambling would have a positive perspective because it could make profits easily, but in reality gambling will only make someone addicted which can cost them money. all the money they have and maybe their savings too which they can use for gambling. With so many people nowadays gambling, I'm sure many of them will experience losses instead of getting profitable wins.

Is there perhaps a way to continue making profits from gambling? I think gambling only relies on luck, because in my opinion gambling is a paid game based on chance, where if we are lucky we can win, and if we don't have luck we will lose by losing the money we have. and if there was an accurate way to get continuous profits from gambling, perhaps many people would have won at gambling and there wouldn't be many rumors about gambling addiction or the negative impact of gambling, or anything else that is negative about gambling.

The gambler who want to win in the gambling site should be patience in the gambling site,So in some days the game will change to the favour of the gamblers. The gambler should learn the game completely before the gambling site favour the gamblers. The skills towards the game was the important one in the gambling site,So the gamblers should allocate the specific duration of time to the development of the gambling skills. The continuous loss also give more knowledge to the gamblers in the long run,he never forgot the knowledge which he earned at the time of the loss in the gambling site.
Depends on what type of gambling you are really that dealing with on which if you are really speaking about those dice and roulette games then there's no learning that you can get from that
or into those luck based games on which in compare into those sports betting then you can really learn something from it. In the essence or in talks about being an addict then this is where
people do usually ends up on the time that they do make themselves already that too impulsive on the way they do bet not mattering on what type of gambling as
long the money that you are really that using which is really that more than on the amount that you can afford to lose, then this one do really signifies problem.

In my opinion, nowadays many of those who gamble only depend on luck, namely slot gambling, because it is easy to play so everyone can play it, many people nowadays play this gambling game because it is easy to access, especially with encouragement when This is a technological development that makes it easier for them to recognize luck-based gambling. However, the other thing is that many of those who gamble on this type of gambling experience big losses.
those who carry out this impulsive action may not be aware that what they are doing is harming themselves, and many of them gamble without being prepared to lose the money they bet, even though in my opinion it is clear that the gambling they do will most likely result in they lost their money. those who are not ready to lose their money will get them into trouble. so they become addicted to gambling, and in my opinion someone who is successful at gambling is rare to find, because it is difficult to win at gambling.

Here is an article about heroin addiction: https://drugabuse.com/drugs/heroin/first-time-use

The thing is that heroin is extremely powerful and intense.

So, after a user does it for the first time, depending on how it is done, how much, how pure, etc, the level of "happiness" or "feel good" they get might be higher than anything they have ever experienced in their lives.

So, a person can of course never try it again maybe. But nothing in their lives will ever compare to that moment. And every time they try again heroin it will be a bit less intense.

That's why they call it chasing the dragon.

This doesn't apply to other drugs such as coffee, cannabis, alcohol, etc, because their "happiness" levels are much lower than heroin and other opioids.

A successful gambler is rarely considered as addicted they are not fully addicted they have enough experience that they win gambling games and fall under the category of successful gamblers. Gamblers who cannot sustain success after winning become greedy and become addicted. Successful gamblers know enough about how to protect their funds. Gambling has been involved for a long time and their practice is very good. At the end of the day they are successful gamblers and do not have addiction problems due to proper practice.
It could be that successful gamblers do not experience addiction because they have experience in how to overcome addiction, which can come at any time. A successful gambler knows what to do when he has been gambling for a long time and he will choose to stop gambling rather than lose his money.
This is what differentiates successful gamblers from most gamblers because successful gamblers can overcome everything that would have a bad impact on them. They have more experience than most gamblers so they can decide what to do.

if you can deal well with something that is hard and maybe addictive, if it makes you happy and you make money and it's not a problem for you... is it an addiction?
that's a really interesting topic that can get quite deep, I'd be curious to hear more people's opinions on this

what do you think?
As I have always said, we must as a matter of fact state at what we mean by being a successful gambler. We know that any gambler is liable to be addicted, on this premise if a gambler has been gambling for so many years and yet is not addicted that person can be said to be successful.
Another angle of reasoning is what is meant by being successful. If a gambler is not addicted and yet he does not make money from gambling we cannot say that he is successful.
So, we can say that a newbie gambler who has no experience in gambling but it's lucky to win huge amount of money and turns to a millionaire overnight is successful. You can therefore understand that being successful in gambling is subjective.
Bro, your angle of reasoning is not from this planet as I see it, well, it takes beyond that to call any gambler a successful one. if you have been gambling for so long and can't leave it and keep gambling, how are you sure you are not addicted to it? Something you have been doing and love doing and keep doing and still do not have any plan to leave? But this doesn't stop the success in gambling just establishing a point. Addictions come in stages and in most cases, those who are addicted may not even know that they are, especially when it is not affecting their personal life or they can take care of the managerial aspects of teh account and themslves even amidst the addiction. As for success, no matter how long the person has been gambling and how active the gambler is, if he is not making consistent money to the point of having a record of more winning than losing, such can never be tagged a successful one. This issue of success in gambling is irrespective of the hurdles the person has to face, even as an addict and the person that some people tags bad, or generally referred to as an irresponsible gambler, if he manages to have more winning and keep it that way, then such is still a successful gambler.
