I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

How many of us are guilty of this?
The only period I stayed off gambling after a streak of losses is when my account is red I e when I completely depleted my betting fund, but in case of having some funds I still get back to gambling despite the heavy losses in a bid to recover my losses, unfortunately I do have mixed result at times more losses is incurred until I completely rekted my funds then I will take a break meanwhile on few occasions I do recover part of my losses, honestly I must confess I am also guilty of going back to gambling after losses it's just an addiction that I couldn't control or resist myself the adrenalin in me will always mount pressure on me to keep on gambling with the hope of quick recovery of my funds.

It is normal for you to return to gambling after promising not to gamble again after previous losses. Many people experience this because they remember their previous loss and want to recover from their loss. I have never promised again because I will return in a few days, even if I get a win at gambling. I thought the temptation of gambling was too strong to make me want to return, but I was lucky that I didn't come back the next day. It's not easy to leave gambling even after getting a win, but you can control yourself not to bet too often and that's what you have to do so you don't get other problems.
This is a very common thing and statement for those gamblers who have accepted defeat, because this is a form of frustration and despair. It's not strange that in the end they will do it again and defeat is the main thing that makes them sit back in the gambling chair in the hope that they can return their previous losses. Are you right in saying that you won't come back the next day when you already got the previous victory? I think there is little chance that it could happen, because most of them and maybe it is common knowledge that someone will do it again after getting a win. Winning will make someone more confident to do it and they see that they will be able to win it back the next day in the same way.

Yes, whenever I experienced losses from gambling, I will promise myself never to bet next day but some games will come up that will make me to go back to betting next day because I understood the two teams very well and I know the team that will win at the end of the match. Since then,  I don't promise myself to stop gambling when am loosing money than to force myself to stop gamble that very day and continue the next day, and the next day will be a better day that will make me to smile to recover all the losses I experienced. I don't think, it easy to leave gambling when you have achieved so much money from it, but I can take a break from gambling like one or two days before continue gamble.

I think all gamblers must experience this condition, especially those who have awareness in gambling games, surely they will feel guilty and regret because of the promise made violated by themselves.
Yes, and of course that kind of thing will be done by gamblers when they experience a big loss and it is no longer possible to be able to get back a number of wins to return the loss.
Lol there are many cases like this in the gambling sphere and they always unknowingly do the same thing every time they lose.
But it cannot be denied that when we experience defeat, there must be regret and a feeling of guilt arises in our hearts that we promise not to repeat gambling.

This is very normal to every gambler. It's like signing a contract with a devil that you can not be able to withdraw again. I can not tell the exact numbers of times I have vow not to ever gamble again but unfortunately I will go back again after few days of my break and that's how I realized that one can not fully abandon gambling once you're addicted unless you are just lucky.

Yes, it isn't easy to leave gambling especially if you're regularly seeing gambling ads and hearing news about your favorite upcoming team matches. It's hard to resist if we have a huge interest in certain games.
The same thing also happened to me. I have been unlucky and decided not to gamble for a short while but I still couldn't control my urge to bet at least occasionally. We can rest but if it has been a part of our routine, I don't think quitting will be easy. However, it is challenging and I believe it's also normal to stop for a while after we experienced losses which I think is a good time to take a break and rest so we'll be more emotionally prepared for our next gambling adventures.

I think all gamblers must experience this condition, especially those who have awareness in gambling games, surely they will feel guilty and regret because of the promise made violated by themselves.

At some point, in guilty before I was able to make a huge winnings; those wins took me time again before gambling because, of course, it's ideal not to be greedy in this kind of entertainment, or else you will lose most of your money. Before I came back again to play gambling, I said to myself that's enough for a month, but the joke came right there when I had extra money I tried my luck again to play of course keep hoping to win at the end, I lose that capital and take me now to stop gambling for a while and take time again when I feel confident to play.

It's important to stick to what you already decided on the very beginning to avoid losses in the future. If you already set your spending limitations, then follow it and don't go beyond it. If you find yourself craving to bet and play some more, remember the consequences of excessive and uncontrolled gambling habits - it can cost you your fund allocated for other important things. Going beyond what you intend to spend in leisure is a bad thing especially if becomes frequent. If you get lucky, sure it's a good news on your end. But what if you don't? Then you just made trouble and given yourself a headache.

The thing to control yourself and keep the promise is quite difficult, especially for someone who already has excessive addiction, but yes this will walk continuously if we start training it slowly, like the word moving from one place to another is the thing Difficult, it is necessary to have time to fail in fulfilling what is the goal, including in keeping promises in controlling or limiting gambling.

Maybe some of us have been found making vain promises concerning gambling and other things in life due to vain promises to later discover that we were unable to meet uo the conditions attached to the already spoken words, if we can do that to disappoint ourselves then how much much in doing that on others, we believe to have at a certain point in life some traces of weakness whereby we are vulnerable to, if you know yourself to fall under this same category or conditions then it's better not to engage promisng others when you have not achieved or arrived at the results first.

This really sucks. I had the same thing in my gambling history. Sometimes I want to bet on football matches so much and I can't be even patient about it. I mean let's say I'm normally betting on only top leagues on weekends. But in my impatient times I start to bet on leagues that I don't even have any idea about.

These times end up with losses most of the time of course. After this I get more frustrated and can't stop myself from continuing to make bets continually for a while. Just because of this addiction I lost a lot of money once and finally managed to stop at a point. I have managed to deal with my problem for now and I will try my best to not repeat it.  Smiley
Let's hope that you don't lose control again and start betting recklessly once again because we all know that the urge is pretty strong that if you were once an addict, you find it very difficult to control yourself and keep yourself away from it. You may not need to keep yourself completely away and may make some calculated bets on weekends just like before, all you need to make sure that you are totally calm and collected and only betting on matches that you know and understand pretty well.

It's actually not too difficult controlling ourselves once we get a hang of it, but the initial stages are when it gets totally out of your control, no matter how hard you try, the urge makes you go there again and again, but if we overcome that and keep our minds in control, we can be great later on.

I never had to do anything like that because I don't gamble on any specific day and I don't gamble daily as well. In my case gambling (sports betting) is an event-based activity as we might say. I gamble when there's a specific event that I'm going to watch, like a certain match or a fight. When it comes to casino games I rarely gamble, usually it's a social event or I have to be bored and feel like wasting some money is a good idea Wink

I can understand that someone may be so desperate for their favorite league to start that they begin to bet on other leagues in which they may not have any idea about the teams which belong to it, but this is a felling that must be controlled, otherwise we will make bets which have almost no chance of winning, still it is nice to know that you have left those tendencies behind as it is not an easy thing to do, especially now that we can gamble from the comfort of our own homes.
I'd been away from gambling for several days, only to return and discover my absence had missed out on some massive odds and games. There are numbered games where my predictions have an 80% chance of winning if I am present. That was my loss, and I couldn't afford to miss out since then, always ready to return to the system with my accurate forecasts. I can't image going a day without gambling or analyzing games; it would be a huge loss for me. There's absolutely no need to go elsewhere, rather sitting at the comfort of our homes, we can print gigantic money.

That's why we are humans; we don't operate like robots or like a car brake, where any time we make some harsh decision, it just stands the way we think it should. I have had some bad experiences with gambling before, plus someone I loved wanted me to stop gambling. As much as I tried within myself to take a break from gambling then, it was not easy on me, and I could not even stop myself from gambling. There are other things that one gets so used to that stopping them cannot just happen in an instant.
Your struggle against gambling, encapsulated in the metaphor of humans not being robots or brake systems, perfectly underlines the intricate dance of human behavior. This dance defies straightforward logic, making challenges like gambling addiction difficult to navigate.

Your experience aligns with countless studies from the fields of psychology and neuroscience. These findings highlight that addiction modifies the brain, making quitting an uphill battle. It's more than just willpower; it's about the brain's reward circuitry being co-opted.

Moreover, emotional factors, such as a desire to quit for a loved one, add another layer of complexity. These emotions can inadvertently fuel feelings of guilt and stress, paradoxically encouraging further indulgence in addictive behavior as a coping tactic.

I did it many times back when my addiction is very high, I promise not to gamble after I lose a big amount I even swear that I will not, but the following day I'm back even promising to be better and not lose a big amount again.

How many of us are guilty of this?

This happens to me. I have never made a vow to stop gambling all together but I have told my self that I won't gamble for a few days to one week. Most times this happens when I've had too many series of losses or when I've had a big loss.
There is this feeling that I'm missing out on a lot when I decide not to play. Like "what if its this period that I'd win". It is this thought that makes me go back to gambling before the time I was suppose to.
Keeping to self promises like that requires a certain level of discipline. I'm at that point where if I say I don't want to gamble then I wont gamble.
Not only you my friend, it tends to happen to almost everyone who has had a fair share of gambling life and I am also a victim of such vows and at the end of everything I just call it a time of break from gambling and its better that way since I know that its very hard to stop the act but knowing your limit is what every gambler should do to avoid such situation.

How many of us are guilty of this?

Funny thing is, even while these things happen to people who aren't yet gambling addicts, many of us have made the decision to never gamble again in our lives after losing some money, and we still do it till today.
The worst part is that when you are already addicted to gambling, even if you lose millions every day, you will still gamble. I believe that this is worse than we that take it normally do because when we don't have any money to gamble, we won't risk it, but for someone who is already addicted, even if there is no money, they will find a way to continue gambling, even if it means taking out a loan.

It would be better if we decide never to gamble again because we already have the experience of losing at gambling.
But most people will not stop and keep gambling even though they have lost several times before.
What keeps them coming back to gambling because they think that if they win, they can withdraw the money but that is not the case.
And that's what makes them addicted to gambling and it's hard to cure.
And we shouldn't be disappointed if we still decide to return to gambling even though we gamble regularly.

It happened to me before, the time gambling is a habit and winning is my ultimate goal. Everytime I win, it's easy to say that would be the last or I won't be playing for days to enjoy the winnings. However, in reality it's really tempting to gamble again after the good experienced you had so it's just right to try once again and see if luck will still hit you.

But for gamblers who have discipline, refraining themselves are not hard because they know it's not wise to play once again due to the possibility of losing what you gained. So I think it's about self control, you can't break your promise if you can apply it to yourself.
